Animal Clinic of Plainfield

Animal Clinic of Plainfield is the best. I have been bringing my dog here for about 7 years after moving from Philly. They have been so good to him as he’s grown into an old man and during a few scares. They are kind, patient and loving to the dogs and the owners! I highly recommend these awesome doctors and techs!

Best place on the west side of Indianapolis to take your pets! Staff is kind, loving, and passionate about their jobs. For our annual checkup this year, we had to wait a little longer than normal because an emergency case came in and needed help ASAP — we didn’t mind waiting at all and it made us feel even better knowing the staff would do the same for us! Would recommend time and time again.

We love this place! The staff is amazing from the front desk to the doctors. You walk in feeling like they care about your pets as much as you do. We have always gotten in when we need without a long wait and same day in emergencies too. I wouldn’t take my animals anywhere else!

I have been bringing my animals here for over 2 years now. When we first moved here, we needed a vet due to an emergency situation. We found Dr. Koehlinger. She is amazing. She’s compassionate and will tell you how it is. We have been through a few surgeries and we get updates right away. I have never felt uneasy leaving any of my animals here.
The prices seem to be on the steeper side, but we can’t beat the service. They get us in as soon as possible when needed. Our dogs even love going. I would highly recommend!

Both docs are knowledgeable, trustworthy, and really care about the health and well being of our animals. They break down the pricing to make sure you know exactly what is involved before proceeding with care, which is nice. Capable of treating and diagnosing everything that’s come up, including dietary problems.
Our cats both developed digestive problems as kittens. After another clinic was unable to resolve, we came to ACOP where they prescribed a grain free diet that finally took care of the issue.
As a bonus, Dr. Deckard is familiar with the greyhound breed and their specific needs. Also they never use barbiturates. We will bring our animals here as long as we live in Greater Indy.

We absolutely love this place! They are caring, very flexible with appointments and they love Callie! They listen to your concerns, answer your questions and really care about your furry family member!

We have taken our cats here for several years and always get excellent care. Would highly recommend.

Just dropped off our cat Michael for a tooth extraction and I’m happy to say I’m not worried in the least!
Yes– this place is a little pricey– if you’re looking for a place to drag in your litter of feral barn cats for their shots, this might not be for you. That being said, money is not flowing in excess at our house and we are still happy to afford the great care this place has provided thus far. We have brought all three cats in for their yearly exam/​shots and it did not break the bank; seemed competitive to the vet we had been going to downtown.
I had some concerns about anesthesia and the general care and recovery animals get coming out of surgery (I’ve interned in the vet world and I can say– not all places are equal). Cats seem to be particularly vulnerable to the disorientation a procedure can cause and both Dr. Deckard and Dr. Hopper were able to assuage my concerns. They are using human-​grade stuff; I have a feeling they are on the cutting edge of the animal pharma world. As the other Unilocalers stated; they do offer a tour upon your first visit. Everything is very clean and well kept. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Dr. Hopper herself came out to see me as I dropped Michael off, assuring me that he was in good hands. Very nice touch. If you have any anxiety about your pets’ care at the vet, I think you would do well to give Animal Clinic a try.

We LOVE ACOP! We moved to Plainfield in April, 2013. In May I began searching for a vet and came across ACOP and their great online reviews. We also lived less than 3 blocks from the clinic, so that was a huge plus! The wonderful reviews I read were spot on. We couldn’t have been happier clients! We’ve since moved from the area, but truly miss Dr. Koehlinger and her expertise, as well as the rest of the super-​friendly staff.
Making appointments was very easy; they always sent reminder cards and were quick to respond to emails, return phone calls, etc. The facility is extremely clean and during our first visit I was even given a tour! *I have never been given tours at any other vet clinic, so this was very much appreciated.* We also boarded our dog here for a weekend and things went smoothly.
Thankfully our pets aren’t on daily medications; the few medications we did have to purchase from ACOP seemed pricey, so I would suggest checking prices at a pharmacy before you purchase from the vet. Not sure how pricing is at other animal clinics in the Plainfield/​Avon area for services and/​or meds, so if you’re on the cheaper side when it comes to you pets, so may end up going elsewhere.
ACOP has a lot of new, state-​of-​the art technology. They could sucessfully handle every procedure & test our pets needed right at their location; often times your are referred elsewhere because many clinics don’t offer advanced testing, nor do they have the equipment (at least not in small towns).
We don’t skimp when it comes to the care and well-​being of our pets. ACOP isn’t cheap, but it might be competitive as far as area pricing-can’t say for sure. Either way, we would return as clients in a heartbeat if we’re ever in the area again. A+!!! We miss you, Dr. K.
