History

Established in 1997.

Our firm started as Pittsboro Realty and Development, Inc. and was then purchased by Barrett Powell, formerly with IBM in 2004. Barrett grew the company from 3 to more than 10 agents and purchased the RE/​MAX in Siler City.

Today, RE/​MAX Southern Advantage is a multi-​office Residential and Commercial real-​estate firm specializing in providing the highest level of service and leveraging technology to benefit our clients.

Business Owner

Barrett was an ex HP and IBM technology consulting executive who worked with Fortune 500 companies in the areas of innovation and technology.

After leaving IBM in 2000 to start his own real-​estate company, Barrett was able to purchase his first RE/​MAX office in 2004 and soon grew the company to it’s second office and more than 10 agents.

Today Barrett assist in running the multi-​office firm and consults with companies around the world in the areas of the Web and technology. Barrett is an active Realtor, working one on one with clients and is involved with buyers and sellers throughout the Triangle.
