Description

Specialties

The Objective of From MiMi’s House is to incorporate the purpose with the passion in everything produced or provided by From MiMi’s House. This objective is primarily accomplished by designing thoughtful, meaningful expressions utilizing handmade greeting cards. Due to the methodology used in making the merchandise, each piece is an original and cannot be duplicated. If possible, an item of similar color, design, and embellishment may be made as a custom order.

History

Established in 2011.

From MiMi’s House is a newly established business that I created as an outlet for my interest in card-making.

Meet the Business Owner

Vicki Y.

Business Owner

‘MiMi’ is actually Vicki Young. I am a native Texan, born in Greenville, grew up in Dallas, and lived in Austin thirty-plus years and now in Plano for the past sixteen years. I am also a wife, a mother of two grown children, a grandmother of two precious grand-daughters, and maker of various crafts. Crafting began at an early age. My mother, grandmother, & aunt all enjoyed sewing. My first ‘real art project’ used fabric scraps, threads, paper, my trusted jar of paste, and other ‘little things.’ Now, those ‘little things’ used long ago are now known as ‘embellishments!’

My professional and volunteer careers were always in the line of helping others. As an adult, my work helped young girls with their Girl Scouting activities, providing care to those who were living and dying with AIDS, being an AIDS educator, or organizing teams to deliver Meals on Wheels to the elderly. Each activity had a purpose and I had a passion for that purpose.
