It’s unfortunate that I have to review this hospital due to a family member needing breast cancer surgery. Fortunately, she is doing well, a successful procedure by a great team of surgeons. This hospital is amazing, a beautiful lobby is well staffed with helpful, friendly associates. Directed to the third floor, the waiting room was large and airy, lots of televisions, tables and chairs, and free coffee, hot chocolate, cappuccino, and lattes. We were then asked for one of our cell phone numbers and every half hour we were sent text messages or called, and a friendly nurse would give us updates during the procedure. Since it was a seven hour operation we went to a café on the lobby floor. There we found lots of comfort food, soups, sandwiches, beverages and sweets. The sandwiches were reasonably priced and fresh and delicious. The staff of UPMC Magee are a fantastic group of people. Great staff of doctors and nurses who seem to care about their patients and their family.
