I had a gel fill for the price quoted with glitter gel polish and I am very pleased with the result. They are nicely shaped, perfectly polished and technician asked about having a pedicure as well. I didn’t need one today but will try this salon again on my next trip to this area. Technician indicated he has more than 20 years experience and it showed in the work he did and the time it took him to do it!

I’m giving 2 stars because my nails have always been done well, however the service here is horrific. I’ll start by saying the first time I went, I walked in without an appointment and there was nobody in the salon. A gentleman approached me right away and asked what he could do for me, and started my nails. About 5 minutes in, after all of my nails have been sanded down, another woman walks in and says she has an appointment at 1:00pm with Andy(who, was the man who was doing my nails). He asked her if she had called ahead, which she replied yes, and he apologized to me and told me he had an appointment and passed me off to another woman, who happily took and me and continued my nails. This alone, would not have been an issue, however, 5 minutes later a group walked in and suddenly the entire salon was busy, and all of the nail techs were taken, which caused a huge inconvenience when another woman walked in, again saying she called ahead and had an appointment at 1(subsequently with the woman who was currently working on my nails). This time however, since all of the techs were busy, there was nobody to pass me off to, which meant she attempted to do both of our nails at once. She rushed the remainder of my manicure and hurriedly put me under the UV lamp and left me to sit there unattended for 15 minutes before another man appeared from the back, half glanced at my nails and then told me how much I owed. I felt completely neglected, and rushed through my visit. Tho I completely understand that I walked in without an appointment– they could have very easily told me they had 2 appointments coming in and that it would be a wait. I would have happily stayed, or come back in an hour– but they didn’t give me that chance. Instead they passed me from person to person. Figuring that I would be better off with an appointment, a few weeks later when I was due for a fill– my friend and I called ahead and made an appointment for two specific individuals. When we arrived, we signed in and told them we called ahead and had appointments, and were immediately told that the people who we made appointments with were OFF! I asked why we weren’t told that when we called, and were given no response. Regardless my friend sat down and right away the gentleman who checked us in started working on her nails. I, however, sat and waited about 15 minutes before any of the other nail techs even acknowledged me. AND, a group of 4 girls came in while I was waiting, WITHOUT an appointment, and were immediately taken– which prompted me to speak up and remind them I had called ahead for an appointment and had been waiting. Finally, one of the techs that we had requested walked through the door(after they told us he was OFF) and started working on my nails. All in all the communication here is horrible. I would NOT recommend this Nail Studio for that reason.

I went for the(most expensive) spa pedicure and a basic manicure. When I walked in, I asked if she could cut an ingrown nail out, she said, «yes!» As she was almost done, I reminded her about the ingrown nail. She said that she cut it out. I said nicely, no you did not. Most normal pedicures, the technician cuts the nail away from the nail bed routinely. None of my nails were cut. She argued that she did them but I watched the whole procedure and she argued that she did. Her massage was awesome! The following day I called to voice my issue to the manager who said come in. I drove back to Robinson from the city and the so called manager said maybe it was a misunderstanding. I assured her that was not the case, she understood English and we discussed it many times. The manager then said that I needed to go to a doctor to have that done. It was a basic nip and cut. I paid 50 dollars and gave a 20 tip. I will NEVER go there again and will tell others through social media about thier poor service and attitude toward their customer. Thye following week, I went to a good salon and she had to cut all my nails because none of them had been cut. I was lied to from the technician and the manager. I miss the original owners, like Q, that did a fantastic job and had a good work ethic.

Hours say they are open until 8. I went in at 720 and they told me they are closed even though there were 3 people working.

I was thoroughly impressed with the service provided at LA Studio Nails across the street from the Mall at Robinson, in the Joe’s Crab Shack/David’s Bridal shopping center. I needed a set of gel acrylics removed and wanted a regular gel manicure. I didn’t catch the name of my manicurist, but she did an amazing job! At so many other places, when I have asked for an acrylic removal, they dip them in acetone and yank them off! So painful! But at LA Studio, my manicurist took the time to dremel and dip a total of four times(!!) to get the acrylic off. Now, doing it this way, it is almost impossible to get off the entire acrylic, and I was left with a thin coat of left over acrylic, but she buffed it out and with the gel on top I can’t tell. If you are looking for complete removal of all traces of acrylic, than perhaps you would do better with the dip and yank method; but I for one appreciate keeping the integrity of my nail in tact. There was a pretty good selection of gel colors and I opted for a matte-looking charcoal, which I think has a very sleek look without going too dark or goth. With how dark the color was meant to be, my manicurist went over the color four times(!!) and had me dry under the blue light between each coat. All in all, I had a great experience, and having been here before, I was aware that they run a little pricier than other places nearby. With the amount of time it took my manicurist to remove my acrylic and the care she took to do both that and quadrupole coat my color, $ 35 was a steal for a great experience! I was honestly expecting it to be at least $ 40 – 45 and would have gladly given her that!

I still haven’t found a decent nail salon in the Pittsburgh area. This place is like the others. They carry OPI and China Glaze polish, and they do manicures, pedicures, acrylic, gel, and waxing. SERCVICE: I had the regular mani and pedi. The guy cut my cuticles too much, botched on the polish, and wasn’t very helpful with suggestions on polish color. Plus they overcharged me. If I’m paying to get my nails done, then I want them near perfect. And this place did not add up.
