Jeff’s Lock & Key Service

Some backstory; after calling over 20 locksmiths, I finally landed upon Jeff on Google. I needed code cut keys made for our business (that is, a key made when you know the lock biting, but don’t have a key that works. Users have lost keys over the years and we were left without any originals).
I would have thought most locksmiths could handle this, after all, cutting keys for master-​keyed lock systems is probably a daily occurrence for many of them. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to be the case. It seems most «locksmiths» are actually just «lock changers» and «key duplicators», they don’t actually practice the art of locksmithing. Out of 20+ locksmiths that I called in the Pittsburgh area, only 3 were capable of cutting keys for me. B&P in West Mifflin were charging extortion prices ($ 20 EACH key and I needed 4! Plus duplicates!), one down in South Side who was not convenient to get to), and Jeff’s Lock & Key.
I can’t say enough about how pleased I am with Jeff’s service. I called him at ~5pm, he answered the phone, knew exactly what I was asking for and charged the least out of all of three in Pittsburgh that would do it. As I didn’t have all of the key bitings on me at the time, I simply just called back much later that night and left him a voicemail. The next day he initially wanted to meet at a time that I just couldn’t do. Instead of pushing me off as a low-​dollar customer (my order was only $~67), he arranged to meet me at our facility that evening, hand delivering all 21 keys that I had requested, exactly as I requested them.
On top of great value and very quick turnaround time, he’s a genuinely friendly guy to boot.
I rarely ever right reviews, good or bad. But I was just so impressed with his over the top customer service, I felt I had to leave this review for Jeff. Not nearly enough companies care about their customers as Jeff seems to. Here’s to supporting the small, local business!
