Goldsmith Gallery Fine Jewelers came under new ownership in July 2010, following the retirement of previous owners. The new owner, Kaye Irwin, is a graduate gemologist with 35 years experience in the jewelry business with emphasis on jewelry appraisal and custom design. All work including repairs is completed on premises.

Kaye is a graduate gemologist with emphasis on custom design and appraisals. She owned and operated an American Gem Society jewelry store in Turlock, California from 1977 to 1990. Kaye moved to San Diego, California and managed the Collector in La Jolla, California for the next five years. She has lived in the Sacramento area since 1998 continually working as an appraiser and manager. She owned a business that specialized in estate jewelry for six years before purchasing Goldsmith Gallery Fine Jewelers.

Kaye is my personal gemologist! She helped me from start to finish with my recent engagement ring purchase. She took the time to educate me on diamonds and challenged me to try to find a better deal, knowing she was the best. She gave me lots of options and never rushed me. She ended up creating a beautiful custom piece for my bride to be. As I was there one day, I saw her take the same care and approach with someone on a smaller budget than me too. I highly recommend goldsmith gallery.

My husband and I purchase a diamond cross necklace from here several years ago. Recently we went in again and met the owner, Kaye. She did several appraisals for us, including a free one for the necklace we had bought. She also did a verbal appraisal of my husband’s wedding band and suggested the prongs were thin and needed repair. We left it and Owen did a fantastic job. He not only built up the prongs around the three stones, but he polished it. It looks almost new again. I have left several pieces for consignment, which is a nice service Kaye offers as well.

I brought my Mother’s ring to Goldsmith Gallery (she passed away when I was a little girl). It was very old and the diamonds were in danger of falling out. I met with the jeweler and explained the importance of the ring and asked if he could duplicate it. He cast and cut an exact match and it is beautiful. Thank you Goldsmith Gallery for taking good care of me and being so attentive to detail. I am so happy that I can wear my Mother’s ring again for a lifetime.

Goldsmith Gallery is my preferred jeweler, Years ago I purchased a heart necklace that was gold in quartz and I haven’t seen another one like it; unique jewelry and great customer service. Since that day I have shopped here ever since and recommend others to stop in and take a look. This place also has great estate jewelry if you are looking for something different and unique. Kay takes the time to get to know her customers style so she can help show pieces that might appeal to their tastes. I have such confidence in this store that Kay will be looking for a distinct emerald for me and will set it in a band I will choose from her store. She recently made a custom ring for me to give to my husband. The ring is exactly as I described with a closed back to give it some heft — and the price was very reasonable. Thank you Kay! Kay is personable, honest in her evaluations and reasonable with prices. Why shop anywhere else when you can shop locally with a great jeweler? I don’t shop anywhere else!

I’ve had two pieces of my mom’s jewelry remodeled there, both of which I was very happy with. The first one was rather simple to do, but Kaye’s suggestion for how to do it based on what I stated my preference was worked out very well, and the price was very reasonable. The second one was a bit more detailed, and it turned out much better than I expected. Owen had a better idea of what to do with the piece than the original plan, and it turned out great. Again the price was much better than any of the other local places. I also have some pieces that were sold on consignment, and they went for what Kaye priced them at. I have had good luck with the consignment and the jewelry reworking, and am very happy with what I have experienced.

I have been bringing various small pieces of jewelry to Goldsmith Gallery for years and have always been pleased. Recently I brought to Kaye my grandmothers wedding set, which I found in a drawer when cleaning out my grandparents home after they passed. The set was missing the center stone but it had various other diamonds still intact. I really wanted some sort of colored stone, not a diamond, but had no idea what would look good. Kaye spent an amazing amount of time with me and we settled on a Morganite. And then she went to work. After searching for the perfect color — I insisted on a light pink — Kaye found the most beautiful stone at an amazing price! They set the Morganite, resized the ring, fixed the prongs and I could not be happier!!! I even cried in the store when I saw the finished piece. I know my grandmother is smiling down at us. Thank you Kaye!!!

I brought my engagement ring there to be sized. It was a disaster. I only write this so someone else doesnt cry as much as I did. They returned it with a cloudy, yellow looking diamond in it, without even telling me. My ring doesnt even have diamonds in it. Also, that weekend, I lost 2 stones.
After several visits, and threatening a law suit, they admitted to putting in the diamond without telling me, an elderly woman working there lied to the owner in front of me about what she told me while accepting my ring for sizing, and they tried to insult me multiple times because my ring doesn’t have diamonds. However, not all of us want to risk the social ramifications of diamonds. Which they dont seem to understand.
Most of them were smug, and more importantly dishonest. In the end, my ring still loses stones because of their sizing mistake. I have gotten a second opinion.
However, it is how they handled it and their dishonesty that astounds me. I wish I had read the non recommended reviews before I walked in there. Well, lesson learned.

We originally bought my wedding set from an estate sale. It was a gorgeous set! And we received what we thought was a great deal.
Fast forward 4 years. I lost a small diamond on one of my bands. So we stopped in for a quote to replace it. While there, we discovered that multiple diamonds were ready to just fall out. We decided to leave it & were told that we’d get a call with a quote. Two days later, I got the call. Turns out the metal in the band had been manipulated too much, and the prongs for the diamonds were too far damaged. I was told the ring was irreparable. I was heartbroken! I had two choices — a new setting or a complete remake of the ring from scratch. Hubby & I opted for the new setting. Kaye was so kind & helpful! She let us take our time & try on so many rings, and I’m happy I found one I liked! She even made great suggestions about what to do with my original set.
I’m sad my old rings are no more, but excited to wear my beautiful new ring! Highly recommend this jeweler!

My new husband bought my engagement ring from here and it is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen! My husband told me he some additional changes for the ring and they made them in no time. We were also given an appraisal so I could insure the ring. I had to bring it in to be re-​sized and the staff was wonderful. Everyone here is friendly and very knowledgable. I love It here because it has a small town feel where they know you when you walk in to get your ring cleaned and a city size selection that make a great jeweler! Thanks!

I won’t go back in there again, I went in to get a new battery for my watch and after 2 trips 2 different batteries the watch would stop running, so I asked them to find out what is wrong with the watch after almost a month I had to call them, they said it needs a complete overhaul for $ 250.00. They couldn’t tell me what is wrong with it. The owner stated that is typical for a jeweler to charge that much. I would have had them fix it but not for that amount of money. And not having a reason why it’s stops running. Too me that’s like taking your car in and the mechanic says you need a overhaul on your engine without telling what is wrong. And now for some reason the watch has been working fine. Hmmmm,

I wanted to have a wedding ring made, and tried a couple other jewers. They kept pointing me to rings in their displays, which was not what I was picturing. I went to goldsmith gallery, and when I said I wanted a ring made, Kaye had me speak to Owen, one of the goldsmiths there. He was very helpful and was able to put the concept I had in my head into a drawing on paper– not quite what I was imagining, but better. He was able to explain how the design I wanted would effect the available stone size as well as how different cuts and styles would work or not work. I can’t wait to see how it will look when finished!
