History

Established in 1984.

Blooms Florist originated from the back of my Dodge Colt in the early 80’s. I moved back to Pittsburgh when my father got ill and started a business in my parent’s home. I moved from New York City, where I supplied fresh flowers to client’s on the soap opera Ryan’s Hope. I thought, why not try that in Pittsburgh PA? I started by placing free vases of flowers around hair and nail salons along with department store counters. From there I built a clientele. moved to my first retail location on East Carson street, an exotic paradise hidden in the antiquity of Pittsburgh’s South Side.

After growing out of two retail locations, we moved into a 4000 square foot warehouse on a dead end street. 15 years later, we’ve packed up and moved to Pittsburgh’s Strip District. Our flowers are flown in fresh from our sources around the globe almost every day.
