I was told I needed a «deep cleaning» that would take two visits with a hygienist, as well as a filling for a cavity between two teeth. Because they seemed to aggressively market the«deep cleaning» from the moment I walked in, I decided not to go back to this office. I’m glad I didn’t. I visited another dentist(a family friend) who informed me that all of these services were unnecessary. They have a convenient location Downtown, but that doesn’t make up for their aggressive sales strategy.

I had my first and last visit here yesterday. I waited in the lobby for 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. The receptionist and the hygeniest were very friendly and sincere. However, Dr. Monaco I saw for maybe 3 minutes at the most. She was very short and seemed to be rushing me after she claims I needed 2 crowns or I may need a root canal in the future. She did not discuss any other options with me, I left very confused as to why I would need crowns put on teeth that only have cosmetic defects. There are no cavities, and are not causing me any kind of pain. Also, the price quote for the crowns were outrageous. I know that’s not a cheap procedure, but I called 3 other dentists to get a general idea of cost per crown and there’s was the highest. I found out from a different dentist as well, that the insurance I have has an agreement with several dentists in the area and the price should not be that high. Get a second or third opinion.

I will never go to this dentist again. The woman who completed my dental procedure did a fine job but the billing department and customer service is atrocious(in my opinion). I would check out the Better Business Bureau website and search for Emmert Dental. I really really wish I would have done this prior to choosing them as my dentist.

UPDATE — DONOTUSETHISDENTIST How do you convert five stars into just one? Ask the billing department at Emmert Dentistry. Because of them, I take back everything I said in July. The dentist was great, but the back office is so bad that I will never go there again. I paid my share up front, but Emmert billed the wrong insurance(in spite of clear directions from me) and repeatedly harassed me for more money even after I got directly involved with the right insurance company and got them paid. The latest indignity is that they want me to pay $ 15 for a copy of my x-rays so I can go see someone new. Note to the dentist: I paid for those x-rays. Those x-rays belong to me. You can pay to have a copy made for yourself if you want, but you cannot keep the originals
