History
Established in 1961.
Winans’ history traces all the way back to bakery confections in the late 1800’s. The two third generation bakers, brothers Max and Dick Winans, added hand-dipped chocolates, brittles, and copper kettle caramels to their bakery line and opened Winans Carriage House Candies in Piqua, Ohio in 1961. Since then the business had been handed down from one generation to the next and has shared its history (and deliciousness) with everyone.

What started as a traditional bakery with breads, confections and noodles has evolved to one of the finer chocolate and coffee houses in the midwest. Winans Fine Chocolates and Coffees current owners, Joe Reiser and Laurie Winans-Reiser, have operated Winans for over 12 years. They have carefully mixed new products such as European truffles, coffees, cappuccinos, whole bean coffees freshly roasted on premise and whole leaf teas with traditional offerings of assorted chocolates, brittles, hand wrapped caramels and roasted nuts.
