Phan Optometry

I discovered Dr. Phan through a Groupon search I did a few days ago. Initially and understandably skeptical because it was SO cheap to get an exam and contact fitting. It was advertised as $ 39 for the whole deal. I had my girlfriend call in to get the details because I’ve never had contacts so she knew what questions to ask.
The person who answered the phone was knowledgeable and nice despite our myriad of questions. Everything sounded great so I was able to schedule an appointment within the hour.
As soon as I finished my paperwork, I was already going through their exams. Dr. Phan was nice, reassuring, and comfortable to be around and explained why we were doing certain exams and what they were accomplishing.
I was pretty nervous about putting in contacts at first, especially because he was helping me put them in. I didn’t want to frustrate him, but they actually went in pretty easily and they taught me how to take them out also. I can’t believe I got contacts the same day!
My entire time there was 40 minutes, but definitely not an hour. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I was very skeptical of the reviews at first because they were all great, but the reviews really do live up to their expectations. Dr. Phan is seriously amazing! Super welcoming and caring of his clients. I got the deal from groupon and it was well worth it. I got my eyes checked and got trial contacts right after I was done. The process was quick and easy and Dr. Phan makes you feel so comfortable. He definitely knows what he’s doing. I ordered a three months supply of green colored contacts the week after. I would recommend him to anyone. :) ps his staff and secretaries are pretty cool too. Hehe

An eye exam– the one exam that I always seem to fail :(
Dr. Phan is genuinely passionate about what he does and who he treats; you can see it is practically a hobby to him! He is the one doctor of many doctors that I visited in the past that I would ACTUALLY RECOMMEND to all my friends and family to see. I’m not going to be redundant and say that Dr. Phan and company is friendly and caring, but he is indeed patient, knowledgeable and dedicated.
I’m very fortunate to have found him from a long list of providers. He even specializes in RGP/​hard contact lens fittings. Plus, he’s conveniently located right off the freeway!

Like most, I’m not the biggest fan of going to the optometrist. I have pretty terrible vision and it’s always overwhelming to hear how bad my eyes are. :(
Dr. Phan was the complete opposite of anything I have ever experienced! He helped answer all my questions and was very patient with me. He’s super sweet and has a great personality that will make you feel very comfortable.
Upon arriving, I was warmly greeted by the young lady in the front, Karla. She was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the frames and styles.
To top it off, my new glasses will be ready in less than a week! Can not get any better than this! Don’t miss out and definitely stop by!!! You wont regret it, PROMISE!

I hate going to the optometrist. I’m literally blind and it’s so frustrating when your optometrist pushes you to see things that you can not. This was not the case at all at Dr. Phan’s he was an extremely welcoming and wonderful optometrist. I actually bought a groupon and called within the hour I bought it and was told I can come on in, I was helped promptly. I was given the normal text in the beginning, the puff of air and the blurry imagine that goes clear. Once those were done I was sat into the chair and Dr. Phan said take a «deep breath and relax, this is a game and you’re here to have fun» I chucked to my self as I’m not a 5 year old but still it was an endearing jester. About 5 minutes go by and he brought some trails for me to try on and I popped them right in and was asked to look at the board again. It was great he gave me multiple options of contacts and made sure I was comfortable with the pair he gave me. I especially enjoyed the fact that he was not pushy towards buying other things at his office. I actually did see a pair of glasses that I liked and he still didn’t push me and actually asked me what I was looking for. I told him and he said he could order them and I can check them out before buying, but I fell in love with the first pair. I ended up buying them and a even better perk of finding a great pair of glasses the frames were ½ off and would be delivered in less than a week! Over all a great experience!

My husband needed to get his eye exam and Costco was booked up for a few days. I remembered seeing Placentia Family Optometry during my walks with my dogs. At the time, they had advertised the price for exams and it was actually lower than Costco. I decided to give them a call and they took Justin in that evening. Super friendly service and caring. I definitely recommend them over LensCrafter and Costco– both which seem like a «factory» and the optometrists are impersonal/​rushed.

The best Optometrist office I have ever visited. The staff was friendly and the sign in process was a breeze. I was seen right away and Dr. Van Phan took his time to examine my eyes and explain his findings. I left my Doctors appointment knowing so much about my eyes.

Went to this office for the 1^st time yesterday. It had been a very long time since I had my eyes checked but I was happy to hear I still had fantastic vision. Dr. Phan and Kim in the front were super welcoming, friendly and helpful with my appointment. I chose to pick out some glasses for my extended computer work and am excited to use them. They even helped me choose the frames, which I thought was above and beyond. Fantastic choice for anyone looking, I highly recommend them!

My boyfriend recommend me to Dr. Phan. I must say Dr. Phan really cares for the needs of his patients. His very knowledgeable and helpful. He takes his time and get to know his patient. This optometry is the best hidden gem location you will ever find. I found this place from a groupon/​livingsocial deal, which is a very good deal plus and extra 35 for my heavy astigmatism prescription. The staff here are very nice and friendly, they was able to squeeze me in for an appointment before closing. The opto doctor, Dr. Phan, is the most knowledgeable and caring eye doctor i ever had from all the eye doctors i had in the past. Dr. Phan really takes his time to make sure you are getting the right prescription for your eyes and he will give you the option of picking what kind of contacts or prescription he thinks is best suited for you. In terms of eye exam pricing, you are really getting an affordable and competitive price compared to costco, which i went to before, and walmart. In addition, after an examination you will also get discounts off of contacts or glasses purchases at this location. I just took my exam today and will definitely be back for my contacts order and future exams. As a college student who is on a budget, you are really getting your moneys worth for the professional service that Dr. Phan provides. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I am so pleased to review this establishment and Dr. Phan. Dr. Phan is so helpful and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions– and boy, did I have questions! He also took his time with me to make sure my prescription for contacts was perfect. The staff was also very friendly and patient with me while I tried on dozens of frames. I would recommend Placentia Family Optometry to friends and family. The prices are fair as well. I certainly feel like the quality of care is much better here than it is in the big chain vision centers. I’ll be returning for all my vision care in the future.

After just leaving the Brea Walmart optometrists office frustrated and discouraged, I googled optometrists in my area and found Dr Phan’s office. Oh my goodness they were so welcoming and friendly! Dr Phan fitted me with mono contacts after being told I wasn’t a good candidate! He is hands down one of the NICEST MOST PATIENT CARING DOCTOR THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! He genuinely cares about his patients and that’s hard to find these days!
I highly recommend Dr Phan! You will NOT be disappointed in his expertise and or prices!

Dr. Phan is the best optometrist I have been too… by far. He really cares about helping his patients and makes sure he is giving the best care. He is the first doctor that I don’t feel rushed, he takes his time and gives a personal attention to each patient. He is very thorough and answers any questions and doubts. He explains everything so good. His office is nice and clean and makes you feel welcomed. He is very skilled and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend him to everyone, you won’t regret it. I purchased a Social Living voucher for a contact lens exam with Dr. Tran on a Friday. My appointment was at 3:00 p.m. I arrived early and filled out the one page questionnaire. I was seen immediately by Dr. Tran.
Dr. Tran and his staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. Scheduling the appointment was easy, I didn’t have to wait at all to be seen and my entire experience was pleasant.
Dr. Tran has all the state of the art equipment and his specialty is fitting his patients with the right, comfortable contact lenses. I went through a series of tests and was provided an updated prescription. He didn’t pressure sell me into more procedures or to purchase contact lens.
The fee to get a eye glass or contact lens exam is very competitive — actually lower than Costco and Walmart! I would definitely recommend Dr. Tran, his office and will return next year for my contact lens exam.

Dr. Phan is so nice! I highly recommend him to everyone! :) very easy going, extremely helpful. truly enjoyed my eye visit. He took his time to answer all my questions. He is so welcoming! made me feel comfortable. :)

Absolutely the best optometrist. I’ve been trying several eye doctors and finally found Dr. Phan for my son. He took his time explaining options to stop the vision from getting worst. Dr. Phan is great with kids and very patience I can’t believe it took me so long to finally found an honest doctor that won’t recommend something that you don’t need. There’s a local eye doctor just a block from my house and I won’t go there. I would drive to see Dr. Phan. I trust his opinion and honesty.

Thank you Dr Phan for examing me when I got a black eye. He has that trustworthy vibe about him and he takes his time, answers all your questions, and doesn’t rush you out the door. I would wholeheartedly recommend him for any vision needs.

Very impressed with Dr. Tran and her staff. Today was my first visit, and I just feel confident and good about both the urgency and thoroughness of the process from beginning to end.
I didn’t get any upsell, but even if I did, hey it’s a business. I will send my Signora and see what she thinks.
