In addition to carrying the entire Hunter Douglas product line as an exclusive Alustra Dealer, Melani’s Moods specializes in custom drapery, cornices, valances, bedding, pillows, headboards, upholstery, re-​upholstery and more.

History

Established in 1978.

Our daughter Melani was just a year old when we decided to open our original store in Mineola and name it after her. Over 30 years ago, Melani’s Moods began with the introduction of silk screen wall-​hangings and fabric art, which was all the rage in 70’s home and office décor. As customer demands grew, so did our business. We expanded our horizons to offer quality workmanship of custom-​made home design products. Setting ourselves apart from traditional fabric stores, we developed our own custom workroom on premises and began to specialize in top treatments, bedding, pillows, drapery and more.

Since the opening of our first store, home décor has evolved. Keeping abreast with the latest trends and product innovations, we continually attend training sessions, seminars and design showcases. In the 30 years since we first opened our doors, we have had the pleasure of beautifying thousands of homes and offices from Montauk to Manhattan and beyond.
