Plainridge Park Casino

Another great visit today. I visited one of the food court restaurants called B. GOOD and well it was good! Pretty busy today but still managed to find a few penny machines to play. Only thing I have noticed on all my visits is the fact no matter day or night/​weekend or weekday is a good number of $ 1 machines sit empty. How about filling those seats with people by adding a few more penny machines as those were the seats that were hard to come by.

Leave it to Massachusetts to screw up the first casino. One visit was enough just to pacify my curiosity. If this is what all the other casinos are going to be like just make casinos illegal again. The games all suck and are waaaaaay over priced. And the place is small and boring. Sorry I’ll still give my money to RI.

I’ve been here a few times since the place opened. Yes, it gets crowded on the weekends, so thats why I tend to go on the weekdays, or in the afternoons on the weekends. I don’t win much, I often lose, but I don’t gamble more than what I’m willing to lose, so no big deal here.
The pizza place is pretty good, but everything here food-​wise is a bit pricey. The free soda and coffee is a nice touch.
The only thing that prevents this review from being 5 stars are the people in the promotions counter. I forgot to bring my card once and asked if I could have a replacement. The woman at the window was downright nasty. I decided to be as polite as I could to her and that just seemed to set her off. Tip: If the line at the promotions booth is long, go over to the racetrack side of the building. They can issue loyalty cards there as well.
I’m not quite sure what security does. I’ve been let in a few times with just a nod, sometimes they ID, and once I had to have my picture taken and then matched to my ID with facial recognition software before they’d let me in.

Absolute worst casino in the area!!! I have traveled the entire Country gambling and have NEVER experienced such terrible payouts!!! Never ever will I return and I predict them being out of business within 1 year!!! Terrible experience

I’ll start out with the positive: The parking lot looked nice, brand new. Nice view from atop. Friendly service. I loved the game to win free slot play when you first register. The slot machines just amazed me. They were all brand new and neatly layed out.
I rated it one star because upon entering the casino it was overcrowded. There were herds of people you had to dodge every second. Good luck getting a slot machine too, they were all being used, and everyone was looking around to find one. If there was a max capacity limit in that building I’m pretty sure it was over that. My boyfriend and I finally found a couple machines open after 10 minutes. After using my free slot play, I hadn’t played for no longer than 30 seconds and someone hounded me to use the machine because I wasn’t playing it. I told him I was still playing it and I could see everyone was watching you. After that we wanted to leave. Even that was hard because we couldn’t find the machines to cash our tickets. After a few minutes we found it but the line was long.
We left and are never going back there again. Not worth the aggrevation. People are vultures in there.

Had a great time! Love that it is no smoking inside and there is live music. We ate at Flutie’s and enjoyed the food. The slots kept us playing for a while. The covered parking is easy to navigate and enter into the casino. All the staff was extremely friendly. It is a little small and no dealer porker tables yet, but they are working on that when I asked. Will definitely go back.

I went here with an open mind after reading the negative reviews. I was definitely not expecting it to be anything like Mohegan, but hopefully fun. Turns out the reviews were pretty much spot on about this place.
The slot selection is terrible — no movie or TV-​themed games. Just a lot of generic electronic ones. No one seemed to be winning anything substantial. At least at Mohegan, once in a while you’ll see someone winning hundreds or thousands. I find the lack of human-​manned table games strange and cold feeling. Although the crowd picked up by the afternoon, the atmosphere is a little depressing with mostly elderly people shuffling around. Lots of creepy guys, too. Other than two restaurants, there’s a food court with only three vendors. I can’t complain about the pizza I got at «Slice», however — it was good.
I should have bet on the harness racing, which I’ve done online and have much better luck with, or the electronic roulette. Two of the ladies I went with won back some of their money on the roulette wheels.
As others have noted, the staff is indeed very friendly. Also, I liked the fact that it is smoke-​free. Parking is no problem, and it’s literally right off of 495 — you can’t miss it. But the next time I feel like gambling, I’ll be making the excursion to Mohegan again.

Small, Not Bad
I know a lot of people that don’t like this place. It’s small and you can’t smoke indoors. These factors are a couple of reasons why I actually didn’t mind the place. It’s filled with new space aged slot machines that at the very least kept me entertained for a while.
There is one issue, the place is a bit dry. It has a couple of restaurant options but they have a bit of a cold feeling. I guess they have love music some nights, but not the night we went.
Overall:
Cool slot machines, but small and bit cold feeling. Free soft drink bar. Bartenders at the steakhouse treated us very well, food was nothing special. Not great, but not awful. Not rushing back.

I’m not a gambler at all, but thought for our anniversary my husband and I would try something new so went there to do the slots. I’ve been to only one other casino, Foxwoods in CT once before and it’s nothing in comparison to that, but I like that this casino is small. We went on a Saturday afternoon and found it not crowded at all. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We had no idea what we were doing, so they helped explain the ropes to us. haha.
The place has good energy to it and the set up is great. The restaurants are all surrounding the slots and you can even go eat to any one of them without even gambling. I enjoyed our time there.

What a hole! Every aspect of this place sucks, I’ve never been to a casino like this. The clientele looked like they were extras in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, this place is mutt city and the staff were as bad as the customers! In order to gauge just how bad this place is, the woman processing the courtesy cards was critical of the place and was lamenting the fact that she couldn’t have a beer because I placed my beer on the counter. Now it may be sad that this is a thing, every casino I’ve been in, the staff bartenders and wait staff are at least attractive…

Granted, I knew coming in here that it wasn’t going to be some blown out Mega casino like the ones I go to in Las Vegas. And the good ol’ state of Massachusetts for decades hadn’t had one, so it was interesting to see what it would be.
It’s a clean and standard casino, the one you could take your grandmother to without a problem, or take a first time gambler to test the ropes. The food court has a variety of foods which I liked. The slots were ok, didn’t win anything but that’s to be expected. Parking is a breeze and it’s close to the highway. So far so good.

Wow! I’m really surprised that everyone is complaining! I’ve been here twice and had the the time of my life both time!!! I won $ 650.00 the first time and $ 750.00 the second time. Not on slots on blackjack machines. I’m really not into playing slots. Slots is not really not my thing. You never really seem to win. However, when I walked off the elevator someone hit a slot machine for 1,500.00! So I’m not sure why everyone is bitching about this place.
It’s absolutely gorgeous inside. They have FREE soda, coffee or hot chocolate. The bathrooms are spotless. Not once did I wait in line on a Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM. There are plenty of staff walking around when my ticket got stuck in the machine. Literally, I waited less than a minute!!!
The food court is a little over priced. BUT, it’s actually pretty delicious! We had pizza at «SLICE» and it was fantastic. We also had a chocolate chip cookie that was yummy and $ 3.25.
Saw some complaints about the garage, too. I don’t know. we pulled in both times we were there and got a spot right away. Again, I’m not too sure why everyone is bitching. I guess everyone wants to complain about something.
My only complaint about this place is the constant yelling over the loudspeaker! It gets very annoying when you’re trying to play BlackJack! Every few minutes they’re screaming someone’s name that won something and you can’t concentrate on your gaming… I really would have given this place 5 stars!

This is an enjoyable, nicely laid out, and clean casino. Personally, I think it’s wonderful that it is smoke free! The air is clean and fresh, and not laden with the smell of burgers, french fries, fastfood and smoke.
I enjoy the roulette wheel and some select slots. I’ve had pretty good luck here too on pretty much every time I’ve been here. Make sure you get a play card when you enter to track your points. You accumulate money you can use at the restaurants or gift shop. Also, you get free bonus play with the card so make sure you give your email when you sign up too as this will be how you’re notified of free game play.
Entertainment here is not bad at all on the nights I have come! Kareoke is sometimes comical but there are also some very good people that get up and sing. I like the country music night.
There are free beverages in a few corners of the casino in case you find yourself thirsty… fountain soda, tea and coffee.
I haven’t eaten at Doug Flutie’s Sports Pub or Slack’s Oyster House & Grill yet, only the food court places. The pizza at Slice is surprisingly really good! Perfect amount of cheese and sauce isn’t acidic. For you money’s worth, it actually makes more sense to get a whole pizza rather than a slice. The Bean has pretty good specialty coffee beverages but I’ve had the same thing (chocolate frappé) 3x and each time it’s been a little different… hopefully there will be some consistency once the people working there get the hang of everything.B.Good has yummy fresh food. Had a great burger. No badly priced at all.
P. S. people complaining about Plainridge being smoke free, go out to your car, keep the windows up and smoke in there. Or better yet, just go back to twin. However, it might be smart to stop gambling and start saving your money for when you get lung cancer.

Deserve a 1, but giving them a two in hopes they just were unprepared for the popularity. Not sure why they would be, but BOTD for now.
I don’t go for slots I go for entertainment. First night, went to watch band and have a few drinks. Waited 30 minutes at bar without even an acknowledgment or eye contact. 3 people on the bar, first weekend of opening first legal casino on Massachusetts. Pi$$ poor planning. 2^nd time, July 4^th weekend –Doug fluties restaurant half empty but told over an hour wait. I just can’t believe the shitty service or lack thereof. Plenty of people looking for jobs out there… HIRE THEM and get yo shit together. Ain’t nobody got time to wait so long for food and drinks! Boooooooo !

Make sure u EAT BEFORE U GO… and I agree with another reviewer that stated half the machines were out of order!
Food court is horrendous .you would get a better slice of pizza at Cumberland farms.
Fluties Sports pub was the worst food we have ever had… and it took about an hr and a half for a rueben sandwich and a burger. WORST ONION RINGS ON THE PLANET and WINGS. someone needs to take those off the menu .DONT ORDER A DRINK! Mom ordered a grey goose Black Russian and there was a ½ teaspoon of liquor in it! we were told it is a measured pour… there were no servers and about 10 managers who seem to be doing nothing but standing around! We were told to try again in a month. no thanks!

The restaurants were so overpriced that it was comical. $ 98 for a 3 lb lobster? Come on.
Really.
If you like to gamble and live minutes away, then go.
Otherwise, hop a flight to Vegas.

Tight garage with people haunting you for spaces, apparently learning how to drive that day.
BATHROOMS: 1 STAR
This place was built from scratch, why on earth would they configure the bathrooms both on one wall, none on any other, with two urinals each? There was a line every time I went in. Don’t cut it too close or you might be utilizing the sink, like at Patriot’s games back in the day, «We are going in, we are going in full throttle.»
PUB: ZERO STARS
The high end restaurant was closed, so if one does not want to eat in the Food Court, one has one choice: Fluties. Good luck with that.
The people on the desk try not to meet your gaze. People waiting mill about in front of them so one does not know if one is behind someone in line or not. The woman with the goldish curls looked like her paw was caught in the tracks and the train was coming.
The wait was close to an hour. The place is ridiculously configured. Instead of having a modular system where most tables are for two, but they could be joined together to accommodate larger parties, this joint has tables with two sofa like chairs, that maybe would seat eight, but in fact were never occupied, while all the parties of two got to gnaw on napkins.
MACHINE VARIETY: 2 STARS
Since they are trying to get folks not to continue down the road to TR, my hopes were high for high end eye candy, like Alice in Wonderland at Foxwoods. FW is broke and would be bankrupt were they not tribal, but have a superior variety of machines somehow. I was also expecting many «play as a team» machines, like the fishing one at FW, or «Deal or No Deal» at TR, but uh uh.
I saw some machines I hadn’t seen before, «Ellen» (TV host), Wonder Woman, but the mechanics of how the games worked were the same as most others, nothing new or exciting. Just change a piece of glass and a bit of software and call it «new».
The virtual table games, noone is playing, because all players know that they don’t hit on real odds. Roulette is 38 possible with 0 and 00 and pays 35 to 1 in real steel ball, the computer ones don’t pay anywhere near that so people stay away. So why are there so many on the floor when one could have determined this by visiting nearby establishments in advance ?
SMOKING POLICY: 1 STAR
Know it all finger waggling types like Duvall decreed that Mass casinos are to be non smoking, despite the fact that they would never set foot in one. Another reason to drive to Little Rhodey.
The Revell in AC opened up with this inane policy too, and once they started taking on water they rescinded it, but it’s too late Baby.
TAX POLICY: 1 STAR
If one wins $ 1199 at TR, they will give you $ 1199. Not in Mass. The threshold is $ 600. Another reason to keepa go south. I give enough to layabouts thank you.
So what a surprising fumbling of the ball. I can’t imagine going back ever.

Plainville is a welcome addition to slot players who otherwise had to choose between Twin River and the more distant Connecticut casinos.
Visited midday on a weekday and there were plenty of players, particularly on the slots right near the parking entry area. I walked the full floor a few times and estimate about 80% slots and 20% virtual tables including blackjack (saw $ 10 — $ 25), roulette, craps, baccarat. The virtual tables had relatively few players at them, none at some of the games. The slots were all very current with lots of penny, two cent, nickel slots to choose from, alongside mostly quarter and dollar machines, and a pretty small high denomination area.
By comparison to the mix at other casinos, precious few video poker machines. There were 6 — 8 or so classic seated type at the one bar area, and maybe another 8 on the floor that I found. All of those were fully occupied and I didn’t get a chance to check out the pay tables. Plainridge could take a chunk out of the multiple roulette virtual table setups out and add more video poker, everyone would be happier.
Parking structure is off to the right from the entry drive, parking seemed tight but didn’t take too long to find a spot. They probably should have people advising what rows or levels to look on to make the arrival seem friendlier in the early days.
Signed up for the Marquee Rewards card which required a short walk to the track area but was quick to do once I got there. Did not eat at the restaurants, but didn’t see anything that looked enticing at all. Saw very few host/​hostesses on the floor to address questions or serve drinks.
Architecturally, probably the biggest miss is not elevating any part of the floor (restaurant, bar, etc) which detracts from the interest across the space or having a logical centerpiece, meeting place, or just center of attention and energy. Stairs should also be next to the parking elevators, but aren’t. Not sure if the elevators will back up at busiest times. Left-​hand turn to get out of the parking garage back to the driveway to the main road is not protected, doomed to fender benders every few weeks I would say.
Recommendations:
— Map showing where certain machine types are available on the floor
— More video poker, fewer virtual tables particularly roulette
— Virtual tables audio far too quiet, and machines were generally quiet as well
— More hosts /​hostesses. Are drinks not profitable too?
