Established in 2007.

Environmental Logic, Inc., a Pittsburgh-​based environmental consulting firm that was incorporated in 2007. EL specializes in cost-​effective, sustainable-​oriented solutions in the fields of environmental investigation, remediation, risk assessment, environmental auditing and compliance. EL was established in 2007 and is Woman Business Enterprise (WBE)-certified with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (Certification No: 11 0930Environm), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)-certified with the County of Allegheny under the Unified Certification Program’s (UCP) (Certification I.D. #13 315) and a PennDOT-​approved business partner (#5 877). EL collaborates with a number of specialty scientists and engineers to provide a wide range of environmental science and engineering expertise, particularly those working independently or as minority-​owned business enterprises, including other WBEs and other small businesses, as part of collaborative teaming arrangements.

Ms. Zak, President and Chief Scientist for Environmental Logic has over twenty years of environmental experience in the following areas:

* Environmental Project Management

* Preparation of sampling and analysis plans and environmental investigation reports

* Negotiations with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies

* Environmental compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

* Management and implementation of human health and ecological risk assessments

* Environmental auditing of industrial facilities and treatment, storage, and disposal (TSD) facilities

* Management of environmental restoration projects (e.g., Natural Resource Damage (NRD) projects in the U.S.)

* Field ecology

* Water quality study design and implementation

* Wetlands delineation

* Storm-​water related water quality studies

Ms. Zak is a Registered Professional Biologist. Ms. Zak’s academic credentials include a BS in Bio/​Chemistry from the Univ. of Pittsburgh and an MS in Ecology from Penn State.
