History
Established in 1925.
The Library was founded in 1925 when Ebanezer and Celeste Nimmons bequethed $ 25,000 to the Village for a tax-supported library. In 1977 a library was established for those living outside the village boundaries. These two libraries were combined, creating the Plainfield Library District in 1988. The Library District now serves (in 2010), over 65,000 residents.
