Healing massage is a collaborative process. I encourage my clients to work towards greater self-awareness and self-care, while using my knowledge to cultivate a space in which healing can occur. My signature style is integrative — utilizing tools from a variety of modalities to address the goals expressed by my client. Sessions are individualized and client-centered, with treatment plans created in collaboration during intake and outtake.
My goal is for my clients to feel that they have an active role in creating in their health care.
I specialize in Swedish, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue Therapy, Trigger Point, Prenatal Massage, Sports Massage, Oncology Massage, Polarity Therapy, Reflexology, Reiki, and Aromatherapy.
I am available for private workshops in massage techniques, Infant Massage for new parents, and dance and movement classes.
History
Established in 2013.
I received my massage therapy education at the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY. Over the course of the 1,000+ hour program I studied Swedish Massage, Shiatsu, Connective Tissue Therapy, Trigger Point, Polarity Therapy, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Prenatal, and Sports Massage. I also had the opportunity to work as a massage practitioner with developmentally disabled adults at a state facility adjacent to the school.
During my time in Ithaca, I also studied Reiki with Master Teacher Jim Bucko at Fall Creek Healing Arts Center.
In addition to my massage education, I hold a B.A. in liberals arts from Sarah Lawrence College with a concentration in modern dance. My years of movement experience has influenced my style of massage, with many of my clients describing my work as «feeling like a dance.»
In February of 2013 I opened my own private practice in Pittsburgh, my hometown.
