Jack Junkies

Stopped by on Saturday morning to check the place out and got an appointment at 4pm to replace the brake pads and rotors on my ’06 Accord. Dave was very helpful explaining their policy to me and he was OK that I used my own tools. I took extra time to do the job right so it ended up being a 2-​hr job. Dave was nice enough to check in on me and willing to answer questions to help me get the job done right. I thought it was great for a shadetree mechanic like me who likes to tackle simple jobs and use high end replacement parts.

Looked very promising based on reviews and their website, but poor scheduling meant I never got to try this place.
SITUATION: Have a few days off to perform maintenance on someone’s car. 2 hour job probably. Called Jeff and scheduled an appointment for the following morning.
RESULTS: Call to confirm and am told no bays available anyway. Maybe later that evening. Called again and told Jeff will call me tomorrow to confirm if that day works. No call from Jeff.
CONCLUSION: Last day of vacation and go to a corner fluids change place and pay $ 90 for what I could have done for $ 25. Having dinner with family before heading to airport. Jeff calls saying «hey we have a bay that just opened up!»
Don’t waste your time with these guys — all they do is waste yours.

To save money I went to Jack Junkies to replace the suspensions on my car. I did most of the labor myself with a little bit of help. I had no experience but spent a lot of time researching online and watching videos on youtube. It was a success! My car runs like new again even though it’s 18 years old! The guys were helpful and the place is clean. They have all the tools you’ll need. Will definitely be returning.

Jack Junkies was exactly as I had hoped for… a shop where you can work on your own car as needed but have the tools and expertise available if you need it. I took my vehicle in to fix a minor repair and the mechanic on duty was super helpful and very friendly. The shop was clean and the price was right. I will not hesitate to bring my car in again.

Stopped in here because the concept looked like a great idea.
I think if you’re an avid DIY-​er, this place is probably a great place to go to get your car fixed. If you estimate something like a timing belt job, you’re looking at about 6 hours of book time. Let’s say an average DIY-​er would take twice that time, that’d be 12 hours at $ 20/​hour. That’s $ 240 in Jack Junkie rental cost and you’re saving yourself anywhere from $ 390 to $ 600 in labor costs. That’s not too bad. That is just labor costs and that doesn’t include the tool rentals that may be required.
The shop is very clean. It’s what I’d expect. The non-​lift bays are a little close together. I was expecting them to be spaced a little wider.
All-​in-​all if you’re looking for a place to do some work on your car and don’t have the space at home, this would be a pretty good place to use. I’d definitely come here if I need a lift.
