As a business owner myself, (Tri-​Valley garage door) serving pismo-​santa ynez & (All Pawn) located in solvang. I expect exellant customer service. That is what i got with Bill (the owner). That place was exiting!!! As a Pawn Shop owner and a picker at heart, i just wanted to stay there all day… (I’ll be back). He has got everything from surfboards to old coka cola memorabilia, yard statues, vintage bicycles, nautical memorabilia… I can go on forever… I have driven by this place for years, always thinking about stopping. Now your going to see my truck there on a regular basis… thanks again Bill for topping of a great sunday!

We’re so glad that we booked a kayak tour with Bill at Pismo Beach Dive Shop. He was super accommodating when we had to change our time and was a great kayak guide. Bill clearly loves going out on the ocean to see the birds, seals, otters, and (on our trip) whales. Bill’s style is kind of «loose», but we definitely felt safe and taken care of on our first ocean kayak trip. As soon as we got done, we were already thinking about when we could do another kayak trip with him! Thanks Bill!

Highly recommended! My wife and I had our 10 year old daughter with us and the Pismo Beach Dive Shop was more than happy to accommodate us. Bill was our guide and he was awesome. He was lots of fun, showed us lots of cool areas and took us near sea lions, sea otters, and dolphins. To top it all off, Bill took photos of us along the way and gave us a copy to take with us. A great experience all the way around!

What a fabulous time kayaking on the tour this morning with Bill and his daughter Nicole. Great caves and sights I highly recommend it! We will be back to do it again! Thanks for the memories!

The owner, Bill, was wonderful! He was very accommodating and happy to move our scheduled Kayak tour date when a storm moved in from Alaska! We would have been miserably cold kayaking in the rain and wind! Bill was happy to move it to fit our schedule. Very relaxed but professional and fun! Also, they gave us a DVD full of photo’s that Bill took throughout the morning for FREE! Thank you Bill!

Me and my family had a weekend get away last month! And had an amazing time Kayaking! We first went in to just rent 3 kayaks because we missed the morning kayak cave tours. But Bill was awesome enough to take us out again that afternoon! Their shop is fun and cool! My son became instant friends with the man (so sorry I forgot the name) at the Shop! Usually my 6 year old is shy, but he loved these guys! They are definitely kid friendly here. I would definitely come back and bring my business here! We already have plans to come back for surfing lessons :) See you guys soon!

Just had another great experience with the pismo beach dive shop. Bill is very helpful and has all of your central coast ocean needs. Whether it be diving, free diving, snorkeling, kayaking, surfing, and stand up paddleboarding.
In addition, they also do guided kayak yours and stand up paddleboarding rentals. I have never been on one myself but I’ve heard great things.
I personally just went in to get a new free dive wetsuit. Bill was great and very helpful in providing me with the right wetsuit for me.

i didn’t know whether to go with five or six stars, but since five stars is tops, I still want to give it six stars.
Here are the things I’ve done with them in the past six months:
Dive boat trip.
Surf board purchase.
Dive gear purchase and some rentals.
Kayak tours. (one am, two pm).
I’ve got to hand it to this place, they really rock and they really know their stuff. The owner, Bill is a really cool guy. He gives you info that would normally take someone about five years of living here to acquire. Good info about kayaking, diving, etc.

If you took one part dive shop, one part surf shop, one part kayak rental outfit, one part museum, one part sculpture/​glass/​collectibles shop, and one part Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, you’d have Pismo Beach Dive and Surf Shop.
Full service PADI dive shop, ethical service and prices.
They have more boards than any other shop in Pismo, more dive gear (and knowledge) than the other dive stores I’ve visited, and one of the most eclectic collections of gifts, sculptures, glass, and the best kayak rental and tour service on the Central Coast! It took me a long time to find a place like this, a one stop shop. Our family surfs, dives and kayaks, so this has become our go to place. The prices are low for the top notch merchandise and service you get. Their gift shop portion of this charming biz — the outdoor collection of sculptures, surf boards, collectible glass, shells, rock, etc — is a place we take our out of town guests to.
And of course, no business is truly memorable if the staff are humdrum, so about the owner: Mr. Wonka, er, I mean Mr. Bookout himself. Bill Bookout is the proprietor/​manager, he is an engaging, free spirited guy who is always so a blast to talk to about local surf, fish, dive and kayak spots. Bill is great!
The kayak tours are beautiful, he takes you to the best spots and explores the dinosaur caves and beaches on kayaks. And you will DEFINITELY see mermaids (wink wink you’ll see what I mean).
All in all, I’m glad we’ve got this gem in our community, as long as it’s doors are open we locals and tourists alike have a great one stop shop for all things beautiful and active on the central coast.

Did guided kayaking tour this morning n had a blast… seen lots of sea life out there including dolphins. Water was calm so it made it a nice kayaking experience for it being our first time. I highly recomend this place if its ur first time kayakng. Very friendly staff that makes sure u have a great time. They also have alots of cool items for sale at their shop. so check it out!

Great dive job. Bill was very helpful. When in Pismo be sure and visit! Surf and dive museum with an eclectic mix of collectibles.

Bill at the dive shop was very helpful in getting my hose and connector for my dive computer when I could not even get a response from other shops or even the manufacture. Now I can dive the harbor clean up on Catalina Island. Thank you Bill. He also has a lot of fun stuff there.

This is a great surf/​dive/​misc shop. It’s just a couple blocks from the beach and much cheaper than renting right at the Pismo pier. The owner is super nice and laid back. We rented a couple boards and suits for a few hours, and he got us outfitted just fine. Will definitely be back!

Just did a dive this morning with Bill the owner on my first dive in Pismo and first hunting trip… the visibility was great, got some great fish and enjoyed seeing the different environment of California diving… i will be back for more diving… i will also have to get the kids and grandchildren down for some kayak tours.

A unique surf and dive shop that is run and owned by a knowledgeable local. This dive shop provides excellent deals. Bill has a laid back personality that treats his customers with respect. It’s that type of service that keeps me back as a returning patron to this establishment. The shop also has rentals for surfing and kayaking with guided tours. This shop has helped me with several of my water hobbies. Before I moved to the area I had very little hobbies related to the ocean. Now I have plenty. If you just want to visit and check out the shops collection of random beach collectibles, this place has a surplus of them.

a most welcome local dive shop that offers dive tours scuba tanks for sale as will as aqua lungs regulators go pro digital cameras dive fins and much much more for all your diving needs, a big plus bill is super nice and very helpful sales man all in all 5 stars across the board also large selection of surfboards and kayaks very good prices !!! and very fast pro surfboard ding repairs no job to big or small

A full service PADI affiliated dive shop, friendly and knowledgeable. Got a great deal on a new BCD there and they have all the equipment you could ever need. I use the shop to service all my diving equipment. They also offer dive trips to Shell Beach, kayaking, pretty much anything you need, if you need to rent equipment they have it. Experts at local dives and areas to kayak. Wonderful souvenir shop as well. Since they are a PADI center, you can get fully certified.

Went kayaking for the 3 day stay at pismo beach and man the kayak trip was the best experience me, family and friends had. Bill and his associates are the friendliest few you can ever meet, the shop itself is really close to the beach and has a wide variety of selection in the store itself. Their very experience in there field and prices are reasonable. We didn’t have a waterproof camera so Bill offered to take photos for us and man was it worth it. Best dive shop in town and I definitely recommend this place for future vacationers. Definitely coming back to this same shop next year.
