Great Wall Super Buffet

I usually don’t like Chinese buffets because the food is usually very oily, and if the buffet is slow then the food taste cold and nasty. However, Great Wall Super Buffet wasn’t the case. I was impressed with the selections and how delicious the food were. If you’re into authentic Chinese food, then this place is definitely not for you. Most of their dishes are very Americanized, it’s almost like eating at an AYCE Panda Express but with other options like hot and sour soup, California rolls, fried shrimp/​chicken, gyoza, fruits/​desserts, etc. My favorite was their veggie Lo Mein. It’s more on the sweeter side but it wasn’t too oily nor heavy. I’d recommend anyone thats looking for a local Chinese buffet to give it a try. Lunch price is around $ 8 and dinner around $ 10.

Me and my boyfriend went to this place for the first time and after we both made a plate we went to the table and everything on our plates was COLD and CHEWEY. Nothing was cooked correctly and it was ALL cold. It was disgusting, We left without paying.

Not great, won tons were mushy and I was there early. Not big selection, egg rolls ok, BBQ ribs were tough. Was ok but prob will not return.

The best Chinese buffet. Always fresh food, at all times of the day! I prefer the frisco location just because of the bigger selection but the plano staff us so nice and considerate.

Food is average, shrimp was probably the best part. But oh man was i pissed off about the redundant fortune cookies, my girlfriends mom got the same fortune as me… This is bullshit, be original!

Everything kept well stocked, but nothing stood out to me taste wise that would bring me back if I came to Texas again in the future. Lot’s of salt vs. other flavors that I would expect from Chinese food.
Buffet was well stocked.
The service was very good though as my glass was always full and plates removed!
Maybe I am just used to NY Chinese restaurants and Michigan Chinese buffets that are real good in my opinion.

One of the best Chinese buffets I have had in a long time! I will definitely make this a stop when I venture back to Plano. The clams, mussels, and calamari were of decent size and well flavored. The beef egg rolls were so delicious I finished even though I was already full. I would have enjoyed more vegetable options and maybe a brown rice. My son didn’t care for the breading on the shrimp and thought the ice cream bowls should have been big enough to allow for toppings.

Yuck. I’m a food addict and even I didn’t like this. Not much variety and everything tastes the same… gross

Sat down at noon on a Saturday. Not a thing was hot, even warm, except the sweet and sour sauce. About 12:30 things warmed up a bit. Average mix of items for a Chinese buffet. 10 years ago I use to eat here probably once a week. The place has really seemed to let itself go.
Quality of food was like eating leftovers from a hole in the wall Chinese place 3 days later.
Perhaps the owners are focusing on the Frisco location they opened in recent years and left the second string to run this Plano location residing on the fringe of a dying mall.

The food establishment here is awesome. The buffet for lunch is $ 8.50 along with a drink it will be $ 11.35 to be exact. The food is fresh. I always get beef broccoli when I eat Chinese food and the beef here is very tender and flavorful. The deserts are not fantastic but they are ok. The staff is very attentive. I give this place five stars. Nothing bad about this place.

Please!!! The food is very average. I know it’s Chinese but there are better options if you are looking for a good meal. First and last time here for me

The reason for this is because after I payed the bill, she called me back and asked me to leave a tip!
That was EXTREMELY rude!
Yes, i didnt leave a tip at all. I admit it. Being a buffet, we were’nt exactly served anything. So I believe there wasnt any need for a tip! (I normally tip 20% at normal restaurants)
But she should never call a customer back for a tip. I mean… who does that!
P.S– The food was not too bad. probably give it a ³⁄₅. Sushi was made with what seemed like cold and unboiled rice.

Not sure I understand the 1 and 2 star reviews… it’s a Chinese buffet after all! What do you expect? The food was okay and the place seems clean. The lunch selection was a little disappointing – no grilled chicken or dishes which were not drenched in sauce or oil. No reason to go out of your way to get here, but there’s no reason to bash it.

I live across the street from this place and what you get for 9.99 is pretty decent.
Every once in a while my roommate and I will go there for lunch or dinner.
While the quality is not the greatest, the selection is huge and it is your standard chinese super buffet. I know you guys know what type of restaurant I’m talking about, and this is one of them.
One thing to note though, is that their seafood is not that great at all, especially the sushi

Wide variety of Fresh food. Very comfortable relaxing environment. The staff is superb Just see for yourself.
The massive buffets they have are very accommodating and you never have to wait.
My wife and I are health nutts and this is our place to go Graze and just relax. The staff is constantly maintaining the buffet bars. This place is a true GEM located on the south side of Collin Creek Mall.
A place you can go and feel ultra comfy near the fireplace and just have some amazing food of your choice. This is my Number one fav place to go have a bite. The staff is always super and we always make sure to tip them.

Priced amazing for what you are able to have. mmmmmm Mouth is watering at this point.

Honestly, this just another OK chinese buffet.
The food was mostly cold, and the sushi wasn’t fresh (the rice was hard). Not a very wide selection– two small buffet lines, only 4 types of sushi– but pretty good. The Spanish music blaring from the kitchen did kind of ruin the atmosphere, not to mention being annoying… Also, disappointingly small crab rangoons :(

Place should be renamed Dysentery Simulator 2014.
EDIT: Can’t really blame the place, probably just had bad luck. The Frisco location is much better in my opinion.

Saturday Lunch. 6−28−14
Most dishes were hot and fresh.
Very large shrimp in the Salt and Pepper Shrimp dish.
Hot and Sour soup was not bad, but lacked meat, and water lilly buds. Too much other veggies. Couldn’t find any wood ear or other Oriental mushrooms.
Egg rolls and Spring rolls were good.
Sweet and Sour Chicken was good.
The pepper beef was nasty in the fact that I didn’t know you could get beef to be that slimy and tender. Check the local pounds for a large adoption of stray cats.
My favorite dish is the Michael’s Chicken. It is a very crispy chicken wing or drummy seasoned with a very lightly sweet sauce, that has a background in ginger and Chinese five spice. Dang they are good.

This buffet is unbelievable… I have no idea what should I eat. And the foods that they have so old and disgusting.
I try the shrimps they so soft and oily, the crawfish so nasty. the fried rice so dry… uhhh
The dessert just like junks…
The only thing I like is egg drop soup.

One of the few Chinese buffets that don’t get horrible reviews on here. My partner is a stickler for a good buffet. This place fits the bill just fine.
It is always clean and the food I s always hot ish. Staff is super friendly. Stop in and give this place a chance.
