Very good selections and great prices. Not a bad thing there and very friendly customer service.

Tried a few different pies for Christmas and was not impressed. The apple pie was soo bland! There was def enough cinnamon but I couldn’t taste any sugar at all. The crust was bland too. I liked the chocolate cream but it was very hard to cut thru the crust. The lemon meringue had a tasty filling but the meringue part kinda liquified as you ate it which was strange. Overall I wouldn’t pay for these pies. Local grocery stores make a better pie. Glad it wasn’t my money that was wasted.

I am completely taken back by how rude and inconsiderate the owner of this business is. I came down to get a birthday cake for my 9 year old son’s birthday. I asked a simple question if they had any plain vanilla cakes with vanilla frosting. Both the girl in the front and the owner snapped at me. I just asked if there would be any others tomorrow morning. She said to me special orders need to be put in 48 hours prior. There is absolutely no friendliness at this place., they all acted as if they hated their jobs. I will be telling everybody I know experience I had in the attitude I got into find another place.

Always buy our bd cakes here. Son still lives 2 hrs away and gets the cappachino cake here. I visit at least once or twice a week for coffee and dessert. As well as meet new/potential clients here. Never disappointed in any item we buy. Worth a trip. Prices range from 35 cents to $ 24.95 for the decorated case cakes. Specialty cakes are more of course. Like wedding, shower or special bd ones. This is owned by 2 women, Kerri and Jo they also have a great staff and family also work there. Also great asst holiday items for all holidays. They know me by name and likes. Also serve very fresh hot and cold coffee and teas. Reg and flavored. Have table and chairs for enjoying the items. Also books to look at pick out your cakes or get ideas from for your special occasion.

Great selection of traditional as well as some creative and unexpected treats! I’ve never had their cakes, but as a former baker myself, I can tell you they really have some great items made by people who care about what they do. A great way to spend a rainy day with the kids along with Annie’s Book store next door…

The staff here is very nice, good selection and prices. I liked the brownie and apple turnover ok. Everything else, not so much. The raspberry turnover was not as soft as the apple and I didn’t love the jam in the turnover and shortbread cookie. Not terrible but not great. The chocolate rasberry truffle piece was also not great. A good dessert should always make you want more than one bite. Then I got what seems to be a bismark with spoiled pastry cream. It had an immediately off taste to it, the cream by itself. That definitely went in the trash, 1 star. There are better bakeries in the area so not worth a return visit unfortunately. I finished the brownie and apple turnover, everything else was tossed.

I just recently got a cake from here for my son’s first birthday. I was very disappointed. The cake looked like he decorated it himself! It was not the colors that I asked for and you could not even read his name. The frosting was not very good but the cake it self was very moist. I was extremely disappointed with this cake and will not be ordering from here again. It was definitely not worth the money I paid!

A solid bakery. We’d always get birthday cakes at the Pastry Box when I was a kid, and they were consistently very good. I always liked the pre-made, fancier cakes more than the standard, made-to-order ones. My only beef is that we went there for years and years, multiplied by 5 birthdays, AKA4 – 5 cakes per year, and they never asked«Hey, you’re pretty loyal customers — can I get your name and address so we can send you an occasional coupon?» or said«Here are a couple of pastries on the house, just because we appreciate your business.» It could be a place where they know your name and make you never want to go anywhere else. Alas, it’s not quite that. I actually live closer to PB now than I did when I was growing up, and my fiancée and I occasionally get pastries there. We don’t really order birthday cakes from anywhere any more. If we did, we’d probably get them from PB occasionally(but not exclusively).

I keep on wanting this place to be great, but always so disappointed… There is so much to choose from and everything looks unbelievable… But then you start to eat it, and it’s just ok… And for just ok, id rather buy somewhere else…

The Pastry Box is a fabulous little bakery tucked in a strip of stores in Man-Mar Plaza in Plainville right off the intersection of 106 and 152. I basically cut through the little strip between Dunkin’ Donuts and Honey Dew and they’re down a bit on the left. We have purchased all of our birthday cakes, hostess goodies and personal«prizes» there since this wonderful bakery opened. The staff is delightful and knowledgeable about all of their items. The«family favorites» are the Pie Crusts, Frosted Brownies, Cinnamon Strudel Coffee Cake, Half Moons, Congo Bars”…and I could go on and on. Their cakes are moist and tasty and candles can always be popped on for an impromptu birthday cake. They do take orders in advance for special birthday cakes. Just so you are prepared, they do not take credit cards. They have been taking checks, but I would check on that. The prices are excellent and you get a lot of goodness for your money. Suffice to say, we are frequent flyers and always look forward to buying a cup of their coffee to go so we can eat a Pastry Box Goody in the car. You never know what interesting new items might be there… cookies to go with an upcoming holiday, cupcakes, etc. Check it out. We’ve referred a lot of people; everyone has been delighted with their pastries.

A very yummy little bakery in Plainville, my boyfriend and I like to stop in here every couple of weeks for a breakfast or dessert treat. All of their breakfast-type items are delicious(my favorite is the Cinnamon Strudel Coffee Cake) and their regular desserts are amazing as well. I’ve sampled their Peanut Butter Finger, Cheesecake Brownie, Congo Bar, and carrot cake, and all are great. The Cheesecake Brownie is huge. It doesn’t look nearly as big in the glass case as it actually is — it’s layers of brownie(obviously), cheesecake, more brownie, and then what looks like Oreo-ish bits on top. It’s delicious, but SO filling! Their carrot cake is the best I’ve ever had — nice and moist with really yummy cream cheese frosting. Plus, they usually have seasonal items. When we were in there on Saturday, they had jack-o-lantern cookies as well as cupcakes with candy corn on top. During the summer they had mocha– and creamsicle-flavored cupcakes. Overall, extremely cheap pastries at an incredibly good price. If you’re ever in the area, I suggest stopping by there(and North End Deli, a few stores down in the same plaza), you will not be sorry!

The Pastry Box is a great little bakery to satisfy the sweet tooth. Tucked in a long strip plaza, The Pastry Box offers a nice display and good selection of individual pastries, danishes, muffins, cakes, pies, cookies, and more baked goods. They also offer custom cakes and pastries for all occasions. The prices here are very reasonable(most individual items $ 0.95-$ 2.50 each) for the good quality sweets offered. The service is very good and helpful. I’ve had their Chocolate Torte(very rich), Apple Strudel, Carrot Cake, Elephant Horns, and Lemon Meringue Tarts, all very good desserts I’ve enjoyed with my after dinner coffee drinks.
