M J Donuts

I live in Rock Hill and wanted some donuts but didn’t want Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts. Luckily, this place popped up Unilocal so I had to try it out! Drove 18 miles to this whole in the wall, and got there around 10:00am. The place is pretty small so it got very crowded quickly.
So I got the maple and Boston crème donut, and they were delicious! They weren’t hot but maybe if I got there a bit earlier, I’m sure they would’ve been. The dough was very soft, almost melted in my mouth, and the custard in the Boston crème was sooooo yummy. Wasn’t too sweet, just perfect. I would definitely go there again!

Stopped by MJ Donuts this morning to pick up some rewards for the engineering team at work. No issues getting in, and service was quick and reasonably pleasant. I purchased a dozen donuts and one apple fritter, and they threw in several donut holes (~12) for free — all for around $ 15.50! Got back to the office and tried a cake donut. It was moist and cakey, quite nice. The donut holes and the apple fritter were also fresh and tasty, but the oil they used left a bad taste in the mouth. Not sure if it was just me or the day or whatever, but I decided I preferred Dunkin Donuts to the donuts at MJ. Great value for the money though — really want to say more positive things as the experience was good, but the donuts were just not the best.

I’m surprised that the place is not jammed with cops waiting for donuts. Great tasting donuts. Every thing I tried was great. If your on a diet or diabetic stay away. If you don’t care you’ll be addicted. Nice fast server. The place looked clean. No wait. I’ll be back!

Best donuts in Charlotte. Way better than Krispy Kreme or DD. They are light and fluffy and the donut holes are awesome.

Mind = Blown! The doughnut holes from this hole in the wall; there just aren’t words to describe these little bites of heaven! With each bite, an angel gets its wings!
Shoutout to Charlotte Agenda! Had it not been for their article on the best doughnuts in Charlotte, I’d have never known about this apparent Pineville staple! Now, I’ll never forget!
Tucked on the backside of a brick shopping center, it can be easy to miss. If you use GPS, you’ll be directed into the Food Lion shopping center, left feeling confused. Trust me, it’s there. Just drive around the side of the center that faces the opposite street.
Once you walk into this modest establishment you are greeted with two cases of freshly made doughnuts and the smell of sweet glaze! They don’t have the massive variety of a typical doughnut chain, but they have the basics. Quality over quantity wins here, for sure! Each doughnut just melts in your mouth! Easily the best Boston Cream… EVER!
For me, the best part was the doughnut holes. Even better, they are FREE with any purchase! That’s right, FREE! They have bags and bags of them waiting next to the register. Once you pay, they give you a little happy sack of puffed pastries to enjoy all to yourself. …I mean, to share with your friends…
I’ve gotta run now… I think I need a doughnut…

I hate to be a downer because the doughnuts were actually pretty good. They just weren’t anything unique or special. I did enjoy the blueberry cake with blueberry frosting, and I typically don’t like cake doughnuts.
The lady behind the counter was a bit brusque, especially considering it was 4 pm and no one else was in there.
The doughnuts got much more interesting after 10 seconds in the microwave.

This is a nice little mom-​and-​pop donut shop that’s a nice break from Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme. My wife and I usually hit it up for breakfast before catching a movie down the road at the AMC Carolina Pavilion. They offer over a dozen varieties of donuts, fritters, crullers, etc. One really nice bonus is they toss in a few free donut holes when you buy something. I’ve had a few different varieties of donut there and they were all tasty. They tend to be light and flaky rather than super heavy in consistency.

Really really excellent donuts. The apple fritter is to die for and the boston crème is as well. They also give you little donut holes with each donut! The only thing I did not like was the coffee. Not the best coffee for a donut place, but I would go back again and again for the donuts.

I, too, had heard about the amazing apple fritters, but I didn’t get to try them since they were sold out the morning I went. I did have the cinnamon roll (which was amazing) and a giant mountain of doughnut holes (a real kid-​pleaser for my family). Overall, very happy with this secret treasure in Pineville.

Best donuts in Charlotte yet.. Lots of different flavors to choose from but I’m pretty basic when it comes to donuts. If you can make a great glazed donut then you have yourself a regular. Also did I mention they give a bag of free glazed mini’s with every dozen?

I bring donuts to various sales meetings quite frequently. As a self proclaimed foodie I am proud to serve MJ donuts. Thanks MJ!

Got an email this morning from Unilocal,and the title was donuts. I thought, I don’t eat donuts anymore, but let me see what’s new in the wod of fried dough. I came across MJs and it’s amazing reviews. I see the words apple fritters and it was like a key word for hypnosis.
I suddenly found myself behind the wheel of my car, driving to pineville?! Wtf? It’s about, 830am and I stroll into the shop with a big smile on my face. 2 apple fritters please. I got a look like «aw, honey». Lady behind counter, says «no more». Seriously?! They must be really good if they were sold out at 830am. Well, since I’m here, I ordered a cinnamon roll that was enormous and s cinnamon twist that was so tasty that it didn’t make it a mile.
So I will reserve my two other stars for when I actually have this amazing Apple fritters everyone is boasting of.

The doughnuts are great. So light and yummy. The free doughnut holes thrown in the bag were a wonderful surprise!!!

What a awesome find! We searched for a local donut shop and found this great spot. The selection was better than the chain stores.

We will definitely be back and probably more than we should (lol) but it’s worth it.

The Apple Fritter was simply a masterpiece. I ate it on the drive home and almost passed out behind the wheel so be mindful of that. There was a slight crunch to the outer shell while boasting a heavenly cinnamon glaze. The interior was a soft and chewy delight with just the right amount of apples without that slimy jelly so often found in inferior fritters. This is essentially a meal of an apple fritter, I’m still stuffed 2 hours post devouring. Simply put, best $ 1.65 I’ve spent in a long time.

An independent donut place with donuts that taste a notch above Dunkin and Krispy. Lots of signs forbidding visitors from touching the case or bringing outside food. Small line on Saturday morning. Donuts were ok, I wouldn’t travel to come here but it wasn’t bad.

Mj’s has some really good donuts. I stopped in after seeing other Unilocal reviews and I can see why people love this place. The donuts are light and soft and you get free donut holes with your purchase. I will definitely be back.

Sometimes you happen upon a little storefront that brings back happy childhood memories — and this is the place! I grew up not far from a little mom & pop donut shop that made amazing fresh donuts that basically spoiled me for life on Krispy Kreme or Dunkin. After moving away I missed the smell and taste of fresh donuts — until I found MJ’s.
The staff are friendly and the selection is great. My personal favorites are the donut holes and the apple fritter (and a sausage croissant to even out all the sugar). If you are looking for light and fluffy homemade wonders look no further than MJ.

This place is awesome! And by far has some of best apple fritters I’ve ever tasted! Yep. I said it and I mean it!
I stopped in a little after 8 am on Saturday morning (yes they are open on the weekends) and was pleasantly surprised with the service and selection.
The staff were all super friendly! They greeted me when I walked in and gave me free donut holes with my purchase!
Since you have to spend $ 5 to use your credit card I went crazy with my order (it makes me feel better to blame someone else for my greediness) I got a couple of apple fritters, cinnamon twist, some donuts and a coffee.

Everything was divine! So soft and still warm you could tell they had just been freshly baked!
But hands down my favorite was the apple fritter! First, it’s huge! Second, it’s crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside with chucks of apples and all that glorious glaze… finger licking good!
Please don’t be like me and wait over a year to try this place. The prices are super reasonable and it’s just so freaking good! You won’t be disappointed!
I’m just so glad this place isn’t any closer to where I live because it would be seriously detrimental to my waistline! Ha.
