History

Established in 2001.

I opened my practice (Marcy L. Berry, M.D., P.A.) within the community in 2001 in an effort to bring your child’s medical home closer to yours. In mid-​2009, Dr. Sarah Rylie joined the practice, and we were renamed A Bright Future Pediatrics. We are happy to be in our new neighborhood in our beautiful, child friendly, state of the art office.

As the founding owner of A Bright Future Pediatrics, I take pride in providing a nurturing environment and professional care for your children. I strive to make a difference in children’s lives, in both their physical and emotional well-​being. I look forward to developing a long-​lasting relationship with all my patients and their families. I can certainly identify with the full spectrum of the parenting experience, having one child who is gifted and talented and another who is just as wonderful, however has special medical needs.

I have two toddlers, so we are constantly in Dr. Berry’s office. We can always get an appointment the same day if needed, the facility is clean, and we never feel rushed. Sometimes we have to wait awhile in the exam room, but I really don’t mind because that means when Dr. Berry comes in to see us, she takes her time and gives us ALL of her undivided attention just as she did for the last patient. In addition to being competent, she also genuinely cares for each child. We have probably been here 20 times in the last year, and every experience has been positive.

Dr. Berry is a kind, thorough pediatrician that’s been an invaluable partner raising our daughter.
Many of the negative reviews here seem to be from people with a disconnected view of patient responsibilities when visiting a doctor for themselves or their child.
At A Bright Future Pediatrics we receive expert care, timely advice (including large prepared reference material delivered in packets appropriate for our girl’s stage of development), and kind, caring bedside manner. In exchange, we arrive on time, make payments promptly (at the time of service), proactively ask questions, and don’t expect more time than we need to thoroughly care for our daughter.
As a result, we couldn’t be more pleased.

So I got a call saying my daughters appointment was canceled by Dr. Sarah Rylie, but none of the staff knew the reason, and every time I called the office manager wasn’t able to talk. Finally, it turns out that one member of the staff said there was a certified letter that was sent out on the 27 of February that I finally received on the 6th of March, a day after that conversation of the staff dodging my questions. 2 days later I get a certified letter stating I missed an appointment so I was no longer able to continue Dr. rylie as my primary care doctor. Terrible customer relations. They were good but change has got the better of them.

Dr Rylie is wonderful! I am so grateful I was referred to her by my OB. She has been amazing and so helpful with our first baby. As a new parent I have a lot to learn and Dr. Rylie has been so patient and helpful. Her staff is excellent to work with and I am so glad my little girl gets to grow up going to this practice.

We’ve been coming here since we had our daughter in April of 2013. I don’t know what all the other reviews are whining about but we love Dr Riley! The office staff is great and the murals on the walls are fun for the kids.
We highly recommend this for new parents or parents looking for new pediatricians.

Dr. Berry is awesome! She’s very thorough with each diagnosis and truly cares about our children. My girls love the decorations in each room — makes for great conversation as you wait for the staff to come in. This office is highly recommended for anyone looking for a pediatrician!

Dr Berry came recommended to us when we moved to the neighborhood but I have never had a good experience here.
She recommends several tests that insurance doesn’t cover, the office is a mess, everything is in complete disorganization all the time.
I feel like I am at a mechanic shop whenever we have to visit. We go in for a strep test (that’s negative) and somehow we leave with a $ 300 bill that they insist be paid for now, no matter how sick my child is. It isn’t about the money to me, it is about allowing me to leave while carrying a 50 pound child with a 102′ fever and having the courtesy to bill me. I shouldn’t be strong armed into setting him in a (likely filthy) chair so I can run my HSA card.
Medically, I trust her. She is thorough and educated. Her bedside manner leaves much to be desired and the feeling that the office is out to get every penny from me is unshakable.
We have since switched to a family doctor and are much happier.

I’m glad I didn’t check out the reviews of this place before coming here last year, because I probably would have never come. I’ve been taking my daughter to see Dr. Rylie for about a year now and we really like her so far. I’m always able to schedule an appointment and have her be seen same day or next day. When you go to the office, there is a separate entrance for sick and well child. That’s great. It’s the same room with a room divider, but at least it’s something. The walls are cute with murals that the kids love. Dr. Rylie is really sweet and attentive. I’ve never met Dr. Berry so I can’t say anything about her. But I’d really recommend this place. we’ve only had a few visits, but all went well.

When our son was born I was happy taking him to Dr Berry when she was over on Spring Creek Pkwy. However, when she moved to the new office and hired that new doctor things went downhill. It was hard to even schedule an appt with her anymore, we got pushed off onto the newbie doctor. They began charging/​billing for EVERYTHING! One time I was asked if I wanted my son’s ears cleaned and I said sure, then received the bill and was charged $ 50 for that!!! The latest surprise was being told that they bill for a questionnaire! A questionnaire?! I’m done! Our son is now 5 and I can’t take it anymore. We will NOT be going back!

I really like Dr. Berry. She’s been very attentive, takes her time, and offers a lot of reassurance for a first time mommy (yours truly). The nursing staff are friendly and very skilled. My son is still an infant, and I’m so glad I found a pediatrician I can trust.

Dr. Marcy Berry was my pediatrician growing up, and though I didn’t know better at the time, I realize now, looking back, that seriously she’s the worst. She’s so preachy about abstinence to the point of even slut-​shaming and will make up facts if she finds out you’ve been sexually active. She uses threats and scare tactics instead of educating children about how the body or diseases actually work.
On top of that, she’s super impatient. At an appointment, she does what she needs to and leaves. If you have your own questions or concerns, you basically have to block the door on her way out.

My son (10 months), had recurring ear infections and cough. But the doc only prescribed meds for the infection, and said the cough would subside on its own, though i constantly mentioned how i had asthma as a child, and that i thought my son was wheezing. The doc said that it wasn’t wheezing, and the sounds were only from the drainage/​congestion in his throat. After more than 3 months of infections including 1 month of cough, i was told to consult an ENT specialist for inserting tubes. Since neither my husband nor i have any history of ear infections, i went to another pediatrician for a 2nd opinion. And he was given a nebulizer right away, and guess what, his cough subsided immediately and he hasn’t had any ear infection since then. Clearly, the doc could not diagnose such a obvious symptom (even his daycare teachers kept telling me that he’s wheezing and needs a nebulizer). Also, the wait time is horrible, mostly between 45 to 90 mins. I’ll never understand why appointments are even given, if it cannot be honored. Being in a closed box with a sick child especially for so many consecutive visits, is not at all a caring gesture. I understand sometimes it can be busy, but 90% of the time just means, its all about running a business, and not a service for the people. The doc also rushed through answering my questions/​concerns. I do not recommend this doc, however some of the nurses there are compassionate and knowledgable. Also, i like the interiors of the clinic. So, unless you like to look around at nicely painted walls and décor, please do not consult this doc. Forgot to mention, we consulted Dr.Berry.

Went today first time as a new pt with my child. Called in the morning and got appointment same day. Wow. Got there, everybody in the office was very friendly. Doctor was very nice, didn’t hurry anywhere. We’ve seen Dr. Riley. Will be switching to this dr permanently. They also have website, you can download new pt paperwork and fill out at home.
4 stars because they have 2 tvs and when I asked why they are not on, receptionist said «Sorry, they are not working». They should fix it and show cartoons, so kids wouldn’t get bored waiting. Otherwise, what is the point of 2 TVs in the waiting area?
