I love Tom! He is always so hospitable and fun to talk to while he’s working on your nails. They always consistently do a great job and have gotten me in and out of the door when I’m in a hurry.
Is it the best nail spot in Pittsburgh? Eh. BUT, when I was living in Oakland, it was a convenient location to campus and the customer service is hard to beat. The family is so wonderful. Also, the prices are very affordable compared to most other salons in Pittsburgh. I moved to Shadyside a couple years ago and still found myself occasionally coming back to S&T because the prices are hard to beat, along with the personable experience you get!

During my trip to Pittsburgh this summer this was my go-​to place. It’s run by a family business that works together. It’s best to call ahead for an appointment, although walk-​ins are welcome. Very relaxing and great quality! If I’m ever in Pittsburgh again, I will be sure to visit!

Anyone recommend any good nail salons in Pittsburgh? because this is not the one…
apparently getting my nails done in Pittsburgh is something that cant be done… there’s bad services everywhere… Did i complain to them? NO. I would have… but i was just to tired to deal with idiots… Sometimes the best way to deal with the issue is by ignoring it and walking away…
If somebody is performing a service on me… they should not be on their cell phone… for the owner to be on the phone while telling me to wait and then made several phone calls after that… made me really anger… of cores im going to take my money else where… why would i want deal with this crap… That is just poor service and its ridiculous… I wouldn’t say they did a bad job on my nails since i walked out… but they didn’t do a good job either since i was eyeing on another customers gel pedicure… That’s one of the main reason why i walked out… It’s so annoying… this might be the only place that does walk ins but you have to sign in like your at the doctors office… which is stupid… everywhere in Pittsburgh you need to set an appointment when it comes to hair… massages…or even the simplest task like getting your nails done… crazy!

And my never-​ending struggle to find the perfect nail salon continues…
S&T is conveniently located in Oakland. It’s best to call ahead and make an appt, they absolutely give priority to appts over walk-​ins (as they should!). Parking is available on-​street at the meters, but being Oakland, you may not find a spot as close as you’d like.
My pedi was standard. No massage, and the technician kept stopping what he was doing to glance up at the TV. All in all, he was done in 25 minutes (not including the nail design). Not great, not totally awful. The kicker was waiting over 20 minutes for the polish to dry before the design I requested could be applied. I’ve never had to wait that long anywhere else before. The design was great, though!
Less than a week and I already have chips in the polish:(No waxing services offered here, either. $ 35 for a half-​assed pedi with a cool design… eh my search goes on!

Couldn’t have been happier with their work here! The owners are so nice and will remember your face even if its been months between visits. The first time I went, it was around lunch time… they painted both my finger nails and toe nails (beautifully, I might add!) and fed me authentic Vietnamese food.
I went back months later in the summer and they remembered me! They welcomed me with such warmth and kindness you would’ve thought I was going there every week. This time around I asked for nail art. Since it was summer, I figured, «Hey why not! Let’s go nautical and get some whales painted on my nails!» Let me tell you, they were the prettiest nails! The whales were ADORABLE and looked exactly like the picture I showed the gentleman.
In short, I highly recommend this place. They’re incredibly kind, fairly priced, do GREAT work, clean environment, etc, etc, I could go on and on about them! If you’re looking for a place to get your mani/​pedi done at, I recommend S&T Nail Design!

Terrible! I walked in on a Monday at 11am hoping to get my nails done. I was not greeted or even asked what service I wanted. I picked my polish and sat down to wait — 30 minutes later I was still waiting with no acknowledgement from the staff. Not a walk-​in type of place. The facility is pretty dated as well.

Just. No.
They rushed all of our mani/​pedis. Looked like I could have done them. Not worth it. At all.

I absolutely love this place!.. it’s conveniently located right in Oakland which is very close to my house… the service is always great and affordable… and the nail techs are so nice and friendly… definitely a great place for some you time or an outing with friends!

This salon is great! I have been coming here for years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else in the city! The atmosphere is great, the nail techs are personable. Sue, Tam and Tom all get 5 stars from me. They do excellent work. It is a nice, intimate setting and very relaxing. This is the go to place if you need a mani/​pedi for any events, wedding, birthdays, girls day out. All that said, I highly recommend this salon.

Did a rush job because there was an appointment coming in. susan barely put lotion on my feet (completely missed my toes) as, she was too busy looking at the clock. My nails were filed crooked and the polish was streaky. I saw, other customers getting foot massages, which I never got. This place was a mess for me but others seemed to be getting quality service.

My husband took me for a mani/​pedi for my birthday back in September. The owner and her son worked on us and they were fantastic. The mom is hilarious and so sweet. We had a great time and my nails were perfect. It was the best mani/​pedi I’ve had in a long time. I’d be a regular if I lived in Pittsburgh. Highly recommended.

I had a really hard time finding a nail salon in Pittsburgh. I really liked this one though because the owners were so personable and cool. They have been at this location for over 15 years.
It is a no frills type of place, but you can tell that the couple really care about their customers. I had a really nice conversation with both of them and they did a really great job on my nails. It’s been almost 10 days and my nails still look pretty awesome.

I went here for a gel manicure. They were very friendly and helpful, but my nails started cracking the next day and chipped in a week. A gel manicure is supposed to last 2 – 3 weeks. I’d go back if I wanted a standard manicure, but not again for what I got.

I really like this place. Its owned by a husband and wife. They both do an excellent job. I recommend going doing the week bc I think its just the two of them and it can get busy.
