In 2000 I was pulled over by 4PPD squad cars near the high school. It was around 1 am, about 20 below in February. I was taking my two brothers and cousin home from being at my mothers house after getting off a very long night working at Applebees, still dressed in my black chefware work clothes. The officers approached my vehicle(an oldsmobile delta 88 sedan, not a race car or suv) with weapons drawn and made all of us step out into the freezing night air. As we sat there, I asked what the basis for their stop was and was told I didnt stop at a stop sign, which was a flat out lie. One officer proceeded to call me a Nazi due to the fact that I was wearing all black while another officer named Ty Van Wagner was tearing my car apart. Victoriously claiming they had a federal charge against me for drug possesion, they took me and three kids between the ages of 12 – 16 to jail. While I was being processed I demanded to see the evidence; what was produced was a clump of what proved to be dirt and grass and a pipe that was used as a prop for a Sherlock Holmes costume(the rest of the costume was there as well) that that was in a box in my trunk. Van Wagner even tried to pull out some manual he had that showed charges for different schedules of drugs and found out he was wrong in his«federal charge» nonsense. I was booked, spent 3 days in jail and would have just been in there had a family member not bailed me out. Id never had any prior arrests for anything, had no drugs, no paraphernalia… nothing. I went to court and was charged with possesion of paraphernalia even though there was no corresponding evidence. I had to pay fines, had my license suspended and nearly lost my job for missing shifts while in jail. Plainfield doesnt need to worry about gangs or violent minorities encroaching on its perfect little utopia… you’ve already got a gang causing problems in your community and have had for years, your police department. These goons are not there to protect and serve, they are there to issue tickets on main st. This department is a disgrace to law enforcement.
