I called this morning and spoke with Pat. She was extremely rude from the beginning, while I was asking questions she angrily cut me off every step of the way. I finally just asked her, «Is this not a common question people call in with, is this not the appropriate department to call to ask about this?» And she dodged the question. I really was not sure and a direct answer would have been nice! I am thinking about buying property in the area and wanted to ask if the building inspector would approve or work with specific building materials I have in mind. Even if I was off base to call here on this topic, she could have told me specifically it’s not something they handle, instead of cutting me off and saying, «I don’t know where that address is. I can’t help you.» She just kept saying that over and over and wouldn’t let me finish a sentence. I just wanted to make sure I was speaking to the right office before bothering the building inspector. But even if she didn’t recognize the address I had at hand, it wouldn’t hurt for me to speak to the building inspector since I’m looking at a few properties in the area. She wouldn’t let me get that out and never made it clear if I should even be bothering the building inspector with these questions. I finally asked her what her name is, and she got defensive. Which tells me that she’s not proud of her behavior. Well, in the end she hung up on me, because I told her I would write a Unilocal review about my experience. I’m just wondering if anyone can work with her, and am I really the most difficult person to call her office to warrant that kind of treatment? I have seen some crazy people at the airport throw fits and get better treatment. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it trickles down from the top so I’m assuming the building inspector isn’t a treat to work with either? If you have something good to say about this department, go ahead and post it. Maybe it was just a fluke. If I could give this a negative rating I would.
