Last year for our anniversary, I came home from work to a beautiful raspberry tort cake that read«happy anniversary»”. It was delicious and so pretty. Beautiful display of raspberries on the side.

Food is good but watch out for the older crabby lady behind the register who clearly hates her job.

I love this place!!! Lunch and breakfast items are a little expensive but they are very good. I really enjoy their croissants, cupcakes and cookies. Everything i have tried has been delicious

The pan au chocolat is sinfully decadent. I am still drooling over the ooey gooey chocolate with those flaky buttery layers. The macaroons were for the most part basic chocolate, vanilla and raspberry flavors, but they had meyer lemon which I don’t see that much so I got two of those. My husband and I bit into the macaroons simultaneously and our eyes popped out. There is a refreshing burst of bright lemon flavor and the shells are wonderfully baked-not at all dry. I was a little disappointed with my latte however. I’m not sure if it was the cup it was served in but the flavor just tasted a bit metallic. This place is a definite must though for fresh baked goods.

Everything about this place — food, service, atmosphere was A+ I had the filet mignon sandwich, and it was delicious! The bread was soft and fresh, and the steak was tender. It was absolutely perfect. They also had no issues with the slight modifications that I made to it. I also ordered a birthday cake cupcake for dessert. It was great! The place is gorgeous and all of their desserts are perfect looking.

Great, upscale bakery with a beautiful looking bakery case. Lots of seating to sit, relax, eat, have coffee, and also a few seats outside. Friendly staff and nicely described some of the pastries as well.

I have eaten once at the Wexford location and the meal was very good. I got take out from Bartram House tonight from the South Side location and it was not what I expected at all. My boyfriend got a burger and fries, which was overall good, but I got the Mediterranean grilled chicken wrap and it was pretty terrible. There was nothing Mediterranean or grilled in my wrap at all. The chicken looked like it was boiled and tasted like lunch meat and there were no olives or anything of Mediterranen flavor in the wrap. The menu described it as having a Tzatziki on it but mine has something I would describe as runny mayo. Overall not what I was expecting. We also got a few desserts. I couldn’t resist — all the the desserts look beautiful. We got the cheesecake and and flourless chocolate cake. I was really excited about the flourless chocolate cake because it is my favorite dessert ever but it was COMPLETELYINEDIBLE. It must have been sitting in that case for more then a week. It was ROCKHARD(even after the 20 minute car ride home in 80 degree weather). The cheesecake was not nearly as tasty as I expected and it has a weird layer of «icing» on top of the actual cheesecake that I would describe as an overly-sweet whipped slime. The desserts were a feast for the eyes but overall a waste of my money. I will never buy a dessert there again. I would rather eat Cheesecake Factory’s frozen cheesecake then whatever is going on here.

I recently joined a few friends for brunch at Bartram house. The location is in the newer part of the southside near southside works. The inside of the bakery/café is very clean and modern. The pastries and cakes are all on showcase on the counter. I think I gained 5 lbs just looking at the sweet goodness. Unfortunately for me, I’m on a(temporary) dairy free diet. Therefore, I had to pass on all of the deliciousness that was taunting me as I placed my order at the counter. The staff was very accomodating of my special diet. I chose the half sandwich and salad combo. I went with the California club(minus the Swiss and the pesto) and the harvest pear chicken salad(null the blue cheese). We then waited at our table until our meals were delivered. Both my sandwich and my salad were very good, I imagine they would have been even better without my adjustments. The chicken was very moist and the bread was soft and delicious. However, I was rather disappointed that my Harvest pear chicken salad was missing the pears. Though, I didn’t bother to ask for it to be corrected. Overall, there are great options here for savory and sweet dishes.

Stopped in for breakfast and a few pastries. Ok wasn’t really planning on stopping here but walked by and saw someone with a breakfast sandwich that looked amazing and decided I wanted one too. I had a croissant breakfast sandwich that was everything I hoped it would be. They did forget my tomatoes so I had to ask for them but that’s not to big of a deal. The coffee is also served pipping hot. So much so the I had to let mine sit for a good 30 min before I could even drink it. I had a hard time deciding what sweet treat I wanted. They all looked amazing. I went with the macaroons. They were good. Not as good as I was hoping for. I wish the flavors were a bit bolder but they satisfied my sweet tooth.

Continually amazed with this place! Somehow there is only few customers inside, but the service is always fast paced, focused, and ready and willing to help! I just sampled the blueberry and chocolate chip muffins, both delicious, the salted caramel macaron, amazing but a little sweet, and the coconut macaroon. The hot chocolate was also good but standard. Check this place out!

The pastries look delicious. When you walk in you are greeted by a large showcase of fantastic looking pastries. I was looking for more of a breakfast sandwich or roll. So I built my own breakfast sandwich on a croissant. Delicious. The croissant was perfectly cooked and tasted great along with the egg and other items I added. If you don’t feed the parking meter, be careful. One person did not and the city parking patrol car pulled up and before he got to his car the meter lady already had the ticket printed before she even got out of the car. So put a quarter in the meter.

Beautiful sunny day in the burg — great day for brunch with a good friend. This was my first visit to the the Café. We placed our order and was given a number and found a table to sit at. There was plenty of seating available but most of the tables were not so sturdy — we moved around a little bit. The seating arrangements were pretty close together. I don’t recall any booths just tables and chairs. This isn’t a place where you go to relax. you just eat and run. We had to ask for napkins there wasn’t any — any in sight there is. I noticed a lot of customers going to the counter and asking for napkins. When we arrived at Noon the place wasn’t packed but by the time we were eating it was packed and groups of people were coming in. A waitress/server brought our food out like within 5 minutes maybe. and it was delicious. I had the house coffee and it was good. Everything was fresh and quite tasty. I was pleased with the home fries, they were seasoned just right. The prices are a little higher than at a diner or Eat n Park perhaps but you get what you pay for. I did notice after we left that my hair/clothes everything smelled like I was at diner. Similar to a fried food type smell. Overall it was a great visit –the café and restrooms were clean, the service was good and the food was delicious. I will be visiting again.

They have amazing pastries and serve breakfast and lunch all day. The food was really good and its cute and clean. I wish the customer service was a little better. They were by no means rude but I wish they were friendlier and more welcoming when I told them it was my first time there. I wish they had said«Welcome» and explained things without me having to ask so many questions but other than that it was really good and we’ll add it to our list of local spots.

This has been on my «Must Try» list for awhile. There is one of these in Peters but I never seemed to make it there. My son and I decided to have dessert here today. They were almost full. People were having coffee, desserts, and food from the café. When we walked in you could see all of their goodies on display. It was SO hard to choose! My son got the fruit tart and I got the chocolate caramel bar. We sat by the window and watched the snow fall. We tried each other’s desserts. They were both excellent. I can’t wait to go back and try the café food and some of the other treats.

My favorite spot for breakfast on the Southside, and generally a great place for a bite anytime of day. Years before this local Bartram popped up in my neighborhood, I was a great fan of their South Hills, McMurray location, where I loved their giant omelette’s chock full of fresh veggies and variety of tasty proteins, turkey sausage is a favorite. I’ve had a few of their salads, my favorite being the Mediterranean Salmon salad, and the Filet. They have some awesome sandwiches, a killer Reuben, and quality BLT. I have not got a sweet tooth, enjoy the savory, so I cannot speak to the beautiful cakes, macaroons, pies etc., but have gifted some friends and family with various kinds of those for birthdays, and they have been a hit!

My new obsession! After driving by Bartram house for over a month and wondering what they had to offer, we finally dropped by for brunch. Since then(just 3 weeks ago) I’ve been back several times for lunch, brunch, and pastries:) I’ve tried the breakfast burrito(served with fresh pico on the side), oatmeal with berries(slightly but not overly sweet, served with strawberries, blueberries and blackberries), Asian salad(mixed vegetables in a delicious sweet chilli soy dressing served on top of iceberg lettuce with wonton chips and cashews) and the chicken tortilla soup(a spicy, salty, bowl of goodness). Everything I tried was incredibly fresh and delicious. The surprise stand outs were the soup and salad! My fiancée loves the pulled pork sandwich, and being from the south and a connoisseur of pulled pork, his approval is hard to come by. Their pastry case is incredible and beautiful. I can’t wait to try it all(especially the macaroons!) We now regularly get their blueberry muffins, which hands down are the best we’ve ever had. We’ve also tried the cheesecake, and although good, I probably wouldn’t order it again(creamy but not very sweet). What’s more? The service is great, and every barista/server we’ve encountered has been wonderful. Extra bonus– for those missing almond milk in your specialty drinks since Pete’s has closed, Bartram house has got it:) So excited for this to be in our ‘hood — looking forward to going back!

BHB is probably my favorite place to eat at after work out. My usual here is their strawberry walnut salad with sweet vinaigrette dressing and a salmon fillet. It’s a healthy and under $ 10 meal option. Among their bakery items, their macaroons(not macarons) and Russian tea cookies are pretty great too. Other than their good quality food, their location which is right across from L A Fitness makes them an ideal place to grab an after-work out meal.

The food & atmosphere were fine. The problem was that it is expensive for the quality. A veggie omelet with toast & hash browns was $ 17. I now understand how they are able to afford the décor. If you are going to charge that much for basic breakfast food, I expect it to be piping hot(it was just warm) and the best omelet I’ve ever had.

I heard such great things about this place in the short time it has been open and was super pumped to check it out this morning. The atmosphere is calm and inviting and there is a wonderful aroma of pastries throughout the café. There were so many to chose from ! They were displayed so beautifully when you first walk in, but I wanted something a little more satisfying than a pastry for breakfast. I placed my order at the register, took a number and chose a table. I ordered the bananas foster crepes. They were awesome! Three crepes rolled up with a cream cheese icing filling, covered in bananas foster sauce and fresh bananas. So delicious! My one complaint is that I lost a lot of the cream cheese icing on the plate when cutting the crepes, so that was disappointing haha. Service was also great! I can’t wait to come back and try more of their amazing deserts and sweets!

Their dessert/pastry marketing is ONPOINT here. Seriously, you walk in and it’s like walking into heaven. I was probably drooling onto the floor. But it was a healthy day for me, so I skipped the sweets and went to the salads. I had the Mediterranean Salmon salad(pan-seared salmon, mixed greens, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes, banana peppers, red onion, feta cheese, and greek feta vinaigrette dressing). They have a small and large size. I got the small, and to be honest, it was large in my opinion! So to have the big would be massive! Plus it’s only $ 9.99 vs $ 13.99. I also loved the dressing and thought the salad was loaded with the good stuff, the toppings. Sometimes they scimp on the toppings, but they didn’t. The salmon was a decent size and cooked perfectly too. Looking forward to visiting again… I’m coming back for the sweets, don’t you worry!
