History

Established in 1984.

Gutter Helmet® dates back to 1960’s when Bob Demartini, inventor of Gutter Helmet, first developed his ideas for a solid, meshless, cover guard for gutters. Granted with 3 U. S Patents, Mr. Demartini in the early 80’s began manufacturing and marketing his patented gutter protection system. He sold his assets to Masco Corporation a couple years later and licensed the exclusive rights to his patents.

In late 80’s and early 90’s, Gutter Helmet manufacturing and sales operations was established at the American Metal Products plant in TN. Over one hundred dealers were added to the network and Gutter Helmet was on its way to becoming America’s most trusted gutter protection system. In 2001, the Gutter Helmet line was acquired by Hart & Cooley and then changed ownership in 2006 when SEMCO, acquired the line.
