I have used Colorful painting many times for my rental homes. They do high quality work at a good price. I will continue to use them in the future.

A truly despicable company. Shady management who couldn’t care less about their customer. Avoid at all cost.

Owner operator «Sunny» takes your money and never finishes the job. He has more excuses then the devil. Do not hire and do not give him money. He has a great talk and talks about his «honesty» but his actions prove other. I’m sure this is how he pays for his multiple homes he brags about and muliple pictures of fishing trips he does instead of showing up to work. Dont be fooled by his painting quote and talk of detail when painting your house.

Originally I was very pleased with Sunny and the work that was done. In July of 2014 they painted my house in San Ramon. I explained that we were putting our house on the market. Sunny showed me areas of trim that needed to be scraped or replaced. He assured me that certain work was necessary and he would make sure that at least this portion would pass inspection.
We had our house inspected and a few small trim areas came up as needing work. Some were just trim or sand and paint. I have called the office. No return calls. I have emailed the office. No contact. I have texted and left voice mails on Sunny’s personal mobile number with no response. One time I called and Sunny answered. I requested he stop by and talk to my realtor or my husband and let’s finish this up. He hemmed and hawed and agreed but never showed up. I have sent more texts letting him know we still need to see or speak to him and that I need to respond to my buyers. Today I had to offer my buyers a credit. An amount $ 635 could have been avoided if Sunny had completed the work he promised. Not a huge amount but I feel he should complete and stand up for his work. No integrity.

I got a quote from Colorfull Painting & Decorating in June 2014. The job was started on July 31, 2014. As Sunny was leaving on the last day, August 1, 2014, I noticed a big splatter of paint on the concrete and a little touch up that needed to be done. Sunny assured me that he would come back in up to three days to clean it, so I paid him in full. Since paint overspray dries like powder, it took me two days to clean the concrete and noticed splatters and drops of paint everywhere that were not able to be cleaned with water. It appears that they did not tarp the entire area prior to paint. In addition, I had to do a lot of touch up paint on my own where the old paint was showing through. There is still a lot of touch up paint that has to be done, including a second layer on the rain gutters where you can clearly see the paint color underneath, and where they applied too much paint on the down spouts and it dried in a river pattern. Then I noticed a lot of overspray on my windows, so I had to hire a professional cleaner to clean them. Finally, the crew did not cover my solar lights, so they all have to be replaced because the overspray ruined the finish and they cannot be cleaned. I tried to work with Sunny on multiple occasions to get them to come back and finish the job and take care of the damage. In fact we scheduled and then re-​scheduled on no less than three dates. Multiple excuses and almost two months later, I have hired another painter to do the job.
Bottom line: if you hire them — supervise the job thoroughly, make sure they tarp effectively, do not pay them in full if you have even one thing that needs to be done. Once you pay them in full you are no longer a priority so the excuses keep getting longer and more interesting.
I would not recommend this painter.

I hired Colorful Painting to paint my townhouse in 2011. Today I was reminded again how I was taken by Sonny. He was supposed to replace my baseboards but never returned to do them after I paid him so be could purchase them. I notice on every negative review they say they didn’t do the job. Just to remind them I was the one who was in the car accident when you started. My advice don’t pay them until you have checked the job for quality. I have lots of drips

RETRACTION
I originally had Sonny as a 5 star, and hired him for 3 jobs over the past year. The most recent job was for my home, of which was communicated that this would be our home and do your best work. Sadly the work was mediocre at best, Sonny said he would come back and «fix it» however we never heard from him. We had to hire another painter to fix what Sonny left behind.
My wife found Sonny and his crew while walking the neighborhood in Danville, it took some coaxing from her to have him perform our small paint interior paint job. However once it was done we were impressed so much we had Sonny repaint our kitchen cabinets, kitchen, bedroom, front door and garage! Not only was the price more then fair, we can honestly say we now have a painter friend for life! Sonny has the highest integrity, ethics and workmanship! All of our neighbors want him for more jobs, and I could not be happier with the work he did.
We will be calling him back again, and would STRONGLY recommend him! 5 stars isn’t enough for this guy!

Don’t recommend this company

I recently hired Sunny to paint the exterior of a rental property. It has a stucco exterior that was in poor condition with a number of cracks. Sunny did a great job patching holes, prepping and renewing the trim work of the home. They came early the next morning to complete the painting and it looks amazing. Thank you Sunny!

I’ve hired Sonny for 3 jobs over the past 3 years on my Blackhawk home (an exterior full house job, a gazebo with cement floor, and 2 interior bedrooms). I found him reliable, and the quality of his work is excellent.

We had a pretty bad experience with this company as well. The owner (Sunny) gives a good talk in the beginning about all the things he will do and how great his job is, but as soon as he got his check, it was nearly impossible to get him to come back to finish some areas that needed fixing. After weeks of trying to have him come back and being ignored, now we have to find someone else to correct his poor job. If you are considering this company, be very careful, and DON’T pay him until he finishes the job up to your satisfaction. Remember you will never see him once he gets paid. Don’t get burned like us!

We had our 5000 sq feet black hawk home painted by them. The owner’s name is Sunny… he’s extremely unreliable and not trust worthy. Initially he told us that it’s a 4 day job maximum. The work took almost a month… his crew would come one day and then no show for a week and so on. When we called to ask why he hasn’t shown. every time he would give us a different excuse. plus he ended up charging us $ 1000 more than his initial bid price. Also, he messed up all the ceiling work… he can NOT do ceilings. We ended up paying another company to re-​do the ceilings.

I met Sunny when he was painting my neighbor’s house. I was so impressed with his work and how his crew cleaned up at the end of the day. He gave me a very reasonable bid to paint my living room, family room, and dining room. Not only did he repair the poor job the previous painter did with texturing the walls and ceilings, he painted everything so beautifully it looks like a new house. I’m looking forward to having Sunny paint the rest of my house and would not hesitate to recommend him to any of my friends and neighbors.

Recently got our house exterior painted (just finished today in fact). It took a while for my wife and I to pick the right color, but finally got it done! I am very impressed at the quality of work. Sunny and the team spent last week power washing the house, and I also having done some powerwashing myself in the past, I was pleased to see the job was done quite throughly. The team did a really good job prepping (sanding wood, filling in cracks, etc.) and I was impressed they took off the outside light fixtures also… Also impressed they moved the storage shed that was close to the house wall… wasn’t expecting that. I did lot of painting (interior) in the past, so I am quite picky about borders, straight lines, etc, and I have to say the painting team did a fantastic job and paid lot of attention to details. Good job Sunny and the team. Thanks!

We just had the exterior of our Lafayette house painted by Sunny and his crew. He did a fantastic job! Our house looks like new. I got 3 quotes for a painting job and when Sunny came over and gave us his reasonable quote, I booked a day for our house to be painted on the spot. They did a great job prepping our house and sanding /​priming trouble areas before painting. They cleaned up very nicely and the crew was friendly. Sunny was there each day working on the job and supervising his painters. I highly recommend Colorfull Painting and Decorating!

I had a wonderful experience with Sunny and his crew. They spent a considerable amount of time prepping our house, which included a very labor intensive power washing of a moss-​covered section of our roof, which now looks new. In addition, they replaced several pieces of wood that was dry-​rot. Sunny also provided us with some great advice on accent touches that really highlighted the architecture of our house. In short, I would definitely recommend his professional services to all!
