Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium

I’ve been to a LOT of zoos both in the US and internationally. The Pittsburgh Zoo is pretty mediocre. Parking was really out of the way in this creepy, dirt path, cramped lot. I’m not sure if we had to pay but just guessing that we did since you have to pay for parking everywhere in Pitt.
The aquarium is definitely better than the zoo. We can thank PPG for that! The zoo itself was very small and had very few animals. It wasn’t very memorable and there were no scheduled shows. I have a rating system for admission zoos and free zoos. This zoo runs you at about $ 16 and doesn’t even compare to the free Lincoln park zoo in Chicago. The exhibits weren’t creative or expressive. I think the best part about the visit was just the entrance escalator since everything is on a freaking hill in this city.
The Cleveland zoo (free for residents) is about 3x better. It has that sweet rain forest dome that’s separate from the zoo and an absolutely HUGE variety of animals and cool looking exhibits.
Going here once was quite enough. I don’t really recommend it. Zoos i absolutely do recommend:

Today at the Pittsburgh Zoo, Noelle Teel, Tony Vanoy and I enjoyed watching the gorgeous flamingos. They are so colorful and I just love that shade of pink. We also enjoyed watching the huge Rhinos and it seemed like they were watching us too. They are so massive. They are one of my favorite animals. Tony Vanoy loves the lions since he is a Leo… Noelle Teel and I just love those big kitty cats. Great day at Pittsburgh Zoo… The Elephants are one of my favorite animals in life… I love to visit them in the zoo and I would love to see them in the wild. Noelle Teel and Tony Vanoy joined me in visiting them today at the Pittsburgh Zoo.

It has been years since I have been to the Pittsburgh Zoo, but my friend and I just graduated and wanted to visit before we moved out of Pittsburgh. At $ 16 per adult, the zoo’s price is fair, especially since parking is free. Despite being in our 20s, we spent just over three hours at the zoo and had a blast. Someone with kids could easily turn this into a whole day trip.
I think this zoo has doubled in size since my childhood. The entire middle section of the zoo is all less than ten years old, and it seems like there is quite a bit of new construction still going on. There were way more food options than there used to be, and plenty of additional fee entertainment. It does feel like the zoo nickel and dimes people throughout their visit.
There were tons of animals to see, such as polar bears, penguins, rhinos, lions, flamingos, crocodiles, sharks, and monkeys! The exhibits did seem really small in the new area, especially the snow leopard’s area. You could also see old exhibits, like the black bear’s, in complete decay. As that was once a huge exhibit, it seems like a waste to let weeds grow there and make small cages in other places. However, for Pittsburgh, this zoo has a nice range of animals.
There are giant kids play areas, and they are well staffed. Don’t let these people complaining about them deter you. Of course you have to watch your children in them. Some of these reviews are hilarious.
I will say that the zoo really lacks in ADA compliance. You could not safely bring someone in a wheelchair through due to the steep grades and cement imprinted animal prints. This is my new interest area so it is something I really notice when going out. No one should be excluded from somewhere as fun as the zoo!
All in all, a great way to spend an afternoon.

I spent a lot of time at the zoo when the kids were little.
I haven’t been back recently even though we kept our membership.
I am always impressed with the new exhibits (new for me is the Islands section).
A trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo is still a great way to spend a summer day, with or without kids.

My family and I have visited many zoos over the past few years while we were in the military. Pittsburgh Zoo is not the freshest zoo in the country. The entry fee is relatively low compared to San Diego Zoo for example, but many really great zoos such as St Louis and Chicago, have no entry fees at all.
* Our biggest complaint with the zoo is the children’s play area. Some of the play equipment was worn out or old, but some of it was just plain dangerous. I’m not a litigator but I was considering suing the zoo after my kid got stuck in the mole rat tunnel complex. There’s no way for parents to enter or access their child if they get stuck or get ill when they’re in the pipes. I was on the verge of calling 911 or using my pocket knife to cut my way into the pipe to rescue my child when my wife was forced to climb up onto the pipes (signs prohibiting this on the pipes but you have to do what you have to do) and help our kid escape. *
Most of the Zoo is fine, but stay away from the kids’ slides, the playground gear and anything that seems like it might be a hazard. A small boy was killed at this zoo recently and it seems like the zoo management hasn’t learned anything about safety in the interim. If it’s crowded with energetic big kids, be especially careful if you have little ones under 5.
Beyond that, the entire park looks like it could use some landscaping and paint just to spruce the place up. I was pretty shocked to see the pavers outside the Jambo grille were all wavy and uneven (a tripping hazard) and they were just put in last year — obviously in a hurry by an incompetent builder. Considering how many people go to the Pittsburgh Zoo and the large amount of entry fees being collected, the facilities really need to be upgraded and taken care of better.

The zoo and aquarium were a cheap and a likable place to be active and entertained. My favorites were: the Dwarf Cuttlefish which is NOT a fish but more like a small octopus and squid. I love how he glides through the tank. The cheetah with its distinctive eye marks and spots. The African elephants with their soulful eyes and super cool trunks to suck up haystacks. The monkeys because they are so funny and interact like a comedy show.
The walking trail is easy to follow, parking was free and the cost was worth the day we spent on our Saturday. The only negatives were that there weren’t any cool shows or lack of info on them and no paper map. Also, it has a few incline problems for stroller pushers or guests with handicaps. There is a tram car on the weekends though.
We chose the zoo/​aquarium over the more pricy museums and had no regrets. Although we didn’t bring kids, families seemed to really love it too.

I’ve been to numerous zoos across America and one of my favorites is the Pittsburgh Zoo. If you want to see the maximum amount of animals at the zoo and have the most opportunities to shop at the gift shops I recommend going in the late spring/​early summer when it’s not too hot and not cold.
I have been to this zoo numerous times and I have always had a great experience. They have a wide variety of animals to see. At each exhibit you have a great view of the animals. My favorite are the tigers and elephants.
If you have kids you will spend a lot of time in the «Kids Kingdom» where your kids can run around on the numerous play areas like the cargo net and slides or the «jumping» bridge. You can also get close to other animals like deer or Kangaroos.
The aquarium is top notch. They have a large selection of aquatic wildlife to see. There’s even a tank available to let Zoo visitors pet the Manta Rays. From here you can watch the Polar bears play which is a lot of fun. You can also see the Sea Turtles that they have rescued and are rehabilitating.
The only downside to the zoo is that it is built on a hill so visiting the zoo requires a lot of walking up and down hills. This zoo is still one of my favorites and I can’t wait to share it someday with my children.

Perhaps I entered the Zoo thru the wrong way, but when I got off the bus. I had to walk thru the parking lot to get to the ticket booth. There was no real safe sidewalk.
This was an average size zoo, but with above average perks.
CONS: some enclosures were small, I noticed relative behavior in the polar bears and the Amur Leopard. The indoor gorilla exhibit made me feel a bit sad.
PROS: you can get close to the animals. The cheetahs were only about 5′ away. For lunch Jambo Grill is a must…$ 7 for a cheese burger in a brioche bun. The aquarium is well kept and really informative.

Being that when we had gone it was very hot, I had noticed that there were not very many places to catch a water fountain. My children love it here. The many species of animals is wonderful and the aquarium is beautiful. The zoo has definitely upped the anti since I was a child for sure! The workers are very helpful and ensure that any question we have, from where a water fountain is to a question about an animal, is answered and satisfied. The parking is never terrible when we go during the week days. The price for admission is not crazy. Over all a thumbs up!

Love the zoo! I been here numerous times growing up and as an adult. It’s very clean. One thing I don’t like is the over priced food that was really nasty. Other than that, very nice place!

It had been a few months since I had been to the zoo and my family (including 6 year old and 10 year old nephews) wanted to come visit and go on the day after Christmas. We got there around 1:30 and it was not busy at all, the weather was overcast but warm for the end of December.
There is free parking which is wonderful and it is $ 12 for adults/​$ 11 for seniors & kids. We checked the AAA rate but it was $ 15 a person which I was confused why it was more expensive than general admission but whatever. They do give $ 1 off your total with a Shop N Save Perks card. For the size of the zoo, the quality of exhibits and how healthy and non-​miserable the animals seem to be, the price is good.
It is on a hill so if you have trouble walking or are pushing a wheelchair or heavy stroller the Pittsburgh Zoo could prove to be a challenge.
There has been a lot of construction since I was there at the beginning of the year and the new Islands section is a nice addition, it was a neat viewpoint to see the top of the gorilla habitat and there was one walking around up there. My nephews liked that there were a lot of little areas where they could climb on things, pose on statues, etc. The interactive exhibits are nice too; my nephews liked petting the stingrays and really enjoyed the tunnels in the meerkat display. I was surprised that the only bears now are the polar bears and they did come out and walk around for a bit, no diving in the water when we were there though. The tunnels under the polar bears and sharks are a great view. I think people do forget that they are real animals and they do sleep or sometimes not want to come out.
I’m definitely not a fan of circuses, aquariums and animals as entertainment in general and call me a hypocrite but I do like the Pittsburgh Zoo a lot. The animals all seem healthy and there are lots of enrichment toys in their habitats that they aren’t just staring at a wall.
My biggest advice is to AVOID THE FREE DAYS. Mothers Day, Fathers Day and the free RAD days offered by the county are great but it is sooooo packed you can’t even enjoy yourself.

Wow. The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium was so much better than I thought it would be! I like that it’s a two in one experience. You get both zoo and aquarium in one place! My favorite animals during the visit were the otters, polar bears, tigers, sharks, and llamas. One point of concern though is regarding one of the polar bears. At first I thought it was just doing a dance of some sort, but it just kept moving its head back and forth and walking up and down this ledge. I think it has some issue — hopefully not as a result of being in captivity. I really wish there was more information about the bears as individual bears (i.e. how they got there and about their well-​being).
The aquarium part was really cool. They have a clear tunnel where you can just sit and watch the sharks/​other fish swimming around. You can also see the polar bears and otters from an underwater viewpoint. The signage at the zoo, however, is not the best. We almost missed the cool underground views because we didn’t see the sign and thought we were at the end of the aquarium/​zoo path. At the same time, because we didn’t know where we were, we ended up being pleasantly surprised that there was so much more left of the zoo! And in a sense, I felt like they saved the best stuff for last, so if you go for a visit, keep going and make sure you leave enough time for the end!

This is my favorite zoo hands down. I used to live in San Diego and I’ve been to their zoo a couple times and every time I was disappointed because it didn’t compare to the Pittsburgh zoo and aquarium one bit.

Stopped at the zoo on our way out of Pittsburgh. Thought it was cool that the aquarium was combined with the zoo in this city.
We went up to purchase tickets, which I think should be less pricey ($ 15) during the colder months seeing as how half the animals were no where in sight probably due to trying to keep themselves warm. Plus we are AAA members and there is no way to obtain your discount price at the window if you are visiting last minute from out of town because they won’t honor it without prepurchase.
There were long walks between sections of the zoo. Lots of incline walking that my body personally can’t handle for the 2.5 hours it took to see almost the whole zoo area. It was dead for a cooler Monday afternoon, which is to be expected but I felt I was in an abandoned town at some points. I loved the animals I could see, but the glass was so extremely dirty and scratched from the inside that it was impossible to make out what the animal looked like. All you could see in my pictures I took was the focus it put on the smudges and dirty glass vs. the animal I was trying to capture a shot of. They definitely need some updating in the exhibit part. The aquarium was cool though, lots of different fish and water creatures, and the best of all — penguins! (It is Pittsburgh, it wouldn’t be right if there were no penguins)…but again the glass was very dirty in my opinion so very hard to capture pictures especially when the Penguins were swimming through the water towards the bottom of the glass.
The worst part of all was the indoor monkey exhibit — the second we walked in it smelled like a rotting corpse… Or if you’ve ever owned a lizard — imagine not cleaning its cage for a year. The stench got worse as we made our way around the circle it went in, there was no getting around it. People were so disgusted by the smell that at least 3 groups with kids told us they were leaving the exhibit because it stank so bad. I didn’t blame them. It was bad.
Overall this was an ok Zoo experience. I wouldn’t go out of my way to ever travel the distance to check it out and gladly I was just in the area. It’s a nice place to take younger kids and go as a family if you want something to do since kids enjoy it. But this one didn’t wow me.

Great zoo. Me and my fiancé were flying in and out of Pittsburgh airport to the Bahamas so we decided to see and do something while we were here.
The zoo to me was amazing it was 15 dollars and that included an aquarium as well as the zoo which to me is a great deal even though my fiancé though this was expensive. Lots of parking spots and a short walk from parking to the entrance the whole place is decorated with halloween decorations for the kids which is cool.
When you get through the gates you walk up to these giant escalators which take you up to the zoo area. The bathrooms were very clean at least he ones I used.

You are walking around they have great little activities for children when walking around such as a jungle area as well as a playground that was just built. I would list every animal that they have but it would take me a very long time.
My favorite part about this place was the aquarium it was amazing there was so much to see they had a huge selection of different fish sharks and squids. Octopuses (such a weird word) and squids and penguins and sea horses. They have polar bears, seal lions, and otters and walruses… I could go on but you get the idea I hope. They have this area were you walk under the polar bear tanks and you can literally feel like you are under water.
All in all I had a very great time my only issue is that at some places it was sort of dirty but this place is huge so I get its hard to keep up on everything.

Beautiful zoo, excellent exhibits, with all the typical favorites, plus a monkey house, reptile building and a beautiful aquarium with an awesome shark and the cutest penguins!
My 8 year old loves the kids kingdom, which has a petting zoo, little boat ride, and a HUGE playground! I think he could spend the whole day just in that section and be completely content. :)
I heard that they’ve also been adding some restaurants and new exhibits from what I’ve heard. I can’t wait to go back next summer and check out what they’ve been working on!
Another cool tip, mothers/​fathers get in for free on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day! The only downside is that it does get pretty crowded sometimes but that’s to be expected and really not a big deal. Amazing animals and fun for the whole family for the day, definitely worth it!!!

The aquarium section is vast and incredible! You could spend all day in this area alone and it would be worth the season pass. The elephant and giraffe areas are awesome, but some of the cat exhibits are sorely lacking, especially when the temperature exceeds ninety degrees and you’re watching a snow leopard hyperventilating in the sun. It’s clear where they’ve invested their time and money and where they haven’t. This needs to be fixed for the animals’ sake! Hopefully better environments will be created for the big cats.

We really loved this zoo. I was hesitant to go, since this zoo has been in the news — they are losing the AZA accreditation, and as a general rule I do not go to animal facilities that are not accredited. I left feeling that the animals are well cared for.
First off, my «home» zoo is the Philadelphia zoo, one of the premier facilities in the country, so most other zoos pale in comparison. Not the Pittsburgh zoo.
This is a very large zoo. We got there at 10 am and didn’t leave until almost 3, which included a brief stop for lunch. We could have stayed longer had we fully explored all the children’s playground areas. A stroller is a must, and for those who can’t handle the long walk they even offer free tram service.
We picked up discount tickets at Giant Eagle and saved ourselves $ 2 a ticket. That said, with free parking, I thought the admission was reasonable, and actually cheaper than their contemporaries.
The zoo is laid out in one giant loop, themed by each area of the world. The natural landscaping gives the zoo a sort of wild appeal and it’s easy to pretend you are trekking through a jungle to see all the animals.
We were fortunate to go during the week (I hear during the weekend it’s a mob scene). This allowed us to have long clear views of each enclosure. Shockingly many of the animals were right up against the glass, which was equally thrilling for me as well as my toddler. We got up close and personal with leopards, monkeys and even a very large polar bear. It was very cool.
It was a particularly hot day when we went (92 degrees) but luckily this zoo has many indoor, air conditioned facilities including an interactive exhibit in the new Island area, the aquarium, the reptile house, and an area in Kids Kingdom. What this meant was we still had an enjoyable and cool time in spite of the heat.
There are interactive play features in quite a few areas of the zoo. Kids can crawl through an aquarium, or pop their heads up in a meerkat exhibit. There are also two large outdoor playground areas. One was shaded so we took advantage of that, the other was not so it was too hot for us.
Like most zoos there were small attractions scatter throughout. A highlight for me was the little log boat ride. Too adorable and for only $ 1 it was an affordable indulgence.
A new eatery opened this year called Jambo House. I was hoping for more exotic food, but the same fried American fare was featured. That said they also offered healthier options including tasty salads. The facility was gladly air conditioned and offered an awesome view of their African savannah including Giraffes and Zebras.
Another notable highlight is that you can feed the Giraffes here. We did not partake as we had fed them at another zoo earlier in the season, but for $ 5 it’s a great and unique experience.
In all, adults and kids alike, had a wonderful time at the zoo. I would gladly return.

If I were reviewing for myself I would give the zoo four stars, but I am also writing for my blind, wheelchair-​bound sister who accompanied me. I really liked the zoo and I thought the exhibits were very well-​done and impressive. My sister, on the other hand, wasn’t able to get much out of it. I realize that going to the zoo is an activity primarily for sighted people, but it would be nice if there were more blind-​friendly activities. The Kids Kingdom was nice as there was the opportunity to touch some animals, but not all of those exhibits were very wheelchair friendly. For instance, the double door into the goat pen was a very tight space for a wheelchair and a person to push it. Also, if you’re operating a wheelchair (or stroller for that matter), be prepared for some very steep hills.
Important tip: if you buy tickets at your local Giant Eagle you can get a discount. Also, the food is ridiculously expensive (e.g., $ 3 for a 20 oz bottle of water), so it’s best to bring your own snacks (although check the zoo webpage for the guidelines for what you can and can’t bring).

If you’re already here on this review, I don’t think you need me to tell you the zoo is fun. You’ve already got animals on your mind. What else were you going to do, watch Youtube videos of kittens? I think the Pittsburgh Zoo is worth the $ 15 for at least one visit.
My friend and I arrived 2 hours before closing, and we were able to make a very satisfactory loop through the whole zoo. I liked that there was a clear flow through the loop, so we barely needed the map. It’s still a lot of walking though, so wear comfy shoes!
There was a nice coziness to the size of the zoo. There weren’t too many people on this summer Wednesday afternoon, which made each enclosure feel almost like a private viewing. My favorites:
— Red panda: if only humans could be as adorable when eating.
— Blue monkeys: something about their puffiness really appeals to me… they’ve got a high squish factor.
— Polar bear: on a humid day, of course we’d find it splashing around in the pool. (Take note: white crates are the new hit summer toy.) Later, we walked through a tunnel underneath the pool at just the right time, and it dived underwater across our heads. AWESOME.
— Elephants: it’s baffling how big elephants are… even the babies. We saw some excellent trunk work, as they gobbled up hay and vacuumed Cheerios off the floor.
— Sea lions: Biggest Personality award. One particularly showy sea lion flopped onto the top of this tall rock, cried out, then dived straight into the water. What a diva.
I had so much fun strolling around, watching these animals do their thing. That being said, it has been a looong time since I’ve been to a zoo, and I’m the kind of the person who can get distracted watching squirrels at the park… so take my review with a grain of salt if you must. :P

This zoo is amazing. Even thought it’s not that big I felt I had better chances seeing animals closer here. I loved everything there, spent there almost all day. It can get crowded though (I went on Thursday and it was very crowded).
The aquarium was really great too!
Would love to come back again!

I defiantly consider myself a zoo super fan! I like the Pittsburgh Zoo and I love the PPG Aquarium!
I knocked a star off of the rating only due to the zoo’s size and because I despise being harassed by the third party companies that rent space at the tunnel entrance to the zoo and at various locations throughout the park.
I still have mad love for our little zoo and cannot wait to go back to see the Islands addition!

The Pittsburgh zoo has come quite a long way since I remember my first time visiting the zoo as a child. The first time I visited was probably about 1989 when we first moved to Pittsburgh, and at that time, the «children’s zoo» (If you could call it that) consisted of a yak, a couple of small mammals, and a camel. The redesigned Kids Kingdom is quite the maze of slides, rope climbs, and tunnels, in addition to a walk-​through deer path (It’s nice to see them alive instead of dead on the side of the road for once) and walk-​through kanagroo path. They have a nice indoor building that also contains bats, small mammals and reptiles, and a lot of interactive activities for kiddos of all ages.
The zoo divides the animals by continents, which from other zoos I have visited, is a standard way of organizing exhibits. They are lacking some animals I have really enjoyed from other zoos, namely panda bears and hippos, but they do have a wide variety in general. Many cities have separate aquariums, however, Pittsburgh’s aquarium is part of the zoo and included with admission. Just like the kiddie zoo, the aquarium has come quite a long way from the dolphin I remember as a child that always looked so sad swimming back and forth. My favorite exhibit is a tie between the penguins and the tall shark tank. For kids they have a touch tank with manta rays in it, which is neat.
Obviously, you want to pick a nice day to visit the zoo, but I’d also suggest going on a bit of a cooler day if possible. The animals are more active then and you don’t sweat up a storm hiking through the hills the zoo is built on. Also, parking is free but there is a PAT bus stop right there too.

I am spoiled by living in Columbus and having a season pass to that zoo. I like going to a zoo for about 2 hours and then my little toddlers and I are finished. This zoo’s set-​up isn’t great for that approach. It is a one big circle with a lot of hills, narrow paths, and everyone going one direction. I like the ability to move around as I see fit but this place encourages everyone to go the same way.
We took our double stroller which is nice but the stops are so close together that got sick of getting kids in and out. Also it felt like I was getting out of the way of people all day.
Best exhibits are the aquarium and polar bear. They also have plenty of shade which is nice. Parking is free and we got 50% off with our Columbus member ship so there are many good things about this place as well. I am just spoiled by a huge layout with plenty of options to come and go as I please. Also people with strollers must use the elevators to get in the zoo.

I just love the Pittsburgh Zoo and this is actually quite amazing for me to say because I usually don’t enjoy zoos. The size of this zoo is perfect, not too big. Plus, there are many trees with lots of shade, which is perfect because it’s always ungodly hot when we go to the zoo.
You can usually get great views of the animals, especially the tiger and the giraffes. The monkey room is always fun, despite the smell. And we love checking out the aquarium. We have finally started to enjoy Kids Kingdom now that my son is 19 months. I’m looking forward to when he can go on all the slides at 2 years old. He really loves the petting zoo. I think petting the goats was his favorite part the last time we went.
The food at the zoo is nothing to rave about. They were serving hot dogs with hamburger buns the last time we were there. I don’t usually expect a lot in terms of food at museums or zoos because that’s not why you’re there, but I’m getting spoiled in Pittsburgh with the cafes at the Children’s Museum and Phipp’s.
We also love photo booths at places like this as a small souvenir without spending a fortune for a stuffed animal we don’t need, but the photo booth at the entry was broken the last two times we were there.
My best tip for the zoo is to get a zoo pass. It’s already paid for itself since we got it in March. We love it because we don’t have to spend an entire day there to feel like we got our money’s worth. A whole day there can get tiring, no matter how much you enjoy the zoo. But a few hours to see a few favorite spots is perfect.

What a nice small zoo. Everything you want in zoo and all you need is 2 or 3 hours to see it all. As an adult I had to dodge kids every step even on a Monday but that just comes with the territory. But hey on a nice day bring a lunch and for 15 $ you can take a nice walk and enjoy watching the animals.
The Pittsburgh zoo has a nice group of rare to common zoo animals with my favorite being the gorillas and snow leopard. Now seeing the gorillas might be a challenge since they seem to enjoy hiding under a massive log pile inside their exhibit. I also found the aquarium had a nice amount if fish and I really enjoyed the small indoor primate house.
If your stopping in Pittsburgh or have kids this is a nice place to stop in. Also they have drinking nights. I have yet to stop in for that but maybe I will one day.

Bobby & I decided to head to the zoo on Sunday. I checked the weather forecast and it was supposed to be a beautiful October day so I was excited! My friend informed me early in the week that it was the last weekend for Zoo Boo, so I was kind of nervous for the crowd. Luckily Zoo Boo didn’t start until 11 so we made sure to get there about 945 – 10 for a good head start.
I haven’t been to this zoo in almost 6 years and since Bobby is from Florida, he has never been there. We honestly had such an amazing time! As predicted, we beat the crowd and got to fully experience all of the animals and exhibits. Every animal was absolutely breathtaking to watch! At one point, I told Bobby how I feel sad that these animals are in captivity. not even 5 minutes later we walked to the polar bear exhibit which informed us that at one point there were 2,000 polar bears and now there are less than 300. Bobby explained that it’s good that the polar bears are here. They can reproduce and help their own population.
My favorite was the red panda! Wow he (she?) was so adorable! Another favorite was the Tropical Forest exhibit where the monkeys are located. They were all so cute and interesting. One monkey only had one arm but he was getting around just fine! We spotted a baby orangutan who was given cardboard boxes and had a blast playing with them. He entertained us for a good 15 minutes (& that’s a long time to watch one animal at the zoo lol) I also thought the reptile house was interesting. The building however is not very clear on what it is. We almost skipped it before asking a zoo worker. I thought it was a building for a café or something of that nature. Oh, another cool thing would be the kangaroos. You can walk on a path and get really close to them. The zoo keeper handling the kangaroos was really informative. The kangaroos were laying down and she explained that they are most active in morning and evening. during the day they just save their energy and keep cool by laying around. She suggested that next time we get there early and head straight to the kangaroos. They may walk up to you while you’re on the path! Of course the aquarium is beautiful as well. The polar bears werent in the water, so the tunnel wasn’t fun without them swimming around :(oh well, maybe next time. It was entertaining to watch them play outside of the water as well.
Clearly we had an amazing time! The look on Bobby’s face was like a kid on Christmas and i’m sure mine was as well. We will have to make this visit more often. like 2 – 4 times a year. Why not! :) Oh, by the way, a family pass (2 adults in a household and their children under 18) is $ 95/​year. That is an AMAZING deal!
