Love, love, love! Erica is awesome!!! She’s done my hair for years and she’s the only stylist who touches theses tresses! From color, to cut, to the extensions I LOVE to have, she’s meticulously precise and up to date on all her amazing work! And the salon is beautiful! Also had my nails done by Kenny and he’s amazing as well! Highly recommend!

Sassy, chic, beautiful salon. Everyone is a sweetheart here. Very sweet and polite. Erica Vanderlinden is a very creative, talented and fun stylist. She knows her colors very well and is easy to chat with. I recommend her to anyone looking for a hip gal who has a way with scissors and blending colors. You won’t be disappointed and cookies, candies and coffee are always available at the back near the sunroom nail room. LOVE that!

Kenny does an amazing job on my nails every time I come here. My mom and my sister have followed him all over the central coast and when I finally came to see him I knew why. His attention to detail and the techniques he uses really make the nails sparkle and stand out. His area is in the back of the salon in a little sun room with a beautiful view. Great location and wonderful service. He used the Gel on my nails and they were still in tact after 3 weeks. I can’t say enough about Kenny, come see him.

As a long term visitor/snowbird from out of state, I was very tenuous about finding professionals for hair and nail care that would make me feel trusting and comfortable with their skills, creativity, abilities, techniques and outcomes. I saw Jasi Sotello’s shop while driving around Shell Beach. I have to be honest and say that even the curb appeal of her newly remodeled location drew me to the interior of where the«magic» happens! Jasi was open, friendly, posed lots of questions and suggestions. She truly considered my personal lifestyle, activities, etc. as we discussed the possibilities for my hair color and style. She turned out to be unbelievably talented and assured me that all of the beauticians/artisans in her shop were held to the same high standards and expectations. I asked for a referral for a mani and pedi, and she assured me I was in the right place. Nail artisan, Kenny Chau applied a most creative color and design, called ombré to my meticulously manicured hands. He made me feel like a princess when he was finished. My feet are smooth as a baby’s behind and my toenails sparkle in the sunshine with a vanilla ice gel treatment. Now, I wonder if they are willing to move home with me when I leave?

I forgot to write a post but this is about Erica I believe that was her name but I told her to cut at least 2 inches off my hair. She didn’t even bother to brush out the snarles on the bottom of my hair so instead cut above the snarles so it was about a good 4 to 5 ish inches off and I told her. Then she cut my bangs which I’ve been growing out. One side was longer than the other so ugly and she kept on cutting it and it got really short. She goes I’m just evening it out but it still turned out crooked. Like I felt the whole time she was so lazy. I kid you not I CRIED I was miserable until it started growing out so about 2 ish months I did everything to his it. I know its just hair but the bangs was the worst thing ever. Just go somewhere else and don’t waist you money.

I met Erica by a stroke of luck when I randomly called a salon out of the yellow pages for a haircut appointment after moving to the coast. I can honestly say this girl’s got skills! Cut, color, you name it and she’s awesome at it. So glad she moved to Fringe too. It’s such a cute and upbeat salon. You rock, Erica!

After wearing a high and tight for 20 years I finally found a hairstylist who I could trust enough to try something new. Stephanie was incredibly patient and took the time to help me find a new hairstyle and I could not be happier with the result!

Awesome, beachy hair bungalow. I Was referred to Erica Vanderlinden by a coworker who always has beautiful hair.(I’m glad I asked who her stylist was) I have always used Aveda because it’s so gentle on my hair, she used davineS on it this time and my hair has never been shinier. Erica took her time because it was sort of a color correction deal for me. I felt like a million dollars walking out of there and it’s because of Erica’s extensive consultation and her ninja hair skills. She has been a hairstylist for years apparently and obviously knows her stuff. My hair cut rocks! I needed a little pick me up, I had been in such an ugly funk lately. Well fortunately the universe placed me in Erica’s chair and I feel so much better it was truly like an inside out make over. When I got home my husband even noticed and complimented my hair. My experience with Erica is the best I am so glad to finally have found a home for my hair! Girl your hair game is strong! My weave will forever be in your hands!

Erica has done my hair for many years. She is always professional, honest and knowledgable. She always listens and follows through. I trust her completely when she does my hair– she always knows best and does what my hair needs. I always tell her that what matters most in my hair is not the length or the style but the integrity and the feel of my hair. She has NEVER stepped outside of that request. I work in the beauty industry and know what it is like when one client runs late… your whole day runs behind. Also, sometimes people ask for more than the original booking time will allow. Its the service industry, we provide a service to each and every client who sits in our chair unfortunately that means that we fall behind in doing our best to please people.(which is sometimes really difficult ;) It is difficult, everyones time is valuable no stylist will tell you any different. I promise you, when it is your time to sit in the chair you can guarantee that Erica will treat you as if you are the ONLY person she has seen that day. She is an excellent hair stylist.

My review is not a reflection of Jasi and/or Fringe. One could see Jasi has put her heart into her shop. For Erica only. I had gone to Erica a few times @ Synergy before her switch to Fringe in January. My hair is thick, waist length, healthy/shiny, natural curl. Use good products/blowdryer/brushes. My first appt., Erica she 20 minutes late. The female behind the counter said Erica always runs late. During appt. for a trim, Erica suggested trimming underneath only for volume. Have never had a trim as such, but agreed to 1−2″ and No layers. She assured me that I would like it & would not be noticeable. She lifted my hair up in the back, slid her scissors through out my hair underneath in an upward direction. 1⁄15 @ Fringe — called app 40 minutes before my appt. to confirm she was on time. She was 30 min behind. Changed appt to arrive 30 min later 10 min, she was add’l 15 min behind. We discussed color of regrowth & trim. I specifically told Erica 1″ trim, no layers, no cutting underneath as she had done previously. Erica acknowledged. After shampooing she applied products. As she was blowdrying, texture of my hair felt stripped. My thought was she applied a clarifying shampoo. She applied app 3 products. One in which the scent was strong. When finished, she said«doesn’t your hair feel soft?» My reply, «it feels thin, you didn’t layer it did you?» Erica said«no.» 1÷17− Shampooed/conditioned to rid of the scent. Difficult to brush & not soft as usual. Residue feeling & no elacticity. Blowdrying made matters worse. Would not curl or bend. My hair was straight & thin. In the past, by cutting a little length, it would bring out the natural curl. Not in this case. Photo was taken so I could see the cut. She cut 5 to 6“unevenly throughout. Erica had cut the top layer the same way as she had previously cut underneath. It was suggested that I put a stop on my payment. Unfortunately, payment went through on the 16th. I was worried about the texture so I called Fringe & spoke to Jasi. Erica was not in @ the time. Erica sent me a text app 3 days later. The gist of texting is as follows: Erica: «Jasi said you called.» «I’m sorry your not happy with your hair.» Erica: «I hope you can find someone who meets all your needs.» Irritated to say the very least from her lack of taking responsibility for chopping my hair, did what she felt like, & using a product(s) which felt damaging. My response with photo: «My needs where simple & clear.» «I said no layers, 1″ trim, minus products.» «You do not take responsibility for what you did to my hair.» «My hair will not curl and natural wave is no longer.» You cut layers app 5″ in the back. Uneven throughout. The color can be changed but the cut. «You applied no less than 3 products, one which had a strong scent.» «What products did you apply?» Asked her if she used a straightener ?? You said you«drank to much wine the night before.» «Whom does this when a client is sitting in their chair?!?» I asked you«if I should reschedule,» you said«no.» You ask me «what I want, and you take it upon your self to do what you want.» You don’t listen. «I have never asked for a refund but I would like a refund.» «You have no regards to time.» «No common courtesy to make phone calls when running far behind.» «My time is just as valuable as yours.» «The female scheduled behind me had to wait as well.» I made an appt to have my hair evened out & concerned of breakage. It was necessary to cut app 5″, also a treatment applied @ app $ 170.00. Within 2 wks, I spent $ 300 Erica will not respond to what products she applied. My stylist will not apply color used as in the past & cautious when blowdrying/brushing. Although my hair has been recently cut by a professional, the process of having healthy hair once again & growing out layers could take months. As she has decided to take the 5th, guessing that she may have grabbed /used the wrong product & when she applied heat to wet hair, the product adhered into my hair. Before this, I could pull my hair back with a band wrapped twice. Now, the band slides out @ 3 wraps. While blowdrying, I’ve had to wash my hands due to a residue. Recently I called Karie to cut my hair short because it felt horrible. Lessoned learned. If you trust a stylist & feel you need a change for whatever reason, think twice. I chose to turn a bad situation into something positive. I gifted my refund of $ 130 plus add’l in advance to a little girl that turned 2 whom is battling cancer @ CHLA for Princess Elsa to attend her birthday party. Erica has text x3 stating she was sending me a check for my last appt @ $ 130. To this day, I have not received it. The bigger picture, it is more important to make a child happy over money any day.

Love this salon and all the wonderful ladies that work there! I came in for the first time a year ago and entrusted Sara to cut off 12 inches if hair. HUGE change, and fell in love with my cut! I let Sara work her magic and she did not disappoint. I return regularly for bang trims and still get compliments on my hair from people. As soon as you walk in you can’t help but smile, everybody is just so lovely in there! I recommend everybody I know here and will continue to do so! :)

I love all ladies who work here, they are so friendly and make you feel welcome. Sara Clinton is my stylist and she does a great job. My hair is thin, fine, and very sensitive to color so I am protective of my hair. Sara gets to know your hair and styles accordingly. She also keeps up to date with all the new ways of cutting/coloring hair and extensions. This is the best salon in the 5 cities!

I found this salon on Unilocal and decided to check it out. Not only did I get a perfect hair cut(which is usually difficult because I have soft, fine hair) but the service and staff was awesome! My only regret is that I live in Oregon and I can’t visit the salon regularly :(seriously one of the best hair cuts I have ever had!

I found Fringe a few years back after going thru 2 or 3 other blonde«colorists» in SLO county. Cara R does all shades of blonde perfectly, glowing, shiny, healthy looking & natural looking. I highly recommend her. She’s also a sweety!

I found this salon by accident years ago and count it as one of my blessings. Jasi does wonders with my hair and I am never disappointed. I now travel three hours for my cut and highlights. Jasi works hard to fit my schedule and I plan a great week end in Pismo Beach. Once she does your hair, you won’t go anywhere else.
