I had an excellent experience at Surgery Center of Plano today! I had my gallbladder removed. I have had multiple surgeries at different places, and this was by far my best experience ever. The anesthesiologist called me the night before surgery to go over everything and when I saw him this morning, I could tell her remembered everything I told him and made me really trust him. I was told to arrive at 6am for a 7am surgery, and every step was perfectly on time! The pre-op nurse was extremely friendly, accommodating, and had a great attitude. She made me feel so comfortable during a usually stressful time. My fiancé said he received updates throughout the entire procedure. The facility was so nice and very clean. The post op/recovery room nurse made sure I was comfortable and got my fiancé as soon as I woke up. This is the first time I’ve ever written a health care review, and there is a reason why. My experience was impeccable!

My wife recently had a procedure here and it went great thanks to the professionals that checked her in, did her pre-op, surgical team, and post-op care. Check-In went very smoothly and all insurance matters were easily handled. My wife did the on-line medical history questions before arrival and they didn’t ask her to re-do the forms or other information. The pre-op also went smoothly and they asked all of the appropriate and required questions. The IV start was perfect and she was comfortable the entire time. The procedure started 1.5 hours late through no fault of the staff. I don’t want my doctor to rush a procedure just to be done, so I afford the same courtesy to others before me. Post-op went great also. By the time I was called back, my wife was awake and not hurting. The discharge instructions were clear, but I wish they had sent us home with a small amount of replacement bandage for changing the first one at home. The ding to 3 stars is due to HIPPA. The draw curtains block zero conversation. I heard many calls and conversations with and about patients I really didn’t want, and by law should not, to have heard. There were calls about tomorrow’s surgeries and follow ups from the prior days work. Also, I know exactly how to empty the nice sounding elderly man’s new drain in the bay next to us because, again, the curtains block zero conversation. Conversely, I really don’t want others to hear about my wife’s surgery and painful recovery instructions. So, I recommend the center and their staff as procedural professionals. The lay out and design of the place makes it a non HIPPA zone despite the best efforts of the staff.

Can I give zero stars? Or negative stars? Had a biopsy a few days ago and let me tell you something, this place is unorganized! First off everyone checks in downstairs at a window, for the ENTIRE building. I rang the bell and waited 15 minutes to be checked in and then waited another 15 to be wheeled upstairs. At this point I was given a lecture about being on time and explained I waited almost 30 minutes in the waiting room to be wheeled up. Post surgery the nurse had no clue what was going on and basically told me to follow up with my doctor. I had no post surgical care info, next appointment information, no info on what medication was given, and even worse was basically forced out even though I was still having pain issues. To top it all off they were about to give me a medication I was allergic too before I finally said, you can’t give that to me! I would never go here again, EVER! Also, parking? Good luck! Nothing like having an operation and then walking to your car across the entire hospital in 25 degree weather.
