Had a fantastic stay at the inn! The property is beautiful with sweeping views from the great room and the room in which we stayed (Bella Vista room). Breakfast was delicious and served in our room. We also enjoyed relaxing by the fire in the back yard after a wonderful dinner in town. Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful time at this place. The hosts are amazing, breakfast felt home cooked and the views are stunning! We will be coming back here. The grounds are perfect for any type of season!

What a wonderful experience we had! The views were stunning, the proprietor was very hospitable and the accommodations were cozy («Cozy in the warm sense of the word, definitely not tiny). The locations was a nice staging ground to explore the surrounding attractions. I could see this place being wonderful for a wedding.

I did not get the greatest service after my stay. I was told I would be receiving a military discount over the phone and she gave them my card info. Unfortunately when I was billed I had not received that discount. When I emailed about this I received a prompt reply but she basically told me it was a miscommunication. I wish I had just been given the total upfront so that I could plan accordingly but I trusted her to uphold what I was told on the phone :/​
Overall: Great stay but I am not sure I will return. I had intended to tell everyone on our military base’s Facebook group about this great B&B who is very supportive of military families. It would be great for a couples getaway that us military families need but I no longer feel comfortable doing that.

Kathleen was friendly and accommodating. The views are spectacular. The beds comfortable. The house and grounds are beautiful and we like the area. River rafting is only a few minutes away, and there is a truly wonderful restaurant that is worth visiting: Café Mahjaic that is also very near to Bella Vista.
We have two young children and they enjoyed the pool and water slide too, all with amazing views over the valley.
Everyone loved the cooked breakfast too.

My wife and I recently spent a weekend at Bella Vista to get away. It was amazing! Quiet, peaceful, the view is incredible! They have an awesome pool with a super fun rock slide and jacuzzi. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. The gourmet breakfast was delicious. Kathleen is an excellent cook and host. We would go back in a heartbeat. If you are thinking of a getaway in Northern Ca, this is the place.

Bella Vista B+B is a slice of heaven. The rooms are fantastic and cozy. Kathleen goes above and beyond to make sure that you’re time there is completely relaxing. The feel of the place is that of a secluded little paradise with the most amazing views of river and exact spot where gold was discovered in 1848. There are numerous wineries within minutes of the place and also some of the best whitewater rafting in CA is only 3 miles away. You won’t know how truly amazing this place is until you go there.

I love coming to the Bella Vista Bed & Breakfast, the rooms are all unique and the place is so warm and comfortable. The pool and lounge area is relaxing and the view is breathtaking. The whole property has a great theme and beautiful environment to be in. The close proximity to wineries, Marshall Gold Discovery Site, and kayaking is another great reason we stay here when we visit the area.

My husband and I had a whirlwind stay in Placerville for a family wedding at an off-​site location. We are so thankful Kathleen and her family were able to accommodate our early check-​in request (call in advance). They under promised (with a 2pm checkin) and over delivered (room was ready when we arrived at 1:30pm despite the fact they hosted a wedding on their premises that same morning!) We made it to our off site wedding (primped, etc etc) on time! The room/​bed/​accommodations were excellent. Kathleen offered to serve breakfast on our private balcony in the morning — a delicious mexican-​style egg quiche with chicken/​apple sausage, fruit and yogurt, and pastries… more than enough to eat! We were stuffed. The grounds were beautiful with an amazing view of the valley floor where gold was first discovered in 1848, followed by the gold «rush» in ’49; minutes from the James Marshall Gold Discovery State Park, as well as some wineries and breweries close by. We hope to stay here again when our itinerary allows more time to truly enjoy the accommodations. We were very pleased with our stay!

AmAziNg AmAziNg AmAzINg! Wish we could give Bella Vista more than 5 stars because they deserve so much more! We were greeted by Owner Kathleen whom was so warm and inviting, as if we were family coming to visit. The attention to detail is spot on, beautifully designed by Kathleen and her wonderful husband Bob. We found this gem for an anniversary get-​a-​way for my 20^th and our best friend’s 7^th! Words can’t describe how perfect our rooms were! We had the pleasure to stay in the Monte Vista, with views that take your breath away. The décor doesn’t stop at the front door, our rooms were PERFECTLY decorated with a Hollywood theme! Loved it! After a wonderful night sleep, our breakfast was a foodies delight! Just thinking about it, makes my mouth water! We will definitely come back again! Thank you Kathleen and Bob for an amazing getaway!

We just had our wedding at Bella Oct. 12 and the venue, event coordinator and owners exceeded our expectations! Everything ran very smooth and our wedding was absolutely beautiful. Bella Vista is breathtaking and a relaxing place to stay. The owners are so sweet and so personable you really feel at home there. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and have our special day. Thank you so much Bella vista!

Where do I even begin… We were just married here last weekend and it was a dream come true. The property is stunning with breathtaking views of the Coloma Valley and Bob and Kathleen are so wonderful and welcoming. The hospitality was beyond words. The first night of our arrival Kathleen beckoned us from our room in a hushed voice to point out 3 baby deer on the front lawn. A magical start to a magical weekend.
We wanted to really enjoy they experience and so arrived several days before our Saturday wedding. (Brides to be– if possible this is definitely the way to do it!) This gave us time to enjoy the pool and hot tub and relax after months of wedding prep. We were greeted each morning with hot coffee and a delicious breakfast cooked by Kathleen– veggie frittata, fresh fruit, country french toast with blueberry syrup– oh my!!!
Bob worked tirelessly to make sure the property was absolutely perfect for our Saturday wedding and I can tell you it was BEAUTIFUL!!!
If you hold your wedding here, the package includes an event coordinator, Jordan. Where do I even begin… Jordan is amazing!!! From the moment we viewed the property 8 months before she worked with us to ensure we were able to have the wedding of our dreams. She recommended vendors that she trusted, answered my many many emails promptly, checked in on details that an overwhelmed bride may forget, and truly took all the stress and worry out of our wedding day. She was beyond wonderful and we couldn’t have done it without her.
We already have plans to return down the line for an anniversary getaway! Bella Vista Bed and Breakfast will always hold a special place in our heart!

BEAUTIFUL! The view is 2^nd to none! The pool is super fantastic. The InnKeepers are so nice and warm and accomodating. The breakfasts are outstanding! The rooms are lovely. We were only planning to stay 2 nights and extended to 3 nights. We then headed to Tahoe and had wished that we had stayed longer at Bella Vista after reaching Tahoe. We will definitely be back! :-)

Wow. There are some places you keep in your mind after you visit, just thinking «We need to go back there sometime!» — This is one of them. We went with two other couples and the experience was amazing. We loved the rooms, we loved the views, we loved the Innkeepers, the food was great, the recommendations were outstanding. we will be back!

The Bella Vista Bed and Breakfast truly lives up to it’s name. The views are amazing! Our room waste tastefully furnished, the bed was very comfortable, and our hosts Kathleen and Bob could not have been more gracious.
The signature breakfasts here is a frittata — it’s delicious and very rich ‚(recipe on their website) or if you prefer they offer fruits, cereal and pastries.
Our only complaint was that we only stayed here 2 nights! We will return!
Room Tip: The Bella Vista Suite!

We found this place in March and we went back in August for our wedding weekend. Kathleen and Bob were welcoming, warm, and quick to arrange the place for the various events over the two days. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL and the rooms were pristine. We even took a dip in the gorgeous pool (with a seated bar in the pool! and a view over the valley) and enjoyed the waterfall. The breakfasts were delicious and even accommodating to our early the next morning departure (which was on a 15 minute short notice). LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Would highly recommend it to those seeking: quiet, relaxation, great food, beautiful pool, balcony seating area, in-​room fire places, movies and books for available for entertainment, and a close to Sacramento get-​away. And our pictures from the wedding day are gorgeous. We are very pleased.

First bed & breakfast we’ve ever been to and I don’t know if any other B&B will ever match up to this one. The breakfast was awesome Kathlyn the owner was the nicest person I’ve ever met. I would 100% stay here again and recommend this B&B to anyone.

My husband and I were in the area for a friend’s wedding and, as it was our first trip away from our 22-​month-​old, we decided to splurge on a fantastic place to stay. Bella Vista is just that – fantastic. Absolutely gorgeous views, lovely rooms with comfy beds, delicious breakfasts and a super fun pool overlooking the nearby valley and hills.
I really should elaborate. When I say «super fun,» I mean I felt like I was 9 years old again, running up to the rock slide over and over and over and over (etc. ad nauseum) to splash into the refreshing water. It was hilarious and just such a good time! And the hot tub is the perfect place to end the day with a glass of wine, watching the sun set behind the hills. The setting just cannot be beat.
The proprietors were very friendly and accommodating, happy to recommend restaurants and activities in the area and did a spectacular job with the breakfasts (I ate every single bite on my plate, everything was so delicious!).
I don’t know when we’d ever be in the area again, but if we find ourselves nearby, I would jump at the chance to stay at Bella Vista again.

Got a special occasion or a need to be pampered? This is the place. I wasn’t interested in wasting two days traveling to Hawaii, Aruba or Mexico. I was looking for a lovely vacation spot close to home.
When I saw their website, I wasn’t trusting just how beautiful it appeared online, but it really is that beautiful. You can see the river from the shower, the (jaccuzi) tub, the pool, the common living room/​dining room. All over their garden they have little areas for sitting and enjoying water fountains or views. The pool is small, but the view is magnificent. I really appreciated the beautiful décor carried throughout the house– no cute doilies or quilts. The hosts are very warm and attentive. I liked that I was only 2.5 hours away from home and it was a different world.

I’ve been to TONS of B&B’s all over this country… and it’s funny that my favorite one is the one so close to my house!
Granted, where I live is pretty amazing, with the River in my backyard and overlooking the River Valley as well. But, these guys actually have a view that makes me jealous!
The house is just SOOO cool and the rooms so big and comfortable… but the highlights???
The Pool is AWESOME! Love the design and SUCH a great place to hang out and check out the views.
What’s even better??? The Hosts!!! They are so wonderful and helpful and VERY friendly.
Only problem… they book out quickly, so you need to reserve WAAYYYYY in advance!!!
