Snap Kitchen

This place opened up near my office a bit ago (within walking distance, even), and today, I finally decided to give it a try since the neighboring places weren’t really calling to me.
I had been in before, but hadn’t purchased, You’ll learn quickly, as others have said, that things generally come in three sizes: small (orange container), medium (green) and large (black). However, don’t think «Cheesecake Factory large» — the large here is not that big, at all. If you’re already on a weight management plan (like I am), a medium probably isn’t enough, but a large is about right, if not a smidge much. Otherwise, plan accordingly and pick up more than one thing.
I selected a small roasted zucchini and a large chili & eggs today. Another thing that becomes obvious: Since Snap Kitchen is largely (if not completely) gluten free, bread products are hard to come by. They had some pancakes today that were made from almond flour (if I remember correctly), but what I really wished for was a biscuit or a roll. So, if you’re hankering for that, consider an additional stop for that.
Digging in, the zucchini was quite good after a minute or so in the microwave. Good flavor, decent texture and after a sprinkle of salt and pepper, it was a great side. The chili and eggs featured a turkey chili with kidney beans and cheddar cheese, plus a scrambled egg base that seem like it was not all egg white, yet not all whole eggs, either. I’m not really sure what it was, but the main issue was salt, or lack thereof. It’s very hard to salt scrambled eggs after the fact, and I had that issue here. Even after a pretty good «dose», they still tasted a little bland. However, I pressed on, applying some sriracha and black pepper in addition to the salt, and the result was quite nice. The chili was meaty and didn’t scream «turkey» at all to me, and had a rich sauce that definitely said chili and not just tomato sauce.
My total for all of this was only a bit over $ 12, which is totally in line with other places in this area. Sure, if you get into salmon or the more exotic dishes, you can get into some money, but this was a very solid meal for a decent price, and no guilt afterward.
Definitely try this place out if you’re in the area!

Worst $ 21 meal — tomato basil soup was little more than tomato juice, the bison hash smelled and tasted more like bison «patties». The portions are small and the prices are big. They claim to be healthy but they aren’t low calorie or low carb.
Do yourself a favor and eat else where

Super excited Snap Kitchen has finally opened in Plano! If you’ve never been to Snap you’ve got to try them out! For the health conscious, busy person this will be your life saver! Healthy pre made meals are lined up in coolers for you to select from. They also have a great selection of snacks, cold pressed juices and fresh teas and waters.
To make the best «fast-​food» place even better, the staff is amazing! They are friendly, knowledgable and attentive!

New year new me, right? Well I’m trying to eat super healthy and give my body the right foods and as soon as I heard about this, I had to check it out! It was so clean when I walked in with my friends… like REALLY clean. They have so many options as well which I really liked. They also have them split up into breakfast, lunch and snacks, dinner and desserts and so on. I thought I’d spend $ 50 for what I put in my bag but nope! My total came out to $ 30 AND I got some free samples!!! which weren’t sample sized… it was like free drinks and meals! Y’all should definitely check this place out :) I’ll definitely be back! I’m a member now too!

Aw Snap! Fresh, healthy take-​away is the name of their game. I walk in immediately overwhelmed but equally impressed with the selection and organization of Snap Kitchen. Let’s cut the important stuff:

They sell juices and locally brewed Kombucha tea in several flavors.
Sizes are proportioned and packaged in S, M, L and color coded by orange, green, black. (YESSSSS! I am a sucker for packaging)
They change food items quarterly to make room for the seasonal ingredients.
Food is delivered freshly made daily.
I love the concept. I know people be busy and now they don’t have an excuse for eating unhealthy fast food. Personally, I enjoy either cooking or going out to eat, I very rarely do the inbetween.
Tried:
Spinach goat cheese salad was delicious quality. It literally came with almost an entire bag of spinach, that I had to take out half to eat later. The ginger glazed chicken w/​green beans and squash mp? were pretty good and I felt like it was the perfect proportion size. The turkey chili was hearty, flavorful, filling and under 300 calories! I was pleasantly surprised they carry Kombucha at a decent price of $ 4.50.
Their food is proportioned exactly as it should be. Some items I felt were slightly overpriced (juices for $ 8), some I agreed were spot on. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I’m rooting for you to do well!

I was greeted when I walked in and given a tour of the store. All my questions were answered. I had trouble deciding on what to get because everything looked good. I ended up with 2 juices and a snack (chicken strips are really good) It was clean and neat and the staff was friendly. The juices were great! Why spend $ 7 or $ 8 on unhealthy fast food when you can get healthy options like these?

If you drive a Range Rover and know all the Saks Fifth Avenue employees by name, I found you the perfect place to eat.
My god this place was so expensive for very little food. I didn’t even think it tasted great. It’s a nice vegan-​friendly store, but it’s so barren and lacks any character to me. Think of it as eatzis, but more expensive, less selection, and no atmosphere. The employees were nice and helpful I have to give them that, but I can’t justify paying so much for pick up and go food, no matter how convenient or fresh it may seem.
I tried the tomato basil soup, the grass fed beef jerky (which actually tasted like grass), and the lasagna. The soup was spicy and pretty tasty, lasagna was decent. Wanted to try the cashew chai milkshake, until I saw that it was $ 9.
With it being small portioned healthy food, I could assume you will lose some weight coming here often, but your wallet will lose even more.

Walked in to a friendly smiling face asking if I’ve ever been here before. Nope, I haven’t!
I was a little taken back because I thought it was a real restaurant. like I expected the layout of Zoe’s Kitchen or similar. But it was grocery styled and everything is prepackaged, needs to be microwaved, and taken to-​go.
I just wanted something good and saw their menu on their website and it sounded and looked super good. I was ready for the best chicken masala ever!
But I was totally saddened by how small the portions actually were. In the online menu and pictures, it looked like a pretty good and decent sized portion. It was nothing like that in real life :(
I ended up really liking what I got… however…I’m still hungry and that was a slightly expensive for what it is kind of meal.

I became a fan of Snap Kitchen when I lived off Henderson Ave and would go to their Fitzhugh/​75 location. Then I moved to the Shops and was bummed there wasn’t going to be one close. When I found out this one opened last month I was beyond excited.
If you are someone who is conscious about what they eat, but don’t have time to food prep, then this is the place for you! I’ve never had a bad thing here. Everything is fresh and delicious.
One thing I really appreciate is the reward program for loyal customers. After you’ve spent $ 500 you get a $ 25 credit and then when you hit $ 1000 you get a $ 50 credit. I’ve been a member for about 13 months and I’ve already gotten my $ 50 credit if that gives you an idea how much I love Snap.
I’ve been to several locations and I can definitely say that this location has the best customer service!
If you’re looking for healthy/​vegan/​gluten free/​dairy free and YUMMY food in the Plano/​Frisco/​Allen area then do yourself a favor and go to Snap!

This is a truly amazing place to get healthy food TO GO! They have options for everyone and you can trust the food is high quality with zero chemical additives. My family is Paleo, so to be able to pick up ENCHILADAS and LASAGNA that is totally grain, soy, and dairy free is quite EXCITING! The food is wonderful and the staff is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful! Snap Kitchen is the WAVE OF THE FUTURE! Check them out!

Very friendly staff and great food selection. I haven’t had anything I haven’t enjoyed and love the flavor and spice in all the dishes I’ve had! I’ve done 4 days with the 21 day meal plan and have zero complaints so far!

Loved the juices and snacks, but I wish they had more vegan options as far as the prepared meals go. Everything is gluten free, which is great, but I found it a little difficult to find what I was looking for until someone explained the symbols to me. Similar concept to Pick a Fit Foods, but much fresher items and less of a «get buff» vibe. I loved that my first juice was free, and that my next meal will be $ 10 off for signing up with their rewards program. I may struggle finding variety here since most of it was catered to vegetarian or paleo, and couldn’t be modified. I’m still super happy this is here! Definitely a take-​and-​go place, and happy that Frank’s hot sauce, salt, pepper, and even a microwave are provided in the store. Try the watermelon/​papaya mint juice… you won’t be disappointed.

These folks sell prepacked prepared breakfasts, lunches, and dinners in S, M, L sizes plus a few prepared snacks and sides. You can micro them there, or take them with you (clearly this is what most people do).
Overall, profoundly unsatisfying and quite expensive for what you get.
Hubby and I came here after our workout. He’s an extremely active Type 1 diabetic and we’re both very intentional eaters – we pay attention to portion size, healthy preparation, healthy ingredients. We’re all for eating local, renewable, sustainable, etc., and don’t believe that food has to include meat or drown in fat, salt and sugar to taste good.
BUT we also really enjoy food. This is not a place for people who love food and love to eat.
This place (and its most obvious competitor, My Fit Foods) are best for folks who eat to live vs live to eat, &/​or choose what they eat mainly based on a quasi-​orthorexic view of what human beings should and shouldn’t eat.
If you think food should be viewed primarily simply as fuel, and flavor and taste are secondary, you’ll probably like this place although you’ll likely choke on the prices.
The taste and overall quality are about what you’d expect from, say, an employee cafeteria in a company that has a well-​established wellness program. In fact, that would be a great business strategy for SnapKitchen (there, FTFY).
Not a single item tasted so good that I wished I had more — even though I was still quite hungry after I ate.
Here’s what we got, for $ 30:
2 bottles of house-​brand water
1 container of poblano soup — odd flavor, and no sign of the labeled pumpkin seeds
1 deviled egg (halved) filled with a skimpy hummus mixture — okay if you like bland
1 very small snack container of curried chicken salad — best item we had… and just like curried chicken everywhere
1 very small container of kale/​butternut salad — not bad but again, not especially great either
1 small container of kale Caesar salad — hard to screw up raw kale, but the dressing was absolutely flavorless. Not sure why it had raisins?
1 small crunchy chicken — four small slices of breast (tasted OK) plus a very small portion of carrots
And it wasn’t even particularly «carb-​conscious» either (75 grams total, IIRC) — a bit of a bummer for my Type 1 diabetic husband.
We also noticed that fruits and vegetables are definitely secondary here. Mostly, it’s about picking the protein you want. The veggie accompaniments are distinctly skimpy, which seems odd given the health focus. And they don’t have separate containers of JUST the veggies, either, in case you want to add more.
We were seriously hungry afterwards and struck by overall, how little food you got for $ 30. And how unimpressive it was, for $ 30.
Sure, we could have ordered the medium or large sizes — but holy cow, then we woulda been pushing $ 40+ for a really average meal. And it is DEFINITELY not worth THAT.
