Home Depot are all crooks don’t purchase any items that have a warranty because they do not honor it even with the receipt

We went in yesterday to see what options were available for kitchen cabinet inserts. The «designers» were more interested in sitting at their desks and chatting than actually helping. She looked us over, apparently decided we weren’t worth her time (we were both dressed for errands — not in our grubbier), and told us we should probably just order from the rev-​a-​shelf website and find a handyman to install it.
We will NEVER go back to this location.

Have been going to the Placerville Home Depot since 2012. I never have any issues, but I will say that my husband and I are experienced DIY’ers, so we almost always know what we need and where to find it. The few times we’ve needed assistance, we’ve been able to find someone to help. We use the panel saw service frequently and are always happy with the results. We occasionally have the guys out front help us load bulky or heavy items and they always do a fine job. Recently ordered a cooktop for our current kitchen remodel project — was delivered as promised with no issues or damage. No complaints so far.

My experience on Monday 4÷27÷15 in the Garden Department really was an eye opener for me. It was around 4:00 pm and I went into the Garden area to buy some lavender. To my surprise I found a ground cover I had been looking for but no price. So with my past experience at HD I new that their associates would be there to help so I looked around. I saw an associate in the area not busy with a customer so I proceeded to go ask her the price. She became irritated acting like why would be asking for the price then she walked over to a to a register to scan the plant. She scanned it then tossed it back to me telling me the price and slammed the scanner into its holder. I was so taken back I didn’t say a word. I thought to myself after I made my purchase from a male associate that HD prides themselves on good customer service and that was a horrible example. If I hadn’t wanted my plants I would of walked right out of the store and not bought a thing all due to the rude demeanor of this female associate and how she treated me.

DO NOT GO TO HOME DEPOT FOR YOUR REMODEL! This should have been a happy, exciting experience-​getting my dream kitchen – but I am so stressed-​out and sad, ALL thanks to Home Depot. The designer messed up and I will not have the pull-​out pantry I asked for. The Contractor messed up and we had to hire our own to fix things. And yes, we were charged for the same work by HD.
Don’t get me wrong, I expected a few mishaps, even mistakes. The thing that makes me the most angry is spending over $ 18,000 at Home Depot and they couldn’t care less about making things right.
The saddest part is this dream kitchen of mine was a gift from my husband. Now, I hesitate to complain because he has to deal with it. All he wanted to do was make me happy. That’ll teach him.
(Side note: The delivery guys and builders have been very nice and efficient. It seems it’s the store manager, designer & contractor that have their heads where the sun don’t shine.)
As far as I’m concerned, HOME DEPOT OWES MY HUSBAND AN APOLOGY!
***It is now 7 months since our remodel. There have been a couple cursory attempts to resolve some issues and refund some money. They have still not replaced the damaged cabinet door – the new one is sitting in my living room in a box. The worker they sent out to replace the damaged crown molding did not understand the job and made it worse.
It seems Home Depot management is hoping I will just go away. And, I have decided to do just that. It is not worth the stress. Our concerns have not been resolved, and Home Depot has no intention of making things right, so please use this review as a cautionary tale.

Love it, glad we have it. I also know about a lot of things this store does to help our community.

Its unfortunatle that we don’t have an alternative to this place. I dread coming here because the customer service is non existant. You could drop dead of a stroke in some aisle and they woudn’t find you until next summer.
All their outdoor stuff is covered with birdshit. (there are remedies for that if management gave a fuck about the appearence of the store)

WOW, I am so surprised at the low reviews. My husband and I have had really great experiences at this HD. My first visit they had free hot dogs and bottled water as you walk in the store so yeah, maybe I am slightly biased… :)
Seriously though, the service has been as good and sometimes much better than our old HD in Roseville. The people that work there are really nice and always seem willing to help. I have a feeling they have more foot traffic and maybe spreads the service thin.
We are happy with this store and happy to have one in the area of our new home!

The only reason we come here is because they’re the only big place in town, but I wish we had a Lowe’s. It’s always hard to find what we need, and even harder to get a person to direct us. I was crutching around with a broken leg and still had two different workers look the other way as I came toward them to ask where things were located. I was hoping to avoid my usual 4 – 5 lap journey around the store to get everything on my list, but not this time. It’s almost worth the drive to go to Lowe’s in Folsom instead… much better customer service.

I have to say, Home Depot is my favorite store! I’m always doing some sort of project. This trip though was over the top. The customer service I received was amazing. I’d like to give a big thank you to Shon. He helped bring my project to life. This store will continue to be my favorite thanks to good help like Shon.

I went here Sunday to buy some plants, I could not believe my eyes, a lot of the plants where dried up, needed water and so many staff just standing around. ONE MORE VERY BAD OBSERVATION, I HAD TO USE THE RESTROOM AND OMG THE TOILET HAD POOP ALL OVER LIKE SOMEONE HAD GOTTEN SICK (diarrhea) and the floors hadn’t been cleaned, sink was filthy Where is the health department on some of these retailers. This store does not deserve 1star. I will stay with Front yard Nursery.

Every time I go in this place I have to fend for myself. I get more help from the men standing in the isle with me than I ever can chasing down an employee. One time I asked someone where something was and he said I don’t know, that’s not my department, and then he walked off???

I have had very bad luck at this store compared to other Home Depots in the Sacramento area. Trying to get help or just find a HD employee is like pulling teeth!
That being said, there are some VERY nice /​helpful people that work at the Placerville Home Depot, but as a whole, this store needs more employees and is lacking some customer service.

Paint department is horrible! I waited patiently at the counter while they were mixing other customers orders. I was never acknowledged or spoken to. (How hard is it to say, «be with you in a minute».) finally, after about ten minutes, a guy walks up to the side of the kiosk and the girl, Ashley, immediately helps him. He leaves, the girl just looks at me then starts to turn around. I said, «I need help.» She just looked back at me then proceeded to turn and walk away. I walked away too, and down the street to another hardware store.
Incredible! I believe Steve was the other one at the counter. He was mixing paint like crazy, but never once looked up at anyone.
Absolutely pathetic customer service.

My husband just got home from picking up some supplies for a couple is projects he’s working on. He needed some wood to make some frames for me, and had wonderful service in that department… and then it went downhill from there.
He was looking for a small can of enamel paint to make a sign for a neighbor… couldn’t find a purple that was dark enough, so the employee suggested he get a can of spray paint, and just spray it into a paper cup and then apply it to the sign with a brush. Hmmm, never thought of that!!! Well, there’s probably a reason for that… the paint bled into the wood and the sign was ruined.
When he took his purchases to the cash register, an employee kept trying to get him to use the ‘do it yourself’ register. «No thanks, I’ll stay with the regular register…». And she kept insisting. So he went to the ‘contractor’ register, and the cashier told him he couldn’t’ t be there, because he’s not a contractor… What??? How could she possibly know that??? So he asked her that question, and she said, «OK, what’s the name of tumour business???» Thankfully, the cashier at the ‘regular’ register told him to let her take care of him…
So, Home Depot is not high on our list of ‘consumer-​friendly’ businesses at this time — between Placerville Hardware and Wal-​Mart, and the occasional trip down the hill to Lowe’s, we’ll be able to meet all our hardware/​crafting/​hobby needs.

We just moved to Placerville. We came to this HD for paint, paint supplies and other basic home goods. I found the blonde lady at the paint department nice and helpful. She recommended paint to me and pointed out things that I would need to start. BD and I didn’t have a difficult time finding the rest of our stuff and checking out was smooth and easy. I’m glad there’s a HD nearby for our future home improvements. I read the other reviews and will be on guard when it comes to buying appliances or renovating projects. Carson City’s HD is awful when it comes to that, too.

This post is regarding the kitchen and bath design center. I would have given zero stars, but decided they deserve at least one star because of their two designers, Jim and Christy. These two employees are nice and attempt to help you. From there, it goes down hill. We suggest you NEVER attempt to have Home Depot design and install your remodeling needs. We have spent the past two months spinning our wheels due to their rude and incompetent contractor, Jerzy, and their lie-​to-​your-​face management team. After several trips back and forth from Cool to Placerville, attempting to design our bathroom remodel and ordering the necessary items, we still have a gutted bathroom. To start with, the contractor made a grave error when measuring our space to make sure the vanities we designed would fit. He neglected to measure the plumbing! We have attempted for a month and a half to get a correct quote for the installation charges, but these estimates have been riddled with mistakes, duplicate charges, inapplicable charges, etc. Even after sitting down with three managers, the contractor, and the designer, the problems continued. During this meeting we were told that the plumbing issues with the vanities would be handled by HD, at no extra charge to us. One week later, we received an email (not even a face-​to-​face or phone call) stating that after further review HD cannot install our bathroom remodel, including the vanities that they assured us they would take care of! There are too many details and frustrations to describe in this little post, but please take our word for it, DO NOT USE Home Depot for your remodeling!
Update, July 26^th:
After many emails and phone calls, our issues were bumped to the regional management level. We gave most of our bathroom remodel business to a different company – Kerrock, in Loomis – whom we highly recommend. They put in our new tub and shower, which look fabulous! Home Depot is scheduled to put in the vanities on Tuesday, but we had to compromise on the size of the master bath vanity. They are covering the cost of the installation. We are crossing our fingers that the installation goes smoothly.
Update, August 28^th:
Overall, the installation went well, but we discovered that the sides of the vanities did not match the fronts. They are made by American Woodmark, and after reading customer reviews (should have done that beforehand) I see that some of the issues we have, many others had as well. We love, love, love our countertops and sinks. We went with LG Hi-​Mac in Venus, installed by Blocktops (HD’s contractor), who did a good job. This material is what we used in our kitchen and were so happy with it, we chose the same material for our bathrooms with a slightly different pattern. BTW, Kerrock made our shower and tub deck from the same material, so the master bathroom matches wonderfully. Another big blunder: we bought a new toilet from Home Depot and were appalled when we unpacked it and it was USED and dirty! (See pictures.)
Once we got HD on our side, I have to say they became very responsive. Unfortunately, that took many, many phone calls and emails and tears! And sadly, issues continued to arise, but finally we had people who could do something about them. In the end, we were given a gift card in the amount of 50% off the cost of the two vanities, and as I mentioned earlier, they covered the cost of installation of the two vanities and three faucets.

I’ve noticed a disturbing and capitally annoying trend developing at this location. On two recent visits, I’ve been solicited by people who are either Home Depot employees, or contractors, trying to trap me into listening to a sales pitch for (insert whatever it is they’re selling… kitchen remodels, new roofs, etc.). These sales people are pushy, too. I say «No thanks» and they keep blabbing. On my last visit, 08 APR 13, some ass named Eric approached me and started running the spiel about how they’re «rewarding» homeowners, blah, blah, blah… I told him «I’m not interested, thanks» and he responded in a loud, snotty tone «Not interested in what???». I shot back «Sitting here and listening to your sales pitch!». Frankly, he’s lucky I didn’t stick my foot in his posterior.
Attention Home Depot management. You need to rein in these wormy little vultures. Their sales pitches are a nuisance, an irritation and an annoyance. I dumped the items I was going to buy on a random shelf and left your store after that jerk mouthed off to me. I went and shopped at Ace Hardware. I’ll continue to do so, until you address these little marauding creeps running loose in your store, bothering your customers.
