Bill really knows his stuff, very helpful and a genuinely nice guy. I recently installed all new kitchen appliances, and all of them are giving me problems after being installed by the brand certified tech. Most brands these days will only honor the warranty if you use their certified repair guy, which sucks because I’d rather use the guy that can actually fix the problem.
Bill was able to stop by and diagnose the problem in under 5 minutes. Then I had to go back to the certified tech to get the work done or the warranty is voided. I still think it’s worth it to pay Bill for his advice, otherwise you have to wait around for weeks while the ‘certified’ guy slowly diagnoses the problem and orders the right part.

Bill is great! He helped me fix my Bosch dishwasher’s drainage problem on the phone and no charge. My dishwasher had multiple error codes (E06, E01, E025, E024) and all were drainage related. I replaced the drain pump and that didn’t fix it. So I called other local appliance services and was told either to contact Bosch service or get a new one. I called Bill at 7:00 pm tonight and he identified the problem on the phone and guided me through the process to fix it. This is one good man! You should call him if you need a repair.

Bill was just at my house yesterday fixing a Bosch dishwasher and I was so impressed (again) by his competence, experience and integrity that I decided to get on Unilocal today and leave a review.
Bill has repaired other appliances for me in the past as well including Amana refrigerator and Bosc washer/​dryers. He has so much experience, is a creative problem-​solver and every time he solves a solves a situation for me I’m just so grateful to have a trustworthy professional to call upon.
If there is any downside it’s that Bill has a busy schedule. But even then if he can fit you in, he tries.

It’s a breath of fresh air that the actual person doing the repairs answers the phone. I like that. I like that a lot. My washer broke. Having almost divorce my husband over a broken washer, I called AM-​PM Appliance. Bill came. Bill saw. Bill fixed. I came home to a working washer. I was happy and husband was spared. Highly recommended. Yes, there is a service charge of $ 90 (minus parts). Compared to others in the area, that is pretty reasonable. Plus, $ 90 vs $ 500 for a new washer? No brainer there.

Buyers beware — this place charges $ 90 to come out. Through Dr. Appliance, I obtained their number. We set up an appointment for a technician to come in Wednesday between 2 to 4. There was no mention of a service charge. I talked to the technician the day before and he mentioned that the appointment would be his last appointment and that it would be towards the end of the day, like 330. The technician never mentioned a service charge. On that day, he called at around 230 and said he did not have the parts and he also recommended replacing the dishwasher. Even if he orders the parts, it will be over $ 200. Bottom line, $ 90 to have someone tell you getting a new dishwasher to replace a 10 year old one.
Lesson learned — if your dishwasher is too old, don’t bother to fix it.

Color me impressed — and relieved!
Our washer stopped draining suddenly — on a Saturday afternoon. Great. After calling 9 places, Bill was the only person to answer.
He ran me through some tests with the washer over the phone and then said «let me grab a few things and come right over.» Really? Right now. Now.
He had the washer fixed in 10 minutes, and fixed another issue we’d had forever that had just bugged me. He was super nice, explained the issue well and charged a very, very reasonable rate.
Bill has our appliance business from now on.

Bill is the best. He’s been keeping my household appliances up and running for 15 years. He kept my Creda washer/​dryer going well past their life expectancies, and now we never think of calling anyone else.

Bill has come to our house a number of times over the years to service our Dacor gas cooktop, Dacor convection oven, Bosch dishwasher and Maytag washer and drier. In every case, he diagnosed the problem promptly and was able to fix it in one visit. He is prompt, courteous, professional and very good at what he does. He is our go-​to guy for appliance repairs.

We were having problems with a garbage disposal and a vent fan. Bill came out and resolved both issues very quickly. He was very courteous and helpful. His rates seemed very reasonable. What more could you ask for?

This was the first time we used AM/​PM Appliance Service to fix our Bosch double oven. I will never use anyone else but Bill again! Bill was prompt, courteous and fast! My Bosch dishwasher wasn’t draining. Galvin Appliance gave me AM-PM’s number. Bill returned my call within a couple hours, even though the message had said he’d get back to me towards the end of the day. He had a cancellation and drove straight here from downtown Oakland. He took maybe ten minutes to fix my dishwasher and I even got a short tutorial on how to clear the various drains on my own, should it happen again. I consider this a valuable lesson worth more than the $ 90 I paid and was relieved to have my dishwasher working by noon! Bill was friendly, polite, got in and out fast, and took care of the problem! What more can you ask for?

Bill may, or may not return your phone call. I had a mechanical problem with a washing machine. After talking to Bill about the problem, at his suggestion, I talked to the manufacturer. After talking to the manufacturer, I called Bill again to schedule the repairs with him. I was dished off to his voice mail for several hours. I never did get the courtesy of a response, so I hired someone else. This is a minor annoyance, but I am a consultant. When anyone calls me, I return calls to review what the client’s concerns are, as a professional courtesy. I ended up paying a different service to fix the problem.

Another happy Am-​Pm customer. Wait! I’m not even a customer and I“m still happy! Galvin Appliance recommended Bill at Am-​Pm to repair my Bosch dishwasher that wasn’t draining. Instead of making an appointment to come to my house, Bill actually fixed my problem over the phone. A couple of quick directions to me and my trusty pliers and my dishwasher was up and running again.

Bill was very helpful and prompt. He fixed the problem with my range quickly. Very friendly too.

Bill was recommended by my local appliance store. He diagnosed the problem of my top of the line Bosch dishwasher over the phone and gave me an idea what the problem may be. When he arrived he had the unit opened up and quickly replaced the part and like magic we are no longer hand washing our dishes. Bill is friendly, honest very knowledgeable. No question the guy to call.

Yeah, I gotta check in on Bill. He called me when I was fishing for a rough diagnosis on a non-​working Bosch front load washer that I was considering buying, and he nailed it. He didn’t have to do that; most places just have some dispatcher who tells you to get lost, or a repair person may not even give you the time of day until you pony up cash first.
So, hat’s off to Bill – he’s one of the good guys.

I also recommend Bill Homan. Ten years ago, he was named by our appliance store as the best person to install our new dishwasher. Great dishwasher from the point of view of getting your dishes clean, but it hasn’t been as reliable as one might like. When it flakes out, Bill figures out what’s wrong and makes the machine happy again. We were especially happy when the machine was under warranty; further, we don’t blame Bill for high parts prices on post-​warranty work.
