See-More TV & Appliance Center

The original See-​More store in Metuchen has been in business as long as I can remember. This second, satellite location in Plainfield opened four months ago. Although the showroom is smaller than the Metuchen store, they have a decent selection of consumer-​grade refrigerators, ranges, microwaves, dishwashers, and washers & dryers on display, and are dealers for many additional upscale lines beyond the what their store space allows.
I bought a new Kitchen Aid freestanding electric range with a glass cooktop and double convection oven. Right off the bat, they offered me a 25% discount below retail, and delivered and installed it less than two days later. The sales consultant, Victor, was professional and polite, as were the installers, who also hauled away my old POS Jenn-​Air range.
The buying experience here was hassle-​free, with pricing at or below what you’d find at the big box and specialty stores, and with no haggling. Also, the sales tax at this location is only 3.5% vs. the standard 7% for NJ, which encourages commerce in Plainfield, a community in need of an economic shot-​in-​the-​arm.
