I just read a review from another one of Dr. Entin’s «victims», why I say victim instead of patient is because we too suffered needlessly due to his lack of care, knowledge and judgement. I was referred to him by my internist because I was very suddenly experiencing paralysis. Beginning with my feet and continuing through my extremities very rapidly. Literally overnight I could no longer walk and went to his office assisted by my 2 grown daughters and a walker. It was terrifying to say the least. We all thought the worst and after we went through details of how this began, what we saw, how I felt and my own medical history and family back round, he took me to a room to run tests on my nerve system. He then gave me a presciption to have a «lumbar MRI» and told me to call back in a WEEK! REALLY??? That is not even logical in the circumstances I was in, clearly something is VERY WRONG! The next morning my daughter’s took me for that MRI and demanded it be reviewed and sent to the doctor that day. Dr. Entin’s office was closed, so we had it read by the radiologist, it indicated nothing. Feeling exasperated as the paralysis was continuing to spread we went to an emergency room of an established hospital. They suspected the illness «Guillain Barre» and a battery of tests performed immediately confirmed the diagnosis. I was admitted and treated with an infusion that stops the illness from progressing. Ultimately this illness will paralize the diaphram, which cuts off your air intake and you die. Anyone suspected of having this illness is usually sent immediately to a hospital due to this rapid onset. I have come to find out I was a «classic» case, all the usual symptoms. I was even diagnosed over the phone by another neurologist who resides out of state and is a friend of the family, he told us to go immediately to a well established hospital. This illness is usually diagnosed by a neurologist, it is in his field of expertise. Scary that a clearcut, obvious case of this illness that neurologists are educated about, he failed to diagnose. Because there was a delay in getting the proper treatment I have not fully recovered and now suffer with permanent paralysis in my hands and feet. It causes many complications in my life, I have trouble walking, I am often off balance and fall easily. I can not cut foods with a knife and sometimes have trouble feeding myself. I am widowed and live alone, I care for myself, every single day is a struggle, I have to now accept that as my life. Certainly if I had proper care sooner my outcome would have likely been quite different. Most people fully recover after a long battle, I have not. It has been 5 years and I have been to other neurologists that have tried to help but there is nothing that can be done. The delay in treatment cost me precious time in stopping the damage to my nervous system. My family and myself also tried to reach this cowardly, inept doctor. It is unjust that he practices medicine.

Worst neurologist I have ever had the displeasure of going to. My anesthesiologist (certified in pain management) suspected I had trigeminal neuralgia (an extremely painful neurological condition in which one or more blood vessels presses on the trigeminal nerve, which is the 5^th cranial nerve and causes electric shock like pain that is excruciating). Anything can trigger the pain-​it actually started with my upper left, last tooth and the pain radiated up (that’s how my doctor, dentist and oral surgeon knew it wasn’t a dental problem). I couldn’t touch or wash my face without a pain trigger, I couldn’t sleep or have the wind blow on that side of my face and so on. Actually they call it the suicide disease because the pain is so horrible (and doesn’t respond to narcotics) some people would kill themselves!
My pain management doctor referred me to a neurologist. Sadly the neurologist he referred me to didn’t accept my insurance so I went to my primary care doctor to get a referral to the neurologist he sends his patients to. Well I would have been better off paying out of pocket going to the neurologist my pain management doctor referred me to.
Dr Entin had to be the worst doctor I had ever been to (to this day)! He didn’t ask me if I had any symptoms of trigemnial neuralgia (I am going to refer to it as TN from here on out) and the ONLY reason why I went to see him. I get tension headaches but they are treated by my pain doctor, yet Dr Entin decided he wanted to talk about the whole appointment. Anyway he did those usual neuro tests and ordered an MRI and an EEG. After the first AND only appointment I NEVER heard from him again, not even to get the MRI results back.
He messed up big time because the MRI place not only sent the results to him, but they sent the results to me as well (at my request (for a small fee. Turns out I did indeed have TN and it was a pretty bad case of it. My pain management doctor found another (amazing) neurologist that took my insurance, took one look at the MRI that Dr Entin (probably didn’t even look at let alone call me with the results) and told me I had Trigeminal Neuralgia. The new neurologist put me on a couple of medications which unfortunately didn’t work for my pain (and they had side effects that left a lot to be desired). So he tried another combination of medications which again didn’t work and had bad side effects. So he then referred me to the best neurosurgeon in the tri-​state area.
I ended up having surgery which was a success. If only this inept Dr Entin got back to me about the MRI I wouldn’t have had to suffer for as long as I did (I called him numerous times, my mother even called him numerous times). We EVEN went down to the office but he refused to see us. I don’t what we did to piss him off, I was NOTHING but nice to him and did whatever test he ask me to do and he never got back to me. My mom thought maybe he was busy or on vacation, but after two months of not hearing a damn thing from him all ties were cut from him and I am glad I did because he was nothing but a jerk. DO NOT see this doctor, not even for migraines or cluster headaches hell I wouldn’t see him for a glass of water.
