Powers Farm Market

We’ve been going to Powers Farm Market for a few years now. My children enjoy feeding the animals. The farm is free and close to the city making it ideal for a quick Sunday afternoon stop. It is very small though, so only an hour will do. There are very limited activities while other farms in the area have much more. For this last visit the farm was packed like never before (for us). Parking was okay – very full, but people were moving in and out quickly so we were able to get good parking spots. But the crowds of people made it difficult to enjoy the activities. No fault of the farm – it was just a really lovely day. Advice: plan on a short visit, don’t bring a stroller, be patient with parking – someone will be leaving soon, and most of all don’t make this your only fall farm stop – there are lots of others in the area a short drive away.

My boyfriend and I came here yesterday and it was just the perfect way to spend a few hours on a nice fall afternoon. :)
I’m always a little worried that these places will be heavy on the child entertainment and not so appealing to adults but I found it was a nice mix of the two. The petting zoo is awesome, their animals are super nice and look like they are taken care of very well. :) Lots of variety! (Goats, peacocks, deer, bunnies, chickens, llamas, and a donkey!)
The teepee was a nice little treat. A short little walkthrough but I loved it. One is filled with tons of lit up jackolanterns and another with cool blacklight skeleton decorations. It looked great! They also offer a daytime and nighttime hayride!
Lots of awesome pies and pastries and a huge pumpkin selection. We had an awesome time and I’m definitely coming here every year from now on! :)

All right all right all right. The typical weekend trip destination when the weather turns! Powers is the greatest. Not only for their bustling atmosphere but they have lots of goodies too (pies, doughnuts, apple cider, etc.)
The tee pees are a classic (built in 1974 I believe) so you can imagine how long they have been a staple in the community come Fall season. Plenty of pumpkins to pick from and a small petting «zoo» of farm animals to pet and feed. Llamas, sheep and mini horses. Can’t help but laugh at the tiny kids feeding a llama for the very first time.
Exceptionally friendly staff and it reminds us that even though winter is right around the corner it doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy Fall while its here! Highly recommended for a family outing or even just a trip with some friends for a doughnut (or 2!) — and those are pretty damn good.

Powers is a local gem that’s a great mini-​trip for kids, or a place to swing by and get some snacks if you’re in the mood to mosey around. They have fresh veggies in the summer months (not sure about the winter!) and pumpkins in the fall. They also have an okay selection of flowers, herbs, and some hanging planters.
A small selection of maple syrups, baked goods, and pre-​packaged foods and candies can be found inside. They have THE BEST chocolate chip cookie ever. It’s my personal belief that hard/​crunchy cookies are something devised by satan purely to disappoint people. NOT THE CASE HERE. The cookies here are so soft and so, so good. They’re $ 1.65 each. It’s hard for me to not buy 12 every time I come.
There’s a petting zoo type area around back that’s great for little kids. In the fall when the pumpkins are around they have giant corn-​stalk teepees with carves pumpkins inside — another cute thing for the kids.

It’s getting to be that time of year again! Family fun, and spooky events for all ages are available at Powers Farm Market. They have a great «scary» wagon ride during the day for youngsters, and a dusk ride for kids that are a little older. We have been going there for our pumpkins for the past 8 years and have not been disappointed by the events. The Pumpkins are the best of the crop, and the petting zoo is always a treat.
Over all this is a low cost event for families of all sizes!

$ 17.41 for almost 10 (ten) pounds (#‘s) of fresh, locally grown and hand picked fruits and vegetables. I agree with the news papers that Wegmans is truly the best grocery store in the universe… HOWEVER, if you can make the drive to Power’s, you can give the big brown box a run for it’s money. This family and it’s employee’s know what they’re doing.
From the atmosphere to the attentive and friendly staff, Power’s is honestly what going to the Market is supposed to be like.

I have been going here since I was a kid! Halloween is great, that’s what they are known for. But don’t forget Christmas! It’s so festive and Christmassy. I love to take my kids anytime of the year to show them the importance of supporting small business.

Every year, my fiancée and her mom brings me here before Halloween. It’s very crowded and parking sucks, but it’s a fun time for sure.

Honestly, this place is a lot of fun and I will overlook the parking because it’s not really an issue for me. Big fan of this, probably second to Green Acres in my opinion. Solid 4 stars.

I go here every fall for pumpkins and to check out the jack-​o-​lanterns in the tee pees. They do new designs every year and many are quite cool. I usually go with nieces and nephews and they have a great time taking the haunted hay ride. They have good donuts and a nice selection of apples (including candied).

Been going here since I was a young girl and I have never stopped enjoying it! I go at least once a year for some fall time fun!
They have plenty of pumpkins at pretty decent prices. I got a rather large one for 6.00 dollars this time. They have all shapes, sizes, and colors available.
The inside market is full of freshly baked goodies. I love their breads! Every time I go I have to get a cider slushee, and a heath bar cookie.
Then there is all the fun activities you can do outside. There are the animals to pet and feed. The giant teepees are really interesting as well. They are filled with carved pumpkins that are lit up and quite the sight. Then there is a haunted hayride for the kids.
This place has something for the whole family. Even as an adult I still have a good time here. Though that might just be because I am still just a big child.

We live right up the road so we get our Christmas tree here. Huge cozy fireplace, hot beverages & snacks always available.
Fall is crazy busy on the weekend. They are open pretty late and a lot of fun after dark so I’d really recommend M-​F just as the sun is setting for older kids and weekday late morning for the littles.
You can:
–Buy animal feed for $.25 and feed the lamas, deer, birds, bunnies, goats & more.
–Take a family hayride. Certain days/​times for non-​scary rides so check first!
–Enjoy a hot cocoa/​coffee/​cider and select a sweet treat inside (candy apples, fresh fry cakes, baked goods).
–Tour the teepees to see dozens of carved pumpkins. A little scary for younger kids (not sure what to expect, dark, last room has fake ghosts, skeletons & creepy music).
Grab a few pumpkins! The layout and lighting is PERFECT to get a great photo with the kids (the hour before sunset has the most incredible light!)

Growing up in the area, before every Halloween my family would spend an afternoon at Powers Farm Market. I cannot recall anything that gave me as much delight, as a child, from visiting Powers Farm Market. Those of you who grew up going know exactly what I’m talking about.
I revisted the market this past weekend, and not much had changed, except everything was a bit smaller (and I am a bit bigger) and a part of me was still hoping for that magical feeling I remember.
What you’ll find there is lots of pumpkins, a haunted hay-​ride, a small zoo with llamas, sheep, and donkeys which you can feed with your hand (for $ 0.25). There are local foods inside the building, including breads, donuts, cheeses, and apples (among others). I strongly recommend trying the hot apple cider, buy yourself a cup for $ 1.50 and walk around to explore the grounds.
Unfortunately, there is no maize/​maze. However, and this is the coolest part, there are a couple of large connected tee-​pees built with dried corn stalks. Inside the tee-​pees you’ll find a large collection of carved pumpkins followed by a black-​light «room». People linger, with good reason, in the room with the carved pumpkins. They’ve «enhanced» the black-​light room from years past, but I’m not a fan of the improvements as it is mostly chintzy decorations (it used to be just illuminated by black-​light, allowing your/&my imaginations to run free). Maybe this is my adult-​cynicism coming through (sorry).
Regardless, I love Powers Farm Market. It is by which I compare all others and I cannot wait to re-​experience that initial delight through a child’s eyes.
