We just had our 20 year high school reunion at Rem’s on Saturday night. I grew up in Placentia and live in LA now but really wanted to support a local spot. I was responsible for planning the big event, and rather than have it at a stale hotel ball room with mediocre food and pay an inflated price, I decided to hold the event at Rem’s. I am so glad I did. Johnny, the owner, was so easy to work with and very flexible. Nicole, one of the bartenders was so attentive to the 100 or so guests that attended. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. By the way, this is my very first Unilocal review(so this is big!). I am very fond of Placentia and wish all the best for Rem’s and all the cool local spots. I would definitely recommend Rem’s to anyone looking for an easy and affordable venue to hold a special event or just go an hang out for the night.

We had a pretty good time here Saturday night. The bartender was nice and quick and remembered all 5 drinks with out hesitation. The band playing was pretty good, it had people up dancing everywhere. You can tell that it’s full of foxfire patrons that migrated after it closed down. Lots of Cougars and young guys on the prowl. Security was pretty much pointless no one ID’d and I normally get ID’d more than once everywhere I go.

Usually like to go here since its down the street from my house but I don’t think I’ll be going anymore because of a blonde waitress that was super judgmental and rude. I saw her spot me as soon as I walked in and she made sure the bartender carded me even though we get carded at the door. Sorry I don’t look old enough to you, but I am 23 and last time I checked, that’s of legal age to drink. Someone sitting next to me actually apologized and bought my boyfriend and I a drink. So that was nice and so was the bartender. Just not her. Just to clarify, there’s one blonde with short hair that’s actually behind the bar and she’s super sweet. But girl with long hair not so much.

Please let me give zero stars!!! Negative stars maybe? This place is so disgusting it’s almost comical. Where to start? The upgrades. you can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig. The crowd, honestly I don’t know if it was just the band or what but that crowd has gotten rough. No more Eldorado kids, unless Eldorado kids grow up into methed out hicks. Got an 805, they obviously don’t clean their lines. I know what 805 tastes like and it is not a sour beer. Someone at the bar ordered food and I kid you not everytime I caught a wiff I thought my boyfriend burped in my face. You couldn’t pay me to go back!

Great time here. Watched«Flashpants» 80’s cover band play and everyone in our group had a blast. Probably the most packed I’ve seen it there. If you didn’t reserve a table, you were fighting the crowd to get a spot. Low key, no drama. Bar wait for drinks were on par for the amount of people there. Didn’t order food because of the crowd, but in the past it was pretty good. Crowd was definitely an older crowd… some really old. I’m in it for the people watching so it made it more fun.

This place is fun for a night out with coworkers– It is not your typical bar turned club type of bar but a really nice place to relax, play pool, shoot darts or just have a drink or two. Lots of seating and very open.

Ugh… I’ve been coming to Rem’s/Royal/Rembrandt’s for years… while the physical appearance has gotten better, the food is just so awful. :( I visited my local bar/restaurant Saturday night and again tonight, for Taco Tuesday. The musical acts are nice to watch here, there’s good seating areas, and a separate space for electronic dart boards and pool tables. The staff know me by name and I enjoy running into people I know, every time I hang here. Anyways, Saturday I was starving. I ordered the fried mozzarella and chicken fingers. Gross. I’m sorry to sound rude but the fried mozzarella was overcooke and made me wish I hadn’t even eaten them. The chicken tenders were just all wrong, breading and all. The fries that accompanied them, were good. I get how«bar food» isn’t supposed to be all that great, but Rembrandt’s had amazing food! Their original mozzarella was delicious! I’m not one to complain, but I will say that several of us locals have said we need to stop coming here for food. I know it’s not Mexican, but even the tacos are worse than El Torito and Kelly’s next door. It’s unfortunate, and I think this will have to remain my go-to place for music and alcohol only.

The wife in this new ownership loves her new power to make paying people feel stupid about placing their empty beer bottles in the right spot for refills. Don’t stand up for yourself because she gets to tell you you’re out of line. She gets to tell you you’re drunk even though you’re just standing up for yourself and don’t like to be put down. A wave for a beer should be just as good for a paying patron then a placement of a bottle. Needless to say my bottle was in that spot but was cleared by someone else. My comments were to my boyfriend but her ears made it that I was rude to her. Really? I just wanted a beer. Who cares where I place my bottle. At the end of the night WEPAYYOURBILLS.

Close to the house. Looking at this from a entertainment business eye I watched the following: This used to be what I thought was an upscale Chop House but has changed to a Vegas Style Bar as they say. Bouncers outside Jean short and t-shirts looking like I’m going into and biker /college bar. The Interior was to be desired and very confusing. The servers were good but dressed casual and we’re eating behind the bar while poring drinks. Closet behind bar exposed, chairs stacked in corner by stage, very dark and dirty. Menus were copies wrinkled and food stained. Food was good but lacked presentation Drinks were stiff no complaint there. Band was all over the board and low budget but good for the area. Funny thing is the median income in this area is 100,000K plus and this place is trying to match the beer and wine sports bar next door and it should be a different crowd. Parking is a nightmare because two bars in a small parking lot. Should target a higher income level client or go after the college crowd. Food menu should be narrowed and be served as crowd plates for sharing. There are few full bar options for non college crowds in Placentia and this could serve that need.

I don’t know which bartender worked the early morning hours of 10÷20÷15, but he was extremely irresponsible, reckless and obviously, a person who just doesn’t give a sh! t about his customers. The bartender continued to serve 5 patrons liquor after the bar closed until around 2:45am, and he continued to serve people who were very visibly drunk. As a person with no conscience, he never called nor offered to call a cab/über for anyone. I had no clue where my roommate was until he texted me at 2:50am stating he was on his way home. I texted him back to find out where he was but he didn’t respond. He stupidly drove home drunk and soon passed out. Later that day he told me where he was and the events of that morning. Does my roommate and his buddies(who all drove home drunk) share responsibility for driving drunk and being completely stupid a-holes? Absofrickinlutely! They should be held accountable for their actions. However, as an owner/bartender you have a responsibility to have a set procedure of service behind the bar to reduce potentially dangerous situations from occurring. You have an obligation to not over pour, to cut people off when they’re visibly drunk and to not let people who are completely sh! t faced & annihilated leave your establishment without trying to help them get a ride home. You should never be afraid(or selfish due to a decrease in sales and tips) to refuse service to someone. And mr. bartender, you should know that serving an intoxicated individual is a misdemeanor. Not to mention that serving alcohol after hours is illegal! This is certainly not the 1st time I have seen friends and acquaintances show up at my house falling down drunk, stating they had just come from The Royal. Do you not feel a sense of loyalty to your customers to take reasonable, preventative steps to help reduce accidents and fatalities.

The place is nice and better kept than Kelly’s next door, but walking in we seated ourselves and waiting for the food– forget it. Pretzels taking 20min is too long. The first thing anyone asked was are you ready to order… We never got a menu. Band is not good-expected somewhat decent. Employers seem to busy chatting or consuming there time with regulars than the new customers like me.

Food is good beer is cold and the angel game was on the band that was playing was pretty good. Service was absolute shit we looked over the menu for some time and then once we ordered we ordered appetizers and two beers. It took what felt like half an hour to get these wings and pretzels. And then our waitress is just standing around not doing anything at all Jesus Christ check in with your customers! 3 stars for food beer and band.

I go here every Wednesday after Kelly’s closes. I love the fact that the bar has karaōke however, the man controlling the Karaōke wont let you participate unless you give him a «tip». The Bar is spacious but it definitely needs to be renovated. The 1960’s Vegas theme makes the bar seem dated. The bar also needs to have better deals on Wednesday. They’ll do dollar beers up until midnight, then they start to charge double per beer because technically it’s Thursday, What gives? Overall, it’s definitely a good time and worth to check out on a Wednesday.

My husband and I came here after seeing the owner on Bar Rescue and promising ourselves to get to know this local bar, owned by good people. We sat at the bar and Nissa took excellent care of us. Her drinks were very well done and food recommendations were spot on. Sitting there you could see how much they appreciate the regulars as well as us new folk. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. I would recommend to anyone and if you are lucky enough to get Nissa, you are in for a very good night. Cheers.

The entertainment here is great. The food and service is really terrible. Takes forever to get a drink. They act like you’re a very big inconvenience. The food is freezer and microwave quality. I don’t recommend this place unless you really love the band performing.

This place sucks. Tried it a few times just to make sure. The owner is a rude egotistical bitch. Each time I’ve went he has been serving on the side I’m at and I end up waiting forever to get a drink(even on a slow night). Nearly impossible to get his attention if you’re a guy. If you don’t have big boobs or a vagina you’re gonna wait forever. I called him out the other night and told him he needs to pay attention and he got rude and expected me to say sorry and change my attitude after waiting 20 min for a beer!!! Told him to close my tab and he literally threw my change across the counter. Will not be going there again!!!

This is an interesting place it feels like it should be a poker hall with the way all the tables are and Vegas pictures on the walls. They have quite a big space that’s mostly a lounge area with many chairs and tables. The bar staff was nice and relatively quick to get us drinks at the bar or our table. They have a stage in the corner which provided the entertainment for the the night with the few bands that were playing they were quite enjoyable. Who knows I might come back here at some point because overall it was a fun mellow time!

Let’s turn back the clock to a vintage lizard lounge of the 1960’s. Atleast that what my first impression but without the polyester clothing, exposed hairy chests, bad comb overs and cigarette smoke. I like this. Also reasonable priced beer, great live bands and the pretzel cheese bites(OMG). Come on in and see how grandpa used to roll back in the day.
