Discount Tire Store – Plano, TX

Came in; No Greetings; No «I get with ya in a minute» only guy behind the desk can help me but he on the phone for long time! A guy working came in n tell me he’ll (guy on the phone) be right with me, so I seated. After guy on the phone done I was still waiting so another customer just walk-​in n he got served before I did, I didn’t come to think anything thought he was doing some paperwork then I stood up and wait behind the guy who serve before me then desk guy tells me that he’ll be right with me! So I grab a seat. Then another customer came in and she got serve before me!!! What??? So I gave him a look and dude is still clueless; so I fucking left! Sat there for 30minutes on a slow Friday and served two people ahead of me, I think I’ll take my business elsewhere!
I wanna add that a time before I had problem with this place! But I can’t recall what happened?! But please fix it.

Discount Tires has great customer service and quality vehicle care.
My story is: I had a nail in my tire. I went to my car dealership and they told me that it wouldn’t be repairable and told me they had to put on a new tire. Surprised and upset about the costs I sought the opinion of two separate friends and they both recommended Discount Tires to me. I went in to the Plano location. The employees were extremely friendly, did not pressure me into products that I did not need, fixed my tire at no charge and offered their complementary tire rotations! I highly recommend this branch to all drivers especially women. Personally, I feel some repair shops try to take advantage of women but not Discount Tires.

Great service by Phillip Cook. Took time to find a replacement wheel in another State, saving me money. Have been using Discount Tire for years, due to reasons like this.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t wake up thinking «What a beautiful day. I can’t wait to go drop a pile of money to replace my four bald a$$ tires before I try to get my car inspected.» For that reason, a 5-​Star experience is not really possible. That being said, I got 30,000 miles out of super high performance summer rubber on a car with a track suspension and camber/​toe adjustments, so I can’t really complain about needing tires. I ended up with a little bit of time in my day and called to see if I could get the car in for four tires (I already had checked stock and knew exactly what I wanted). They scheduled me for about 2 hours later at 10:45. The car was pulled into the bay just after the scheduled time, and I listened to them tell all of the folks without appointments that it would be about 1.5 hours for service. I was out the door for exactly what I expected to pay by 11:30. They massaged the price a little so that I got all four replacement certificates included for about the same price as the web app quoted without them. I have now dealt with this location and the one up on 380, and I am definitely a fan. I have received free tire repairs on tires that weren’t even purchased there, and all of the employees are extremely nice. Like all chain auto repair places, the key IMO is to know what you want/​need and not get sold on extras and marginally necessary product/​service.

I hate when a place tells you 1 hour and 15 mins and 1 hour and 30 mins later your car still hasn’t moved. So annoying.

Check your bill carefully. I noticed the up charges when I arrived home. They won’t give you the bill until you leave. I was charged $ 24 dollars for four new valve cores. The problem is I was not offered and did not request a tpms kit be installed. I also don’t remember a $ 64 lifetime balance charge last time I had a set of tires installed. To me this looks like $ 88 in up charges. I called the store. The manager was not available. I called the district office. The district manager was also not available.

Top notch customer service here! Not only are you in and out fast but the folks know their stuff. Plus I love to come here (when I’m in the area visiting my mama) to fill up the air in my tires! Keeps me and my car happy. I will be back for more tire needs!

Been bringing my vehicles here for years. Every retail chain should take their customer service training from these guys. They are professional, friendly, competitively priced, and do quality work. Their word is good on how long the service will take. I trust them more than any other vehicle service-​related place. And, that says a lot. My car is my baby! I also insist that my 3 teenagers being their cars here as well.

This place was a huge sigh of relief being that I got my badly punctured flat tire assessed and two new tires installed all in just over half-​an-​hour (I had scheduled the appointment online the night before). Back home, I was used to sitting for a minimum of 1 ½ hours and sometimes up to 3 hours for new tires at a different tire shop chain. I already expected to have to get the tire and it’s counterpart replaced since they were nearing the end of their life cycle. The price was reasonable and the Discount Tire lifetime warrantee seems great. I’m glad I came here when I had a flat.

We have always gone to another tire store but in the past year have had continual problems. The last straw was when we took our car back in because of a metal clunking sound. We had bought the tires recently at this particular company and they couldn’t find anything. Told us if it happened again, to bring it back and they would check again. We needed two new tires and my husband found a good price at Discount Tires. Shortly after they took my car back, the manager came up to us to inform us that when the hubcap was removed, a lug nut fell out. Now why couldn’t the other company find it? (Laziness!) We were shocked and surprised how quickly our car was ready. Everyone was professional and friendly. We won’t be buying tires anywhere else in the future.

I’ve usually gone to the Discount Tire on Spring Creek near 75, it’s a little closer to where i live. I went to this location because it’s right next to Costco in West Plano and I wanted a competitive quote for 4 tires. Costco was offering a $ 70 immediate rebate from Michelin and I was hoping Discount Tire could come close.
Not only did Discount Tire meet Costco’s price, it beat it by $ 5 when I showed them my quote from Costco. I (kind of) expected them to meet the price, not to beat it.
But the outstanding part of this transaction is an employee named «Timothy» who provided one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had.
When I bought the 4 new tires the tire tech who mounted the tires must have been having a bad day. By the time I got home (2.5 mile away), the brand new Michelin was partially deflateted. But the thing that really irritated me was that the tech who mounted the tire had scratched my high end Toyota wheel when he used a wrench while mounting. I had kept my wheels pristine and then I saw this 4″ scratch that really dug into the wheel material.
So 3 hours after buying the tires I went back to the dealership. Timothy had helped me originally and when he saw me again as I walked in, he asked if I had a problem. I told him the issues and he attended to them personally — despite what was obviously a very busy day for him.
The leak was due to an incorrect core on the valve stem. The Tech had not screwed it in all the way. The scratched wheel was examined by Timothy and he said he would mount the tire I had just bought on a custom wheel that kinda matched my existing wheels and he took my scratched wheel and said he would have it re-​surfaced and back to me in a day or two.
WOW, I’m impressed. I don’t like that the original issue of a scratched wheel occurred — I baby my car. But accidents will happen. Timothy turned my «upset» into a «customer for life» experience — that is, if Discount Tire keeps employees like Timothy working for them. It’s been some years since I’ve encountered the great customer service and attention I received from this Discount Tire location. It’s becoming so rare to receive this kind of attention.

This place is great! I came here on a Friday evening for a full set of tires, they had me in and out in 35 minutes — by the time I had cracked open my book it was time to go! The price for the tires is also very reasonable — and get the warranty — TRUST ME — it’s worth it.
The guy who worked on my car was also very nice.
I’ll be back the next time i need tires!

Really fine customer service! A cap covering the center of the wheel cover was missing (no idea when it disappeared), and the store volunteered to replace it at their expense, in case they had lost it during a tire repair two weeks ago – the repair at their expense! This is customer service at a truly highly level! I will stick with these folks forever.

Always a good experience. I went in with a flat and was out in about 45 minutes. I never buy tires anywhere else, just because Discount service after the fact is so worthwhile.

I’ve gone to my fair share of Discount Tire locations and this one is probably on the top of my list. «Why?» you ask?
There’s only one reason service and speed: You know when you walk into Discount tire and there’s a million people and you think, I didn’t bring a magazine. Well, you don’t need one here. A couple games on my IPhone and they were done.
I pass by this location all the time, but only until recently did I visit because they had the tire I was looking for. A couple of the guys that work here, I recognize from the other DT locations.
Would I go here again, absolutely.
The one downside to this store is that it’s small. They only have 4 bays, 2 of which don’t have lifts. It didn’t seem to be a problem for me this time, but I could see it being a problem. I did go around 2pm on a weekday, so that definitely makes a difference.
Their tires aren’t the cheapest out there, but they do offer a lot of value added services for free.
By the way, all tires come with a pro-​rated warranty. If you damage your tire, they will pro-​rate you the cost of the tire based on the tread that’s left. You don’t have to buy a certificate to get that. It’s free. Damage certificates are only replacements for damaged tires.

I’ve been going to discount tires for years and they have always treated me like a person and not a customer. This is the closest location be me but they are all over the DFW area if I need them. They have the most choices in tires and always have the lowest prices too (even online prices). The cool thing is that they just do tires and wheels so I never have to worry about them trying to sell me on additional vehicle maintenance.

This store — and Discount Tire, in general — is the only go to place for new tires. I have used them for years. Every time I check for better prices and have yet to find them. The service is outstanding, especially with the road hazard stuff. They regularly rotate and balance my tires at no cost. Everyone seems to be working hard and getting you taken care of as quickly as possible. Never a complaint from me.

For tires, I only go to Discount Tire. You can order your tires online, and schedule an appointment. If you can afford it, buy the lifetime certificate for repairs, refund or replacement (

This particular store has had a manager I wanted to slap the crap out of, but I haven’t seen him in recent visits. They do quality work, and the prices are quite reasonable. Just give everything a once-​over before you leave, especially if you have tires that have to be installed with a certain side facing out. Many young technicians don’t catch that fact.
