The Doctor seems rushed as hey book appointments for 30 minutes instead of 45 minutes to an hour so they’ve seen to always be behind. I had to come get my eyes checked a second time because my prescription was incorrect. The second time I went the prescription is still slightly off. The doctor didn’t seem to want to try to diagnose why my vision was still blurry and just kept trying to increase prescription increments. I went home with three different prescriptions to test with and had to figure it out in my own. That was very frustrating.

Total joke, if you post your hours, post the fact you take hour+ lunch breaks in the middle of the day too. Glasses counter tells me they should have time for me convince me to wait around an hour. While waiting a lady sits closer to the door than I was right before they come back from lunch then when I walk in first glared at like I cut in front of this lady. They help her first… despite waiting outside the office much longer, and treat me rudely. But at last they see me and right away say they have no openings for a week… Get on the same page with Costco. They don’t know your hours because you close your office randomly, and they think you have openings when in fact your booked up for a full week! I wasted an hour of my time and received no help.

Very patient and caring doctor. Didn’t charge me for my dad’s eye exam when she found a problem with my dad’s right eye and cited that reading glasses might not solve his issue.

I realized while trying to order eyeglasses online that she failed to include pupillary distance on my prescription. This should have been included for the price I paid.

Okay, it was totally my fault. I was doing my hair color in a hurry(not unusual), and using liquid instead of cream developer(unusual, and makes for a messier process) and splashed the solution in my left eye. Of course, the hydrogen peroxide-based liquid burned like crazy so I immediately splashed water in my eye a few times, changed my contacts and then finished my hair. It was Friday night and I was running late! Later that evening I realized my eye was still burning, and getting worse. By the time I hit the hay, I could see the lid swelling, and when I woke up Saturday morning, my eye was swollen and covered in goo. A friend recommended I go to a «doc-in-a-box,» but I remembered that the optometrist at Costco would be open and I thought an eye doctor would be a better choice. I was right! Dr. Nguyen was able to see me quickly, and had the equipment to look at my eye in extreme detail so she could tell that my cornea was okay, but the sac that surrounds the eye was extremely swollen. She prescribed several drops, went over how I should use them and gave me her personal cell phone number in case it got worse over the weekend. Tuesday afternoon she called me to check and see how I was doing and reviewed the process of tapering off of the medications. Whether you call that patient care or customer service, it was very comforting, and I felt like she was genuinely concerned about me. I’ve seen Dr. Nguyen in non-emergency situations too, and she was great. I’m at that awkward stage where your eyes don’t work like they used to, and she gave me several options to deal with my new reality, without telling me I had to do one or the other. I like that. Now I have to say, she looks very young,(she’ll appreciate that some day!) but she certainly knows what she’s doing, and obviously cares about her patients. I’m very happy to recommend her. You can see her even if you’re not a Costco member, but if you need glasses, independent research lists Costco as one of the best providers, and they’re inexpensive too. Excellent prices on contacts as well. And by the way, if you ever get hair color, or a similar chemical, in your eye the protocol is to rinse for a full 15 minutes by leaning over a sink and continually splashing fresh water into your eye. That’s 15 minutes… not 2! Then go see Dr. Nguyen. She’s open on Saturday!
