History
Established in 2010.
When Samantha Beach decided to carry on the family baking tradition and open a cake shop, she chose the quaint town of Plainview, MN. She set roots and created a colorful and whimsical space in which she fashions the most delicious and delectable creations. Her cake shop at 221 W. Broadway was built in 1880 and has been renovated with much TLC.
Samantha Beach decided that she would carry on the family tradition of baking exquisite and delicious baked goods, following in her grandfather’s, grandmother’s and mother’s foot steps.
Samantha graduated from Winona State University in 2009 with a degree in Sociology and Gerontology. After several years of working with people with disabilities, Samantha decided to return to the family roots and open her own Cake Shop in Plainview, MN on April 24, 2010.
Samantha brings this rich multi-generational experience to her Cake Shop. With many years as a baker, designer, and decorator, Sam creates unique, one-of-a-kind cakes and cupcakes.

Their daughter, Nancy (Beach), also worked at Randall’s Bakery, starting in 1964, as the head decorator for over 20 years. After working at Randall’s, she helped start Market Foods Bakery. Nancy opened her own Cake Shop from 2000 to 2005, along with Samantha, in the Center Court of the Kennsington Building in Winona. Nancy also made cakes out of her home for many years and has made nearly 4,000 wedding cakes.
