Remember to save room for a homemade dessert, even the ice cream is homemade! We now have a signature dessert available daily — Burger & Fries. Yes, you read that right. Ask your server about it, you will love it!
Our Slate Plate menu is all inclusive — $ 15 for a choice of one of seven smaller dinner entrees, a salad, a vegetable and a starch, a roll, a non-alcoholic beverage and a choice of one of two desserts. The availability of this menu is Monday — Thursday, dine in only, from 4 pm to 6 pm — your orders must be placed with the kitchen before 6 pm. Pair this specialty menu with a glass of wine for $ 5, ask your server about it.
History
Established in 2012.
Dave Sgro’s great Uncles owned a restaurant that was a local favorite. His father also worked there, and brought his children often. Dave grew up, surrounded by the masterfully prepared cuisines of his family, and bore the well known Sgro name, established by his family’s culinary arts
Cheryl Tacka owned and operated a restaurant, bed and breakfast in West Virginia. Her career and talents later brought her to Piccolinas, where she met Dave Sgro. For seven years, the chefs worked side by side, trading thoughts, ideas, recipes and fine ingredients, until their philosophies and styles began to fuse, and Slate Bistro was born!
Chefs Dave Sgro and Cheryl Tacka opened the doors of Slate Bistro in August 2012.

Cheryl Tacka owned and operated a restaurant, bed and breakfast in West Virginia. Her career and talents later brought her to Piccolinas, where she met Dave Sgro. For seven years, the chefs worked side by side, trading thoughts, ideas, recipes and fine ingredients, until their philosophies and styles began to fuse, and Slate Bistro was born!
