Howard’s Towing & Recovery

I haven’t officially ‘used’ Howard’s towing service, like I haven’t called and gotten a tow– so maybe this is kind of a weird review. So why am I writing??? Because one of their trucks just stopped and pulled me up Greenfield Avenue after my prius lost momentum and wouldn’t go anywhere on the bottom of that snowy hill, for free. First person to stop and ask if I needed help after 5 or so minutes and it happened to be the super nice, tow truck guy who took time out of his day to pull me up the hill. Sounds like a great local business to me. Thank you!!!

Jesse was there to rescue me in minutes with a sincere smile and a professional attitude! Howards Towing is AWESOME!

I parked somewhere I shouldn’t have parked, and got towed. Ugh, my bad. But the experience actually was way better than I expected. Howard and his apprentice offered to pick me up and take me to their shop, since they were in the neighborhood, which saved me quite a hassle. He was professional and friendly (we had some time to kill as we went thru rush hour traffic) and I couldn’t ask for anything more.

The driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. I drove my car over a curb an got high centered during a snow storm. He took his time an figured out the best way to get it out without damage. If your in need of towing services i would highly recommend these professionals.

These people waited until my husband got out of his car to hook it up. We are both visibly disabled. We parked in the Home Depot lot in East liberty. We needed to stop at the bank first to get money to spend at the Home Depot. After only walking to the ATM, witch is only feet away. Then he start hooking the car up to his truck as my husband tried to get across the street. He plotted on us from the vary beginning and didn’t care about our well being at all… He even called the police when he was supposed to be calling his office for info. SNEAKY!!! Then when I called their office, they said $ 240. Then when we went to pick it up, they added $ 60 more dollars.
These people are cowards who hustle money from disabled people. They don’t care about taking food out off poor people’s mouths just to make money through aggressive towing tactics. Watch out for them cause they’re trucks have different logos and phone #‘s on them. These people are truly rotten and may be on drugs or something. Forgive me if they aren’t on drugs. If you get caught up with them, you make your own observations. They almost make me feel bad for them. That’s probably why they do stuff like this.
Don’t park in the ‘Depot’s lot unless someone stay to watch your car. Word is ‘they even towed some of the Depot’s employees cars also and the store doesn’t care; I spoke with them also! Good luck everyone. Don’t let these people hustle you!!!

These scumbags tow your car and charge you $ 110 for two hours storage. Thieves!

I work for a hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, and when our courtesy shuttle broke down on us one very busy Saturday night in the middle of a busy downtown intersection, I called the first tow company that came up on google. While I hope to not be in that situation again any time soon, I will most definitely skip the google step and immediately call Howards. They were there promptly, and Jesse and Tyler took great care of me. They had the shuttle back to the hotel quickly and at a very fair price. Thank you for helping me out of a very stressful situation!
