The stylists are the best and the atmosphere wonderful. After following my stylist through 3 salons however, I will be parting ways as the staff has on multiple occasions «lost» my appointment. This was the last. These always seem to occur after my appointments have been moved to accomodate staff vacations. Truly sorry to be leaving my stylist but leaving me high and dry before my daughters wedding was the final straw.

Deanna was great in creating the perfect updo for my long hair. She is attentive, creative, and smart. Most importantly, she listens carefully and does what you want her to do. The day was humid and hot and the up-​do stayed in its place despite long hours of dancing.

I love it here. I’ve been going to Izear for several years, and my hair has never been better. He knows exactly how to cut it and what products I should use. I’ve started taking my 4-​year-​old daughter to him, and she looks forward to it every time. The staff is always professional and nice and every experience I’ve had there has been great.

After aggressively bidding on it, I won the Studio Booth basket at a charity event. That was in August of 2014. I’m actually a stylist at another great salon in the area and I had heard awesome things about Studio Booth– specifically about Gary and his amazing shampoos. So, I was super excited to check it out… Partly for market research, and partly for the pampering you don’t get when working in a high volume atmosphere. The basket was a dream, filled with many (mostly full size!) Sebastian hair products, and a few samples of the Babor skincare system. I love trying new products, and it was awesome. However the GC for the hair services was not actually in the basket. Not sure why, but whatever, so I called the salon to inquire about what the GC actually included. Long story short, after leaving 2 messages, getting no response, following up and subsequently speaking with 4 different people over a week, I was finally was able to talk to a manager… And she was so rude; abrasive and impatient. I just wanted to know what the details were, and planned on using the gift certificate at a later date. I was told the info was on file (since there was not a tangible GC in the basket) and it would be noted. So, when I called a few weeks later to make the appointment there was no record of anything. The receptionist was really helpful, I think her name was Summer?, and she took my info so the manager could call me back… This happened twice. I’m not quite sure why that was even necessary, but I do know that no one ever called me back. After that I guess I didn’t care enough to pursue it; if that’s the atmosphere, no thanks.

I want to thank Izear for all he has done for my hair. He has treated my hair with care and the service is wonderful.

My girlfriend and I had pedis with Tom and Paula — AMAZING!!! Paula is like a long-​lost girlfriend. We are going back tomorrow for facials with Paula. What a pleasant treat to have Studio Booth so close as I live in Monroeville. Love, Love, Love.
Planning a «Spa Day» with my daughter when she is home over Christmas!!!

This is a 4 star review bc both the front desk attendant and the shampoo girl had cold, bitchy personalities. I actually kind of liked that about the front desk girl, it made me feel like i was in a very swanky salon for some reason.
The shampoo girl had the personality of cardboard and was really unfriendly, I could NOT wait to get the hell out of her chair. When she was done she said, «Go over to Tina’s station,» and kind of waved her hand, but when I told her it was my first visit and I didn’t know where Tina’s station was, she walked me over. And looked annoyed.
So, I wasn’t sure what to expect.
My previous salon was Salon Christine, but I just got tired of the regular unfriendliness from her. They do GREAT work there, but when I called to schedule a cut and color weeks in advance they were extremely annoyed with me on the phone and Christine told me I had to choose what was more important: «the cut or the color,» bc she was busy. I chose to find a new salon.
My friend recommended Studio Booth and I’m so glad she did!
I was able to get an appointment right away, and the salon itself was beautiful inside.
After a chilly greeting and an unfriendly shampooing, I had started to regret my decision but then I met my stylist, Tina. She was really nice.
I had been instagramming pictures of haircuts I like, and she was really candid with me, there was one cut I showed her and she said, «with your fine hair, this is not a realistic cut for you.» I REALLY appreciated it. We settled on a layered both with long bangs and I kid you not, it is the best haircut of my life.
My hair looks cute when I wake up! For some reason, my hair falls like I dont have hair that sucks wide open ass now!
I’ve never left a salon completely happy before, but I was happy when I left. I thought the price of the cut was reasonable and I will absolutely be back. If you’re looking for a new hair stylist, I recommend this place!

Andrew Bender has done my hair for 8 years now; the last 4 at Studio-​Booth. I have to say the two are a «match made in heaven!» He is such a talented stylist with a great eye for color and always represents a fashion forward look when styling me. With Andrew, I simply sit in the chair and «trust in him» to do what’s right for me. I am always blissfully delighted! The salon is top notch professional, elegant and edgy. The service is impeccable from the moment you walk in; to them surprisingly offering to run next door to grab a meal for you because you mentioned you were hungry. A+ in customer service for 4 years now. I’ve tried all of the services too! It expensive, but as the commercial said so well so many years ago… I’m worth it! Dawn T

I have only been here one time to get a gel mani (so far!), but I love it and will surely be back.
From the moment you walk in you feel completely welcome. The girls at the front desk are so welcoming. I was greeted immediately and told to have a seat. It was only a few short minutes until Andrea came to greet me.
She is great! She knows what she is doing and seems to really enjoy what she does, which is great. She was extremely friendly and explained the salon to me since it was my first time there. I am glad she did because I did not realize just how much they do there! The whole salon was very clean and organized. I loved it.
I just absolutely loved my gel mani and can’t wait to go back to see Andrea for another!

This was hands down my worst experience at a salon.
I got my hair colored while traveling, and it faded extremely quickly. I got recommendations for a Pittsburgh based salon, and found studio booth. They got me in quickly, were extremely nice, the experience was pleasant, but the results were terrible. The problem is that they didn’t listen to me. I told them how my hair faded, they told me why they thought it faded, and said it would be a color correction to fix my fade. I agreed to what they said, and they started dying my hair. As they processed my hair, I told them that what they were doing was the exact same thing the previous stylist had done. I even knew that it was a two-​in-​one step process because the previous stylist had explained it to me. I expressed I was extremely worried they were just repeating something that didn’t work once, and it wouldn’t work again. They assured me they were experts (the quoted price made me believe that!) and that the hair wouldn’t fade as quickly. My hair was stunning when I walked out the door.
The stylist was skilled, the whole staff was very nice, but they discarded that I knew what I was talking about, and simply repeated a previous mistake. For whatever reason, my hair doesn’t take that coloring system. I’m okay paying to learn that once (my hair being weird isn’t a stylists fault!) but when the second place ignores when you tell them that it isn’t going to work, that this just happened, and you are in the color correction chair because of this problem, the stylist should listen.
In short, I spent $ 300 to have a color correction that was the exact same thing a previous stylist did; the same thing that sent me in for the color correction in the first place! (Well, to be fair, it was $ 250 plus $ 50 of product they claimed would keep the red from fading. My hair faded from dark red to ugly splotchy pink in three shampoos — a shorter amount of time than the first stylist’s red took to fade.)
Learn from my mistakes (and wasted $ 300). Don’t go here for extreme color, don’t go here if you have anything other than easy to color hair, and most certainly do not go here if you need a color correction.

I have only done manis and pedis here, always with Tom and he is amazing. They are a bit pricey for my tastes but he is definitely worth a splurge before vacation (I also went before my wedding). Though I haven’t personally gotten my hair done there, many of my friends have and they always look gorgeous!

If you want to have a great experience and come out of the salon feeling like a million dollars visit Lindsay, she is AMAZING!!! I went from a red head to a blonde and Lindsay eased me into blonde and each step my hair looked so beautiful. I don’t have the best hair and she really makes me feel great everytime.
Top notch salon and wonderful service. I only go to Lindsay but everyone else in the salon is very nice and really makes this the BEST PLACE in Pittsburgh for me.

Matthew has become one of my favorite people ever! He has saved my wild curly hair. I use to color color color it and he eased me of the color and has my hair looking better than ever. I am constantly getting compliments on my hair.
Dhea is also fabulous. I have received spray tans and waxes from Dhea and she is wonderful! I always find myself looking forward to a visit to studio booth!

I absolutely love Studio Booth.
John cuts my hair, and he is fantastic. I’ve sent four other people to him, and all of their hair looks fabulous too. We all get compliments. My husband goes there too. He uses Annie. She is the ONLY person who is allowed to touch my husband’s hair because she’s a miracle worker with his ridiculously thick mop.
As for the salon itself, all of the employees are at the top of their game: friendly and with impeccable timing. You walk in, and they immediately greet you. You sit down, and they get a coffee or tea in your hand. Best of all, they are not at all pretentious about it. They just seem happy to work with you.
Just go there. You will love it.
Hands down it beats that «other» high-​end salon in East Liberty… especially since they won’t spend the entire time trying to sell you Bumble and Bumble products that you don’t need, don’t want, or can’t afford. (Although I do love me some Bumble and Bumble, I want it on my terms.)

Bleh. Not the place to go for a pedicure, that’s for sure. I made appointments for my Mom and I on a Saturday afternoon. Having checked out the website, I tried to register and secure the dual appointments online; however, their site isn’t sophisticated enough (yet) to allow for booking more than one slot at a time. So, I ended up calling to make the appointments the old fashioned way and spoke with a human being. She was friendly and booked the spots for my mom and I.
Oddly enough, she didn’t say anything about what type of pedicure we wanted (there are three of different types listed on the menu of services), so I figured the front desk or technician would clarify with us at the time of the appointment. We walked in to quite a frenzy at the front desk area. Both cashiers were busy, so we were ignored for five minutes until things cleared out a bit. We checked in and were told to wait in the seating area. Our technicians came to get us and we were escorted back to the pedicure area.
At this point I started to regret picking this salon for a pedicure and not my usual cheaper nail salon… Studio Booth definitely is more of a hair-​focused salon. Tons of stylists here!
The pedicures were sub-​par. I was majorly bummed at the lack of a leg massage as well. Basically non-​existent.
As we were checking out afterwards, the girl at the desk tried to charge us $ 55 each!!! You’ve got to be kidding me. I am usually never one to argue, but we did NOT receive the spa pedicure– what we had was basically less than I am accustomed to at a cheaper nail only salon. I explained to the cashier that not only did the girl on the phone not specify what type of pedicure to book us for, neither of our technicians did either, so we assumed it was just the basic $ 40 option (especially with the lack of anything additional, including a calf massage!). She snottily replied to me that the $ 40 pedicure is, «basically just a glorified polish change» — Um, yeah. Whatever. Finally, she obliged and agreed to charge my Mom the $ 40 price, saying that they were «training new people». I was charged $ 45 as apparently it was $ 5 extra for a bit of nail glue on my big toe due to a cracked toenail.
Not a great experience — hopefully the hair services exceed the pedicures!

In sum, great talented staff members and friendly ladies at the front desk.
I’ve only been here once. Once is rarely enough for me to give a place the Jordana-​stamp-​of-​approval. I was a walk-​in appointment on a Friday. I was also fortunate enough to have ran into one my favorite colorists who has apparently been working there for two years. I knew this place would be amazing with I saw he was on staff.
Sadly, one of the pains of being in graduate school is the lack of money. I lost track of the best colorist while I was still a student. Let me say, he is absolutely the most talented and amazing colorist I have ever had color my hair [which says a lot I am a highlight snob I’ve been to all the big name salons throughout Pittsburgh and suburbs]. I have had men compliment my hair. Men. Since when do men pay attention to a woman’s hair? They do when he does the color, cut and style! Yes, if you want any sort of color service that will look simply beautiful: see MATTHEW.
My stylist on the day of my walk-​in was Rae. Great chic. Very personable, friendly, and helpful. My hair cut was executed perfectly. I also inquired about other services and I will be able to update my review in the next two weeks about how those services went after I receive them!
I feel this establishment is located within a convenient location [two doors down from Trader Joe’s], hires talented staff members, and has a beautiful and clean facility.
Did I mention you can book on-​line? Neat. I love on-​line booking. Places they offer it show me the customer that they care enough about the customer to be flexible. Now I ask you-isn’t that awesome?

Place rocks. The people who work there are all the best at what services they provide. So, it is an All Star Salon. You get that vibe as soon as you walk into the salon.
We drive from Washington County to get there and it is worth the trip. Izear is the consumate professional. He listens to my kids and gives them exactly what hairstyle they desire.

I am moving to Cranberry but will still make the drive to come here every six weeks. Imagine being treated like royalty with a stylist that really knows what they are doing. I love that it is obvious I am not loaded but they treat me like I am.
My boyfriend even goes here (he converted from supercuts, this says a lot).
The owner is great, my stylist Stephanie is great! I am pretty conservative but she does such a great job I find myself saying the words, «I trust you, do you what you think will look good,» and I always love it.

I’ve been there four times, three of which were for nail services: 2 pedis, 1 mani. Everything was great these three visits – definitely worth five stars. The other time, however, was for a hair cut, and this alone is why I gave them three stars.
My medium curly hair is sometimes a challenge for stylists. I have a regular salon where they always make me look my best, but they couldn’t take me when I needed, so I decided to splurge and go to Booth, figuring that I would be in capable hands at a high-​end salon. Not so. The cut itself was fine and what I asked for, but the style… wow…atrocious. I do tend to exaggerate at times, but this was really, inarguably atrocious. I was so embarrassed to walk out into the lobby that, as soon as I left the mirror, I had to tug and smooth and rearrange it ferociously, hoping the stylist wouldn’t see.
I’ll try my best to explain the ‘do in all of its horrid glory. After the stylist was done applying entirely too little styling product and drying it, it looked like a ball of fuzz. Realizing this, he grabbed some smoothing cream and proceeded to twist large sections of hair into greasy, fuzzy ringlets. Yes, ringlets. Big, fat, half-a**ed ringlets. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, and I’m entirely too polite to ask him how much crack he was smoking when he asked if I liked it.
Needless to say, I will NEVER go there for hair again, and unfortunately I can’t remember the stylist’s name or I would certainly divulge it.

I just happened to find this place after a Trader Joe’s shopping spree. Badly in need of a brow wax, I dropped in to make an appointment. A few days later, I saw Julie for my appointment. The rooms where they wax are peaceful, with calming music piped through. You feel as relaxed as you can be — which is important, since waxing makes some people anxious. Wendy did a great job, and she used hard wax at my request (not paper strips) which I think makes for a MUCH better and less painful wax. She clearly knew a lot about shaping, and I feel like I really benefited from her expertise. I don’t feel like I had just my eyebrows «cleaned up,» there’s actually a strategy in place to build and maintain a shape.
Impressed, I returned a few days later for a much-​needed haircut and partial highlights. Wendy did both services. She gave me a tour of the salon first, which was nice, and then I got to learn what other services they provide. All the décor, from the waiting room to the styling areas to the shampoo tubs, is sleek and sophisticated. Julie did a great job on my highlights, matching my existing blonde color perfectly. She listened when I explained how I like my hair to be cut, and also gave input of her own which was helpful. She cut it skillfully, and I got lots of compliments on my pretty straight hair. I got it done on Saturday, and I was able to go without washing it until Wednesday, and it still looked pretty (with a few flat iron touchups!) Today is the first day I’ve worn it curly since she cut it, and fortunately it still looks great. The length is really perfect.
I’m definitely a fan — talented stylists and a classy atmosphere. I also brought a product — something like Moroccan Curl Oil — which is a great, non-​sticky replacement for my old drugstore curl gel. It was expensive, but I like what it does for my hair! The place is pricey though — it’s what you expect to see at a high end salon, however, so I think it’s definitely appropriate. You get what you pay for, but not everyone will be able to pay for it. It is a lot — especially when you tip on top of that.
