Just Cookies

Um, yeah. Stop here for cookies. Just cookies. They don’t have anything else in their store other than cookies.
But cookies? They do them right. You’ll find some fancies and some basics, like really good sugar cookies. The shop itself is cute and eclectic. Old school. Small. Right on Broadway in the center of town.

This is my kind of a place.
I went to Pitman for another reason. When I returned to my vehicle, I saw that I was parked right outside this place. They sported a sign that said they had 72 different kinds of cookies. That appealed to me!
Frankly, I was in the mood for a nice chocolate chip. Upon entering, I knew immediately it wasn’t quite like I thought. One is not going to purchase one cookie here. This is a dainty shop where all the cookies are small. They sell them by weight.
Four chocolate chip make a quarter pound. These were loaded with chips! Quite tasty!
I will certainly return and try some of the other cookies out.

This is where we head when we are visiting family and friends, near and far! The cookies are always delicious and the people in the shop are friendly. True to the name, they only sell cookies, but they’re the best so it’s all you’ll need!

A huge time saver & stress reliever, they take away the guilt of not baking. They make familiar cookies only they taste better & decorate nicer while still looking deliciously homemade. If you want to be sly you can say you baked them. If you have a cookie baking disaster at home, they are a godsend. If you’re at a loss what to take to a party or give as a gift, this is ideal. They gift wrap. I forget about them except around Christmas, I hope to remedy that. Cute interesting shop and the people could not be nicer. Cash only but not a problem if you are aware, it’s a small business trying to keep consumer costs down. Very reasonably priced compared to baking at home.

We’ve been buying cookies and cookie trays from Just Cookies for the past 2 years and they are by FAR the best cookies we’ve found in New Jersey! Cookies are (as of December, 2012) $ 10.99 a pound, which also makes them a great bargain! We’ve tried trays from other bakeries and have always found them wanting; cookies are just OK, and they are not cheap!
We like to gift Just Cookie trays as party favors as well as when we entertain at home and we’ve never had anything less than, «Where did you get these cookies — they’re so delicious!»
The owners are very friendly and make a great assorted tray. Several weeks ago I ordered a «Guys Cookie Tray» — you know, guys! Big cookies; cookies with a lot of flavor; NO delicate, small cookies. The owner knew exactly what I wanted and when I picked the tray up — he nailed it perfectly!
The store is small — it’s downtown Pitman you know — but parking is free and the selection is great. The owner has a great sense of humour, and his wife knows how to twist it.
It’s always both a culinary treat and a lot of fun when you step in.
They accept only cash — no credit cards or debit cards — and I have to think that contributes to the very reasonable cost and high quality cookies they make.
