Big O Tire Stores

Fantastic service. I’ve never been disappointed going here. Their staff is amazing, they remember you when you show up. They do not try to sell you things you don’t need, and they are prompt and efficient. I have every other oil change free with my car at the dealer, but this is far worth the money spent to be in and out at my convenience. If you haven’t been to Big O in Plainfield, I encourage you to stop and experience great service!

The store gets 5 stars, my car dealership– not so much. Apparently the new vehicle has a specialty tire that requires a specialty fit. So when I got a nail in the side of the tire– it was a special order. The dealer was useless– and could get me a tire in 4 days maybe so «drive careful and check the air». Across the street I go, they can have my tire tomorrow from their warehouse– $ 30.00 cheaper. The sales person/​installer hands me a card– with a cell number and says if I have any trouble on my way home to please call them if I need any help? Really? I was completely stunned, I’ve never had this type of service. Sure, that’s not typical of a chain, not required, but something that might have been a random kindness. Either way it was appreciated.

After all the follow up the store came through and we came up with a solution on the damaged wheels. The replaced one wheel and I agreed to have the other three polished and re-​coated with a sealant. They have stepped up and taken care of the problem. Thanks for taking care of the problem Josh.

Stopped in mid-​morning on a Saturday. The amount of vehicles out front didn’t indicate how truly busy they were.
We took out spot and got comfy for the hour-​long (or so) wait. The waiting room is equipped with coffee, magazines and other weirdos.
The main guy on duty, Chad, I assume is a manager, but if he isn’t he should be. He really kept things running smoothly, quickly navigating between the front to help his customers and the back to lend a hand.
He was great with juggling the people, making sure they were happy. He really impressed me.
Oil change was done right and fairly priced.

Let me start with the most important info in case you’re in a hurry. If I could give 6 stars I would.
I’ve been going here for years. The customer service you get at this big o is not even comparable to what you get at any other service garage.
I stopped in one day about 10 years ago because I had a flat tire. About an hour wait to get it looked at. Understandable. Since it’s walking distance to several business and they offer to drop you off and pick you up on top of that, it was definitely no big deal.
When it was ready, they told me I had a nail in the tire and they fixed it. I inquired about the price. NO CHARGE. what? Really? Fast forward 10 years and 4 vehicles, I’ve been here several times for the same service. Always the same result.
Now a days, I live about 30 miles from this location. I recently got a flat tire. I installed my spare and drove here. It’s worth it.
Do they have the best price on every service? No. But they have proven to be 25% cheaper on major repairs, perform these tire services for free, and are market priced for other services. Plus you get outstanding service and an answer you can trust and believe. So, I make my way here for every service that doesn’t require the dealer.
If you need ANY work done, check here first. If it’s a tire issue, don’t even consider going somewhere else.

Big O Tires: a Big O Help to road-​trippers everywhere!
I have been gearin’ up all week for a road-​trip to Nashville, Tennessee and the top of my To Do list was to get my car checked out before hitting the pavement. I had been to a different Big O Tires on a work-​related mission before and had a positive experience, so I decided to give the Plainfield guys a try.
While I cannot remember the name of the mechanic who helped me out, I cannot forget the smile he and his coworkers put on my face as I left. Other auto care places have been full of BS, the sales guys try and sell me extra parts & labor that my car does not need – and for the stuff it DOES need – they over charge. When I go to get my car looked at, I know what I want and I do not want to be pitched any extra add-​ons. The Plainfield rep I dealt with was a very straight-​shooter and got the inspection I requested done quickly and efficiently.
There were a few other cars in line when I brought my car in, but I still managed to be in-​and-​out within an hour or so. It was the perfect amount of time for me to walk across 40 to Chik-​Fil-​A for a bite, chillax for a few minutes, and make a phone call. Once the inspection was finished, the rep came out into the lobby with a visual diagram of my car’s alignment and brake systems (among other variables). I had never had a mechanic provide me with a diagram before, and it really helped me see that the one thing needing fixed, the alignment, did indeed need to be fixed. The inspection was FREE, and the re-​alignment was $ 69.99. My bill with tax was $ 85 and some change.
I walked out of the door without breaking the bank and having confidence that my car was road-​trip ready. The mechanics weren’t bad to look at either while I waited… helllOOOO EYE CANDY.

I have to give these guys — Ryan and his coworkers — a HUGE thank you from Kansas! We stopped in here a few minutes after they had just closed at 5pm, urgently needing a tire repair.
We were traveling back from Lancaster, PA to Kansas. One of our tires had a recurring Tire Pressure Warning Light. (Thank heavens for these new safety features!) Tires often need a pound or two of air once in while, so the first time it came on, we didn’t think much of it. When it came on a 2^nd time the next day we knew there had to be a slow leak of some kind.
We stopped at Walmart. Walmart declined to repair the tire and instead tried to sell us a new set. Mind you, these were fairly new Michelin tires worth about $ 150 each. I’ve had this response previously on a different car at Walmart, so I think perhaps Walmart’s policy now is to push new tires only and not to repair anything they haven’t sold. I think now maybe Walmart will be my last choice for tire repair!
Big O had just closed, but offered to look at the tire anyway. We explained we were several states from home and needed something done since we still had hundreds of miles to drive in the dark. They had the tire properly repaired to DOT standards in about 15 minutes, and declined to charge us anything because it was after hours.
So guys, here’s your payment-​in-​kind! Kansas City could use a team like these guys!

Excellent repair and service departments. Mobil1 oil change shop second to none. Chad very friendly and efficient.

This place has a very friendly staff. I’ve been working in Plainfield for 8 years and get all of my oil changes here. They seem to be very honest and forthcoming. A lot of maintenace places seem like they are out to rip you off, but not this place. I’ve actually had several people I work with go there and have great experiences too.
If you have a leak in a tire take it here and they’ll patch it for free!
