I’ve been to another location a few times and this one is also on point! The food is authentic, always tastes amazing, and comes out hot! Food is a bit more expensive than a typical TexMex place, but this is anything but that. Very unique menu items and fantastic flavors that compliment each other well. There is always some type of sauce or condiment that accompanies the plates. Presentation is spot on, and the service is great. I struggle to try something new each time I come because I love everything I’ve had and want it again. Anything duck is great. This time I chose the Conchita Pibil. It was money! This place knows how to do Mexican food right!

A friend and I came here on a Monday night after finding out the wait at the restaurant where we had planned to eat was over an hour long. So, we got on Unilocal and found this place. Overall, it was a good experience but I probably won’t be returning. Pros: — Décor — looked like a fancy place — Food was good — Waitresses and waiters were all really nice. Our salsa and drinks were refilled quickly, and 3 different waiters and waitresses came to check up on us during our meal. Cons: — Food was too expensive — I can never justify such high prices for tex mex. — Long wait — I called ahead at 7:05, and they said it would be 15 – 20 minute wait. I arrived at 7:15, and went up to the hostess again at 7:23 saying it’s been about 20 minutes since I called. She turned around the computer and showed me that it was only 7:23 and I needed to wait a little longer. We got seated at around 7:30.

Went to dinner Thursday night with friends! It was amazing! Had the NEGRAMODELOGLAZEDSEABASS — 34 Grilled Chilean sea bass, tangerine-serrano mojo. Served with asparagus & morita whipped potatoes. Great atmosphere too! We sat on the patio! I would definitely recommend this place! Tiffany our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and very efficient!

We had a small group meet Saturday afternoon at Mi Dia. The food was excellent. We had a wide variety of dishes from the menu and everything was made from scratch. The salsa which is usually a great indicator of how good a Mexican restaurant can be was superb. The service staff was very helpful and informative and culturally relevant. The manager came by to check and see that everyone was pleased with the meal and the service. I highly recommend this place for high end Mexican food.

Decided to check this place out for lunch to see what the hype was about. To summarize food was good but the service was terrible! Our waiter George came by and poured us tea when we wanted water then asked if we wanted tea instead… answer was no. Then we put in our order of queso and our meal. 30 minutes later the meal arrives and the queso was forgotten. Never came by to refill our drinks. Once we were done eating it took some time before he came by and asked if we wanted dessert — we responded no just the check. Another 20 mins roll by still no check. Finally a manager came by our table and asked if we needed anything and again we said just the check. After another 10 mins the waiter finally comes by with the check and didn’t acknowledge the fact that he made us wait or forgot the queso. Just seemed like he didn’t care. Needless to say was disappointed with the service but food was good… would give it another try.

My friends suggested Mi Dia for dinner and drinks last night. They had been before, but I had not been. First, the place itself is really nice without being ‘too’ nice. For those of you who live here, you know what that means in this town of sometimes uppity places. Second, the drink menu is huge so if you have a hard time with decisions, good luck! Haha I mostly drink Tito’s so it’s always an easy choice for me. I did try some drinks my friends had and they were very tasty. Third, the waitress we had was new, but she did a good job. She had some hiccups, but overall she did a good job with a party of 6. Fourth, the food was really good. The salsa is delicious. It’s a bit smoky, which I normally do not care for, but it was tasty. We also had the queso fundido and the table side guacamole which were delicious. That guac was so good. I had the shrimp fajitas, which were good. The shrimp were a good size and definitely gulf shrimp, which I like. I hate local restaurants that don’t use gulf shrimp. Really? Come on now. Fifth, management. Excellent. My dinner came out about 7 minutes before everyone else’s. It was piping hot so I let it cool while I waited for my friends to get their food. We did find it odd that they bought one dinner out and not all dinners around the same time. Once everyone has their meal, the manager came out of nowhere with a fresh dinner for me and apologized for it coming out early. We were really impressed by that. Overall, great experience and highly recommended.

My wife and I went here last night to celebrate my birthday. We got there about 7:30 on a Thursday, were told it would take 15 – 20 min but it only took half that. The atmosphere is an open concept with the circular-shaped bar located in the middle. There is a patio outside next to a fountain with glowing, changing lights for added mood/atmosphere. The décor is modern. We wanted to sit at the bar to wait and get a drink but all seats were taken(there were only about 10 – 15). There was only one bench to wait and luckily there wasn’t hardly anyone else waiting. We were seated at a table by the window. The booths have the posts on the outside and are peculiarly close to each other so that my wife and I kept unintentionally playing«footsie» all night while we were eating. All of that aside, we had a blast because the food and atmosphere is that good. They offer just under a million different specialty margaritas. The house frozen or rocks start at $ 8 and a majority of the rest range from about $ 10 – 15. They do offer one that carries a $ 50 price tag. My wife ordered the Hell Freezes Over which carries a kick to it with its jalapeño infused tequila and features dry ice that makes it bubble for added fun. I just had the house frozen and it was decent. They also have an extensive tequila and tequila flight list. Choose your own flight ranges from $ 9 to $ 15 depending on which level of tequila you desire. You can even get 1oz of tequila for as much as $ 200 if you ever win the lottery. My wife and I both ordered the baja shrimp tacos which are battered in negro modelo beer and come with avocado and cabbage inside. They were incredible. The batter had fantastic flavor. The avocados and cabbage tasted very fresh and high quality. We also ordered the basic Chile con Queso($ 6) which was pretty good. The salsa has a mix of red and green salsa in the dish almost in the shape of a ying yang symbol. It delivered a smoky and very tasty flavor. For dessert my wife ordered Churros which were packed with delicious flavor that honestly took me 5 – 10 seconds to come back down to earth. I normally dont order dessert but will definitely be ordering them again the next time. We will be back to try more margaritas and want to check out the brunch.

I went to try this place for happy hour, and when I first entered and asked for a table they asked if I had a reservation. I said no and said there is a group of us who want to try out happy hour… the staff asked how long we would be and if we were seated at a particular table would we be leaving at a certain time. I was not impressed by this, but got seated. The waiter was very nice and chips and salsa were ok. I feel like their drinks are a little overpriced, but the tacos and fresh guac were delicious!

Their table-side guacamole is a must try, just the ingredients are much more than any other Mex places I tried and need a big push cart to carry all of the stuffs. How can anyone not like such fresh guacamole with tons of bacon bits? delicious. Quesadilla de Huitlacoch is a Mexican delicacy of corn fungus(also known as Mexican truffle) which I loved that flavor when I was introduced to it in Monterrey by our Hispanic colleagues. I ordered Enchiladas de Jaiba with lumps of crab and Chilean sea bass wrapped in house made corn tortillas, fresh and tasty. Wife & daughter shared Relleno Al Carbon, prepared with roasted poblano instead of it being fried, brings back memories of our favorited Relleno in Salado. Had house-made Flan for dessert, and it was well prepared also with a firm texture and unique flavor. This is what a Mexican Flan should taste like. On my next trip, I will try Duck Carnitas Enchiladas topped with Mole Coloradito. My compliments to the Chef!

Wow, I’m impressed(and I’m not one to be easily impressed). Hubs and I went here for dinner last Thursday. It was packed and pretty loud, but we were seated after just a short wait. Service was great — and I was not expecting good service since they are so new. The waiter was attentive, patient, and had several great recommendations. Good was outstanding. They serve two different salsas in the same bowl(very artistic) and each person gets their own. Since I’m an only child, I love when restaurants do this :) I ordered the Steak and Relleno — it was to die for!!! Best Mexican meal ever? Quite possible. The steak was tender, juicy, and very flavorful — absolutely perfect! And it was topped with a Relleno chile stuffed with gooey cheese and dressed in sauce. Simply amazing. My husband and I both got cocktails — I ordered the pomegranate martini and it was perfect — not too sweet but tasted terrific and strong enough to put you in a good mood without putting you under the table. If I had had any room at all I would have tried a flan — just guess I’ll have to go again. Oh well… Will be back soon! Yummiest meal I’ve had in a while!

The table side guacamole is delicious! That’s a meal all of its own The quesadillas are a great veggie option and the chips, salsa, and queso are perfect! Great atmosphere and wonderful menu options that are all extremely fresh The service is good and they are willing to work with you if you need to modify your entrée(i.e flour tortillas instead of blue corn or queso without meat) I’ve been there twice since they’ve opened and had a pleasant experience both times

This place was some of the best Tex-Mex food I have eaten. Got the Juanita plate and Fajitas. Boxed it up and ate it the next morning. The fajitas were thick and juicy slices, very generous portion. Every thing on the Juanita plate was amazing. Hands down the best light flavorful tamale I have had in a while. Drinks are cool and eclectic…

Food was tasty, but a little expensive when comparing it to the other Mexican restaurants around. The reason I gave it three stars was because our server was extremely pushy and made the experience pretty bad. It felt like he was a used car salesman. On a positive note, the drinks were tasty. We will probably go back for appetizers and drinks as long as we don’t get the same server. It had a nice environment for a date night or hanging out with friends on the patio.

Trendy Décor, Wholly Unremarkable Food and Drink The décor is brilliant, the staff is warm and welcoming, the menu contains list after list of Tex-Mex Standards as well as Mi Dia’s riffs on street tacos and the like, plus an up-to-the-minute craft cocktail list. Patrons range from screaming children to gorgeous gals and powerful business types to peaceful middle-aged couples and excited date-nighters. Expecting something a little different from«the usual,» or at least foods more fresh-tasting since the restaurant tagline is «from scratch,» and then receiving mostly foods right out of the blender, this experience was underwhelming. Upon arrival, you’re met with a cold dish of salsa containing a sort of yin/yang swirl of pureed green and pureed red. Now keep in mind that the chips are thick and hearty beasts, the likes of which do not work well with the thin gruel of slightly piquant salsa, being better suited for heavy lifting such as with steak nachos.(Yes, yes, there is a hint of flavor in the salsa, but not a lot, probably since the stuff is more of a soupy style.) Moving on to drinks…“on tap” listings of «infused» tequilas are interesting, until you try the $ 9 shot of infused tequila, only to find it muddy, muddled, and dirty looking, removing any vestige of tequila taste and replacing it with whatever the«infusion» was, plus organic bits that could have come from a dirty glass, you just don’t know. An infusion generally means just that — an infusion of taste, an inclusion of flavor, not an occlusion of cloudiness, soapiness and fragments floating in what should be a clear liquid. Anyway, just my opinion, and I’m entitled to it, since I have created my own infused tequilas and vodkas with similar flavors and nary a bit of unsightliness was part of the goal, let alone the presentation. Then there is the signature margarita — a silver-gray frozen whip of ice with a black straw and a tired lime wedge. This drink had enough ambiguity to have me leave it on the table unfinished, something I’ve never done before. Ah, but the street tacos… cute little things on a long rectangular platter, a micro of this and a micro of that, and a macro of ordinary, unexceptional colored«meat» in the center of each mini corn tortilla. The black bean purée had more flavor. The green rice was broken, cold, and devoid of life, with a dry, ugly texture and again, brilliantly lacking any savoriness. Not really a fan of this restaurant, but I will suggest it as the perfect place to gather, to meet, to hang out for a little while. The energy is good, the décor spot-on trend, and the noisy dining room begs you to speak up, enjoy your time here, and not worry much about details like bland tastes. If you aren’t accustomed to the spicy, and if you’d prefer your Tex-Mex and your New-Mex with a little less zest and zing, Mia Dia is the right choice for a nice meal, attended by a caring, patient service staff, in a beautiful environment in the middle of dear Plano.

The food is just as delicious as the Grapevine location! My husband and I have been anxiously waiting for this Plano location to open, because sometimes the drive to Grapevine is just too far. It finally opened and we decided to go on a Sunday. It was right at the ‘standard’ dinner time, so we expected a wait. The actual wait time was shorter than what the hostess said, so that was a plus! Apparently a lot of people were taken aback by the wait time and opted to go elsewhere– their loss! Of course a new business is going to be hoppin’ at dinnertime and your party of 6 won’t be seated in 10 minutes… Ah well. Our server was attentive, the guacamole was awesome, and the food was delicious, as expected! I expected this location to be a bit larger, especially since Grapevine is always packed! It’s a bit on the smaller side, but it definitely has the same feel as the Grapevine location. I’m sure that when the warmer months roll around, the small patio will always be full as well. We’ll definitely be back!

Well We were all a bit disappointed here. Great location. We waited an hour. At least one hour for 3 people to eat this very basic Mexican food. They do have a unique and wider variety of menu options here. That’s good. But the basics such as chips… yes chips and street tacos were honestly not nearly as good as let’s say Taco diner, MI Cocina, etc. We’re not coming back. This place isn’t worth the hassle.

Shiny new location with attentive and friendly service, great selections of authentic Mexican and Tex Mex food. What I like about the service here is that it is a collaborate effort from the entire staff, they all chip in to help each other regardless who is the server is for the table. As soon as you sit down at your table, chips and house made salsa is placed on your table immediately! I have been to this location once for lunch and once for dinner and the service is pretty consistent. I love love love the sea bass fish tacos, it comes with 3 tacos, rice and beans! I have to learn how to pace myself with the chips/queso/salsa so I can finish my plate next time I get it!

Oh, my. Tex-Mex heaven, you guys. This location is brand new off of Dallas Parkway. The plush booths, the modern light fixtures, the circular bar topped with a tequila tower… everything is gorgeous. Based on the stellar reviews, I was more than excited to try it out. Unfortunately, I had to work a shift tonight, so alcohol was not an option this visit :( Vincente was super attentive and just a sweetheart. It’s been awhile since I’ve experienced such quality service. He was very genuine and made great recommendations. The manager also made rounds, which is a sign of a successful business. This also gave me an opportunity to brag on our waiter a bit. As a homegrown Texan, a good sign of a Tex-Mex restaurant to me is the quality of the chips & salsa. The chips were sturdy, crisp, and not greasy(I’m lookin at you, Chuy’s). Red and green salsa were placed in a metal container and given to EACH guest upon sitting(yas. I don’t share salsa). The salsa had a good bite and was deliciously authentic. My plus 1 and I opted to go straight for entrees due to time constraint. We ordered the tradicionale street tacos & the duck carnitas enchiladas. I did ask for flour tortillas instead of corn, so I was a tad disappointed when they arrived, because Vincente had been so attentive, but I let it slide. The street tacos were juicy, and the side green tomatillo salsa is served in a shot glass. It also came with the standard beans and rice. The tortillas are tiny, but I guess that’s the point of street tacos. The duck carnitas enchiladas were drenched in a fragrant mole sauce. The duck was tender and flavorful, but the mole sauce had a very interesting herbal note and very strong flavors. I had a bite, and it was plenty for me. A very cute place for date night. A couple beers(for him) and two entrees came out to $ 50 plus tip. I wish I could have tried one of everything! On my next night off, I’m definitely getting down on a margarita… or three :)

Beautiful location — excellent looking and tasting food. Great polite and attentive service. Not cheap. Everything is advertised as made from scratch and has a distinctive taste of quality to it. Fantastic date night spot… Which brings me to my only complaint: My wife and I made the mistake of bringing our 1 year old son for brunch with us the other day while we were just in the area. They have booster seats but no high chairs. And the boosters have no straps so we had to keep a hand on him the whole time. This made things quite a bit hard to juggle. One of us had to eat while the other managed our child. Then we traded off and the other parent ate lukewarm but still tasty food. I don’t know if my complaint is really valid as our situation there seemed to be an uncommon one… And additionally, if our son had not been present, everything would have been fine. However, I am generally of the belief that if you are going to not be a fully formal restaurant complete with reservation and dress code requirements that generally doesn’t allow for kids at all, then perhaps look into making sure all situations with children are taken care of rather than just ones who are of elementary school age and above.
