We provide services for seniors by seniors. We provide companionship; we do cooking, cleaning, light house-​keeping and yard work; we run errands and provide transportation. We help seniors live an independent life in the comfort of their own homes for as long as possible.

History

Established in 2013.

Seniors Helping Seniors was founded in 1998 by Kiran Yocom. She has worked with Mother Teresa in India for 14 years. The Plainfield, IL center was established in 2013 to continue with the long tradition of caring. We provide in home care for seniors by seniors, so seniors can live in the comfort of their homes for as long as possible. This helps them to lead an independent lifestyle. It is a way to give and receive. The seniors who work for us are loving, caring and compassionate and want to help others.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Surya has worked in the IT sector for more than 15 years. He grew up in Calcutta, India, and moved to the USA in 2003. He set up a Seniors Helping Seniors center in Plainfield, IL, so he could work with senior citizens in this region.

Surya’s parents live in India. Since he cannot do much to help his parents, he wants to help the parents of others, who are just like him — not able to be with their parents. Seniors Helping Seniors offers in-​home care for seniors by seniors. We offer services like light housekeeping, cooking, cleaning, transportation, yard work and small home repairs at a fair and reasonable price.

Since the people working for us are also seniors who are willing and able to help, there is an instant bonding between the person helping and the person getting the help. It is a great way to give and to receive. All seniors working for us are background checked and carefully selected to guarantee the care that seniors deserve.
