History

Established in 2014.

My name is Claire, but most people call me Cissy. My family & I moved here from Florida in 2014, because my husband was recruited to UNC. We absolutely love it! I was born in South Carolina & moved as a small child to Florida, but I always missed my roots. This feels like home.

In Florida, my father owns an Architectural Firm in one of the wealthiest zip codes in the nation. He focuses on high-end homes, & I was fortunate enough to work for him since I was in high school, through college, and after. He has taught me nearly everything I know about design, flow, function, and the importance of proper planning. His teachings are priceless. Now that I no longer live in the same town as he, I have decided to continue home design on my own. Starting The Belted Cow Kitchens and Baths has allowed me to continue my design ambitions while still being able to work closely with my dad. He is an incredibly talented man and an important figure in my life. I am so proud that I can call him Dad.
